The fact that Rockstar abandoned this game is borderline criminal imo.
"like the game was made for VR" But runs like garbage, has absolutely no interactions that could be translated to VR, made by people who are against the VR platform as a whole, and even have sued people making VR mods for their games. @@nutella_traum6860 I agree it wouldn't be super simple, it's not "97% already there," but Rockstar could figure it out. If modders can make it work, Rockstar _should_ be able to do better. The reason they haven't/don't is because it's REALLY hard to know how many copies a VR version of RDR2 would sell. VR has decent adoption, but not enough for them to feel like it would definitely be worth putting the time in. They could do a somewhat half-assed version like Bethesda did with Fallout 4 VR, and that would be less of a risk. But I'm sure Rockstar wouldn't want to do it unless they were going to do it all the way. Maybe if Metro Awakening does really well, that will encourage them to consider it. Red Dead Redemption 2 saved my life. This is the best video about it. I can't explain just how much I agree with everything expressed in this video. From start to finish, this video is perfect. The changes suggested to maximize immersion, the anecdotes, the visuals, the references to the story, the criticism of the weak parts of the gameplay, the jokes, and much more. One of the things about rdr2 that I love is that you can go off story and do stuff that no one tells you to do. Basically, you can become a gunslinger, you could be an innocent civilian that lives in the hotel, or whatever you want. You can make Arthur Morgan anyone you want. By the way, I don’t have a life.
Imma just leave this comment here to help with the algorithm. I usually barely comment but your video was the quality and production value of a 1m subscriber channel and you really deserve it. Subbed and liked. Keep it up 😄

The way you described all the moments this gave you is exactly how I felt when playing through Fallout VR. The immersion you get while playing a game you love in VR is something people have to really experience for themselves because even a detailed description of it doesn't really do it justice. It really changes the way you play the game entirely and it feels so much more rewarding and authentic.
I remember my first time playing Skyrim VR. I had installed just a few mods to enhance the graphics and world around me, and I limited myself to no fast travel, and walking alone or with a follower to a city was such a unique experience, and seeing the places I'd seen hundreds of times before on a tv/computer screen, I was seeing in person. Giant cities, huge trees, nordic ruins, etc., were also so fun to find and explore.
dude the fact that you did this a year ago your editing was amazing and the fact that you didn't give up at the slightest problem (although it may seem simple) is really amazing. it wouldn't record with the mod so you went out and bought a 400$ solution that was buggy. Props to you man i love your dedication.
Personally, I would LOVE to see your entire adventure! If you would post a video showing everything you did (maybe in an entire 80 hour video, or just the entire story in different parts.) I would watch it from start to finish. For some reason I couldn't stop thinking about this video, it kept me up at night.. (I wish I wasn't broke so I could afford a vr headset lol.)
This is a fantastic video! Love your dedication to experiencing the game in this way. While I've never played in VR, I had a very relatable experience once where I canoed almost the entire length of the Dakota river. It was in 3rd person, but still very immersive and probably the coolest thing I've done in the game. I couldn't believe how fun and visceral the experience was. I hunt, fish, and have gone on canoe trips to very remote places IRL and I couldn't believe how real the experience felt in RDR2. After making it through rapids, waterfalls (fell out of the canoe once and had to swim back to it and climb in), fishing along the way, and taking in the sights, the feeling of emerging into the peaceful serenity of Flat Iron lake at sunset was unreal. The only other game that has brought me such memorable wilderness experiences was the old ArmA 2 DayZ Mod back in 2012, but it was nowhere near as beautiful as the visuals in RDR2. Keep up the great content. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Great video my dude! VR is definitely underrated because the entry point of these devices is so expensive. Cannot wait for VR to be main stream and see all the best Games turned into VR !
Oculus Quest 2 - All-In-One VR Headset - 128 GB for $299.00 that is not expensive considering I paid $900.00 for my Rift CV1 about 4 years ago and the Quest 2 is far better. So when you say "expensive" I do not agree at all also if you have a prime account you can do payments off Amazon there really is no excuses.

Using the binoculars and seeing the shaking of your head when zoomed in ( which simulates the shaking of your hands irl) was crazy. A level of immersion I never knew existed

This video just proves once again how great the game is and how much it means to me. Man I really wanna get a PC and VR to try this out now. Incredible video man. I’m totally subscribed. 👌🙌
It would be cool to see a full playthrough of this, learning curves and all, I wish my pc could run this but it def convinced me to play through the game again in first person
I always thought that with the amount of details RDR2 has, it's a need for this game to have native VR support. Of course, easier said than done but things like weapon handling and physic objects interactivity could drive this game to a new level. Hopefully rockstar does it at one point, considering they did so with LA Noire. Maybe Sony could throw some dollars in it.
Sure, but there's a problem. You might think that it's Rockstar but no, it's Take Two Interactive. Ever wondered why some parts of the game are unfinished or you think could have been perfected better? For example Chapter 5 in RDR2? Or... EVERY ONLINE BY ROCKSTAR? The person behind this is Take Two Interactive. The thing is that Take Two Interactive owns Rockstar. And they're greedy. They tell Rockstar that they want profit, and that they should release their game early. And because of that, we have some forgotten content, content that could have been better, and content that sucks. And online. Online is a cash grab because of Take Two Interactive wanting money. The reason why many people assume that its Rockstar is because Rockstar is the only name you see clearly, Take Two Interactive is a name you see only at the very end of the credits. Simply, Take Two Interactive is the one behind everything wrong with Rockstar. They should take the blame.

The power of VR is astonishing. And what a review this was, it's so incredibly well done. I wish I'd ever get to see a device like the Animus in Assassin's Creed where we'd be able to enter a game and experience things like never before.
Dude I’m new to your page but when you did that monologue acting like you was back in the 1800s was awesome. I like that the character was narrating it while acting.
Very good video, goes to show that video games are a medium that have very unique abilities that movies and books can’t replicate. Books and movies can make you feel like you’re there but games can put you there, and force you to make/carry out the decisions of the characters. Red dead, the last of us, and dishonored are perfect examples and I cannot imagine playing a VR mod for these other games, stunning🔥
I don't have a VR headset, but I wish I could do this, but because of my motion sickness I probs wouldn't be able to, but I stay in first person for as long as I can because it's so immersive. Thank you for the awesome video!
I’m not usually motion sick, but I did get sick in VR in the beginning. However with time my brain learned to cope with it, so maybe you could un-learn getting motion sick if you spend time in VR?
Absolutely amazing video! I don't have VR gear so I try not to rely on the mini map and other HUD. oooh I can only imagine what feels like I'm on VR...
It’s so weird, with any other game if a guy started yapping while I was riding horse back with them I’d be bored af but the convocations you have are actually entertaining. Also in your first camp (not the snowy one) just sitting around the campfire and hear the story’s are so cool to me. 10/10 game
It sucks we may not be able to try this mod ourselves, but the way you talk about it and take us through your experience makes up for it. Fantastic video!
I actually play the game like this already, in third person and I think the developers wants us to play it like this. But clearly I can see that I have been missing out on so many small details in the game just by looking at this video. Love that you play the game with intention and appreciate the work that has been put into this game!
If only Rockstar would release a VR version. Considering how modders can do this, a studio like rockstar could do it no problem! I’d purchase the game again for VR
They would, but greedy company that owns Rockstar, by the name of Take Two Interactive orders them not to. You see, Take Two Interactive should take the blame for everything wrong with Rockstar. Like Online. Because Take Two Interactive is greedy and is all about money. They're the reason that Rockstars' games released *years* earlier. And you might think that that is a good thing, but because of that, there's so much content missing or that could have been better. For example, VR. Or Chapter 5 - Guarma. They had to release the game even though the game was not finished yet. And seeing that the games, outside of Online, never updated (the only exception is bug fixing and performance improvements) means that Take Two Interactive simply orders Rockstar not to improve it. That's why we won't get official VR anytime soon - Take Two Interactive is why. Rockstar never forgotten their games. It's Take Two who is behind stuff like Online and should take the blame.
I just got this video recommended now. 2 years after it was published. And I must say that I understand why you've grown as a content creator because this video was a very high quality interesting all the way through. Keep up the good work man!
now I've been watching youtube now for many years, and I honestly have to say, this video was one of the best, if not the best video I have ever seen here. absolutely mind blowing, emotional, funny and what not. I really can not remember me saying anything like that to sth here on yt. 10/10❤
This video was finally suggested to me 2 years after I started playing video games for the first time ever at 48 years old, thanks to the beauty of this game. Thank you for helping people slow down and appreciate its beauty. I'm gonna turn off the mini map and visual displays when I play tonight. I usually get motion sick and vomit in first person, but Arthur will have a drink or two and it'll be realistic 😁
Wow wow wow. I've watched the whole video, itching to comment on all the brilliant things you do. Its not just brilliant editing, but YOU in so many wonderful ways, funny, insightful, bright. Yes that's what you are, a bright shining star. The world is your oyster, don't let anything or anyone hold you down or back. Just be YOU and we'll all be happy for it. Thank you for this moment. PS. Its sad to see quality like this not getting the attention it deserves and accolades owed to you by Rockstar themselves. If they don't hire you, someone else will. You reap what you sow.
Great video. I am on my first ever play-through of RDR2 and it is great. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will work too well with my 1080ti due to no DLSS. I now need to look for a reasonably priced 3080.
Being 38 years, and not really been with the gamer crowds since 15...this is one of the best internet videos Ive ever seen. What a review. Very very professional.

Great vid. I think many of us know exactly what this game left you with. This level of gaming is what gaming is meant to be. I never knew it had this kind of detail. I will living a second life now.
You nade a great video mate. the cutscene in the end of the video, you made it right, i feel your amateur spirit, which cannot be replaced with any. Thank you!
I love how you really explained all the reasons why this game truly is a masterpiece. Even playing on console its easy to get completely absorbed into the game and lose yourself. That’s a hallmark of a great open world game. Unfortunately I’m not a pc gamer and vr isn’t available for Xbox at least as far as I know. I’d love to on day take this journey because when you talked about your canoe trip down the river it really made me want to give vr a try. It’s the closest to really being in the actual game you can get. Great video!
I once had this incident where I fast traveled to camp while bounty hunters were on the map, and it triggered some weird instance where some of the camp members go into some kind of “fight mode” like they do in missions. Usually this happens when you lead enemies to camp, but there’s usually a game over immediately after that, and there were no enemies. The coolest part is that when I got on my horse, Kieran mounted up on his horse and followed me out of camp. We even ran into some enemies and he helped take them out. I’ve never been able to replicate this, and I’m not sure if it’s even a glitch or just some game mechanic that I’m not aware of. This was during chapter three btw.
Incredibly well done dude. Considering at the time you had 60 subs, the amount of work you put in is incredible. I was engrossed the whole time and didn’t want it to end. Kudos!
the feeling of someone or something watching you comes from way back like Vice city when you visit the apartment with the chainsaw or the forest besides chilliad in San andreas. Rockstar really likes that kind of feeling outsides missions
This is by far the best review I have ever watched. Apart from the "What the?" section. But the sheer amount of detail and meticulous description of the video, and all that edits and in-game footage, it's just amazing. Congrats.

1 of the games that was great on screen 27-65"(depending on if i used my pc screen or tv)But V.R must be a thing with no other stuff to compare to it i think its alot of great moments n different playstiles to..Exploration really must be a thing to love in vr...
This is honestly so well made, hope more people will discover your channel soon
watched the whole video. incredible. thank you for all the hard work you put into it.
The power of VR is astonishing. And what a review this was, it's so incredibly well done. I wish I'd ever get to see a device like the Animus in Assassin's Creed where we'd be able to enter a game and experience things like never before.
So cool but so scary at the same time
We can now 😊
Okay but that 3 consecutive fist block was magestic
0:34 there is no way that it’s rdr2! Those graphics look way more insane than I recall
I don't have a VR headset, but I wish I could do this, but because of my motion sickness I probs wouldn't be able to,
but I stay in first person for as long as I can because it's so immersive.
This video is probably one of my favorites of all times. Thanks for that sir.
I’m hoping to build a vr pc soon, thank you for making this video. It makes me more excited to try red dead in vr
Fantastic video!
internet archive :)
Just pirate it
? How will u pirate the mod when its archived? Are you drunk nigga?@@brdg00d1ng
It still works ;) give it a try
You should do a vr play through I would watch that. Your story telling is awesome
the effort put into this video is insane, new favourite youtuber 100%
Never been this jealous of someone with a VR headset
sometimes when i play rdr 2 i forget i am playing a game and it feels like it s a movie
this is so underrated wtf
now I've been watching youtube now for many years, and I honestly have to say, this video was one of the best, if not the best video I have ever seen here. absolutely mind blowing, emotional, funny and what not. I really can not remember me saying anything like that to sth here on yt. 10/10❤
Night folk in vr 😭💀
These videos about the transformation of pancake games to VR make me so much more inspired that they should. Hope that more are on the horizon
This how every kid in the 1800s got to school?
Yea pretty much
😂
I'd say play the game normally now and jump back in with a next gen rdna3 or Lovelace card a year later and have a blast.
do you think this would run well on a 2060 super considering he was on a 2070 and they are basically the same
I bought a VR set to play RDR2 in VR and the day I got one was the same day Rockstar shut it down. I was livid.
Jealous. They should make an official vr version what are they thinking what wasted potential I'd buy this immediately on ps vr2
It’d take 50 years for rockstar to even add a vr feature
This is amazing, I wanted first person for red dead so badly. I can’t imagine how cool it is in VR. I hope this is the future.
you can already play rdr2 in first person without mods
they have taken this mod down. can someone please share their VR mod file. thanks
Extremely funny, captivating, actually entertaining and had my focus. Amazing video. Deserves the likes and views. Keep it up, my man.
this was a great analysis, i need this in VR now
Being 38 years, and not really been with the gamer crowds since 15...this is one of the best internet videos Ive ever seen. What a review. Very very professional.
This video is such a love letter to RDR2, VR Gaming and Luke Ross. I am actually bumping a headset to the top of my upgrade list because of it.
bro idk how many subs u had when u made this but u have some crazy actnig/filming skill expected u to have atleest 300k subs but rn only 45k??? what the hell man u deserve so much more
the roleplaying as a red dead character was actual art. so masterfully written, my god!
Wow 1 Million views on VR Mod.. Congrats! Sooo glad the VR Community is growing with these VR Mods.. cant wait for Praydogs VR injector coming soon!
Great vid. I think many of us know exactly what this game left you with. This level of gaming is what gaming is meant to be. I never knew it had this kind of detail. I will living a second life now.
21:23 holy shit I got chills and I wasn’t even in your perspective. 😂
A red dead movie or show would go crazy
This is an entire story. Love your vids man keep it up
I didn’t laugh at washed it down with a rockstar energy, but when I heard that sound effect, I almost died laughing
Love the effort put into this both visually and physically lol. Keep it up ❤
You nade a great video mate. the cutscene in the end of the video, you made it right, i feel your amateur spirit, which cannot be replaced with any. Thank you!
just now found this guy and i love him already. great content and im only a quarter the way through the vid
For maximum immersion, buy a physical CD box copy of the game. It comes with a real paper map of the entire game world. When you get lost, use that.
Honestly this deserves a spot in the top 5 best RUclips videos of all time
You won with this FILM I am impressed man.. Thanks for making this!
I honestly wish rockstar would release this game truly in vr
Incredibly well done dude. Considering at the time you had 60 subs, the amount of work you put in is incredible. I was engrossed the whole time and didn’t want it to end. Kudos!
just WOW thank you and Luke for making this possible
awesome job, man, I can really feel your love for this world
OK ... but is the first not-trembling VR video I see in my entire life
I mean: having Parkinson without having Parkinson disease is a rampant problem
the feeling of someone or something watching you comes from way back like Vice city when you visit the apartment with the chainsaw or the forest besides chilliad in San andreas. Rockstar really likes that kind of feeling outsides missions
This is by far the best review I have ever watched. Apart from the "What the?" section. But the sheer amount of detail and meticulous description of the video, and all that edits and in-game footage, it's just amazing. Congrats.
This makes me want a headset. When i own one, this will be one of the first things I try
