Hi, is the spacer enough to hold cable tight or should i buy a cable clamp? Can i use them together?

The cable spacer has an integrated clamp so it will hold the cable tight. The spacer and clamp are not designed to be used together.

I'd love to be able to use this stuff but my tripod is a Manfrotto 55 and doesn't use the area system!

No they are not and hopefully you caught the addition of the 1/4"-20 TetherArca when we recently rolled out the ONsite Relay C. tethertools.com/product/onsite-relay-c-camera-power-system/

Cool! When the TetherArca Cable Spacer could be available from your European dealers?

It's available to our entire distribution network - ask your local dealer when they will stock it! They may already have it.

nice review. I have a a7rv and would like to start tethering either in my LRC with your software. I hesitate between a right angle connector and a straight one. I don't understand why people use a staright one. Your adapter for portrait orientation is quite big on tripod. shouldn't a right angle cable insert between L-bracket and camera on tripod without any adapter ?

The straight end USB-C cable and the Right-Angle USB-C cable can both be good options, depending on the situation. The primary thing to consider when selecting a cable is how will the cable be supported. We always recommend using a Cable Management device of some kind to support the cable when tethering.
The TetherArca Cable Spacer for L-Brackets (shown in the video), creates additional clearance for the cable when the camera is oriented vertically. The Spacer has a ‘cable clamp’ that supports the weight of the cable. The Cable Spacer for L-Brackets is designed for use with a straight-connection cable.
Not all L-brackets will allow for an adjustment that can accommodate a Right-Angle cables. Some L-bracket designs will allow for the setup that you have described. However, as noted above, it is always important to ensure that that there is also some cable Management device that is supporting the weight of the cable.
We would be happy to discuss the best options for your particular setup if that is useful. Please feel free to reach out to our support team at techsupport@tethertools.com

I have an L grip, could I use it with your tether cable lock?

Our entire TetherArca line is compatible with l-brackets that use the arca standard.
