That is one of the nicest looking crossmembers I've ever seen on a custom swap! Most guys do things so half-assed, it's awesome to watch someone doing things the right way.
judging by that workmanship, and the trucks you see in the background, that shop is for sure a high end quality place to get a truck built. i bet every single one of those has that same level of craft under it.
Yeah, it’s extremely nice work.
Still not a " mid-engine " truck , just some engine setback like most any other pre 2021 Corvette and a few other cars.
@@bobroberts2371 It's by definition a front mid-engine, the engine it between the two axels, therefore it is mid-engine.
@@anzacxlag2606 Go you are saying that GM is lying when they said the 2020 Corvette is the first production mid engine Corvette? It appears that the truck is using the stock Corvette engine mounts / sub frame. Was the donor Corvette mid engine?
Your editor is maaadd, he always impresses me with his editing skills! I always enjoy watching the videos it’s sooo entertaining to watch, keep it up and Wrench Every Day!
second that . well side
@@shineautomotive side of what well?
be handy in a NASCAR truck race!!
Lmao I’m dead
Damnit, beat me to it.
The hood hanging over the front looks like a visor that was meant to be there!
Nothing to critique about those welds, damn fine work.
I though the same.
6:42 Filename: "Jared's bad choices.tap" lol This says a lot about their friendship. 😄
You should fabricate a visor for the windshield. The hood looks like a visor.
I was thinking the same...
I like that you are showing the old International pickup some love. They were built like tanks and abused like a tank and few people appreciate them enough to fix up.
Jared really has brought up the quality of this channel. Good work bruh.
I've heard of torque steer but this is awesome. You never know how far you can go until you break it.
But only in front powered cars right? ...What this steering is doing I have no idea, I'm a bit confused about how this is happening.
Bent torsion bar in the directional control valve in the steering rack.
Bravo Jared, this build is by far one of favorites to watch on any platform!
i love the length of these videos. been binge watching ya lately and really appreciate all the wisdom. the editor makes it like a tv show and its great
Keep up the good work I can’t wait to see it finished
It's a joy watching craftsmen work.
On my 58 Chevy p/u with a LS, I did a two into one air intake. I had air filters behind each inboard headlight location. I removed the inboard headlights and built screens to fit in the hole, similar to a 64 Ford T-bolt.
Love the Internationals. Our Scoutmaster could stuff most of the Troop in his Travelall, and our friend used to load some of us up in his dad's Scout Mail Jeep, with right hand drive and a pink paint job. Never owned one, but I'm not dead yet...
I want a job at J&J. Where would RUclips car builds be without them? 👏 👏
I think Johnny Rev is my favorite project on this channel Jared you guys are doing a great job. Johnny looks fantastic with all the patina.
Can't get over how far this channel has come. It's just as enjoyable as Tavarish. Great job, Jared!
Remember working on my 1977 New Yorker, and couldn't figure out why my wheels were turning left. Then learned you had to adjust it by just slightly loosing where the hoses bolted to the steering box and move it slightly to the right or the left. This was back in the days before Internet and Google were your friend.
I love this project. Over the pond, we don’t see things like this. Fantastic
That's looking really good. I would leave the mags in the front, and the orange steel rims out back. Maybe add an inch or two in width to the rears, but leave them orange! Looking good with all that patina! Awesome truck!
The camera work on this episode was really good!
about the intake i would say get an as big as you can airfilterbox for whatever vehicle you can find, and make it a nice clean fit, a work truck is a work truck so i suggest you make it so it can withstand some dust
Just now noticed the wheel spacers in the front,... possibly get some really deep dish wheels to clear the calipers!!!!
Good thing they're fixing you up. C5 Corvette racks are NOT cheap.
when is the honda limo coming back?
defo was loving the build . I'm from over in the uk and i race with dark side developments where Mr J got the bits from . hopefully more on the honda soon
Stay tuned. There's an update on the status of Honda Rousey coming very soon...
When you went to help freddie I thought this project had fallen by the waistline but this upload has me back excited to see this thing rip
@@tspawn35 im hopeful that they will go back to it after this
I hate it when things fall to the waistline...

THE ONLY THING DRIER THAN MY HUMOR IS THE SAHARA 🤔
Great vlog Jerrod 👍🤓🇺🇸
Good job editor! This video looks like it could be a TV show!
Woo! Awesome fabrication work! Although I didn't mention it, I was one of those "Oh man, they'd better paint that underside after doing so much work" worriers!
I'm loving this project! Still can't decide what body our LS is going to go in after we finish our mustang project, but an older truck like this looks like a lot of fun! And sooooo much room to work on it! Keep up the good work!
Have you thought about putting Detroit steel wheels on it? I think the Steeles look great!
I do enjoy Jared , he has a lovely way about him .
Yes! A shout out to the freedom factory would be a awesome episode you tavarish and cleeter!
On your rear cross member, it seems to me that if the bottom of the tab were bent out a couple degrees, you'd never need the washers, plus it would bolt even tighter together.
Watching the truck with the hood on the roof, I thought "hmm, johnny rev needs a visor." I also really like the orange steely look on the back end, I think it would be cool to go with that style on the final build.
The best guy there is! Thanks for another awesome video guys!
u ever think about putting a corvette rear end on it . it would b a good idea love ur videos btw ur a hell of a macanic
you know they plan on making it a tow-rig right? Im not sure, but a corvette rear might not be the right choice for putting all that weight and stress on it.
I have a suggestion for the wheels... If you can find the same style steel wheels in the back in a 20 inch diameter, paint them the same orange as the factory wheels, throw some chrome beauty rings and center caps on... I think you'd keep the classic look with a modern touch. Where you'd find something like that... I don't know. Just a thought though.
loving this series Jared
such a cool truck
with a mean stance
can wait to see it rolling
between the honda limo and the truck i dont know wich one is the best
Jared! Love the video, can't wait to see some of these projects on track day! Hope you and yours and healthy and happy. Cheers!
I thought we were to make questionable choices......wrap that tank in foil and slap that exhaust under it. Use the fuel tank straps to hold the exhaust up! Lol
The real question is when are you taking it to the freedom factory??
I mean the dale truck is also a naturally aspirated ls soooo....
@@zach2beat yeah, but it has a quite big shot of giggle gas now, so...
You can drill/tap the water pump and install a barbed fitting for the steam port. Then you can ditch that long coolant hose and adapter in the upper hose.
This is an awesome build, I love following along.
Project is lookin' good. Keep up the good work.
Those welds are 👌🏻 my only with that transmission crossmember is that it looks to drop down from the chassis rail a long way, just wondering how much clearance there is from the ground when the truck is sitting at ride height.
Hi Jared nice video 📹 and workmanship
Wouldn't you want to move the gas tank to a Fuel safe in the back? I mean there is a reason why they don't have gas tanks on the side anymore. Plus then you can do the better exhaust.
Everyone was thinking it. You put it into words. Thanks!
The editing with the puppy was awesome 🤙
That grille looks very similar to the Australian XW Ford Falcon. A bit thinner, but it has the look
Randy is like Jared to Tavarish..
Love your work Jared, enjoy your videos and thumb up.
Truck is coming up nicely.
Looks like you got the room... quad turbo time!
It’s funny looking at these older cars and trucks with such big engine bays , it’s makes even a 6.2 look small. But that’s good , more room for snails 🐌
Holy crap we need a wrench every day soundtrack! The music played in these episodes r just freaking amazing
I didn't know you were building a Nascar Edition Johnny Rev International Pick-up. (only turns left)
So funny, I commented after the video intro and Jared said the same thing in the video near the end.
Digging the Rebel Galaxy feel to the music.
Really enjoy the content and makes my day seeing a video upload for you guys! Keep up the awesome work 💯🔥
You should do a hood scoop for air, haha i like the weird of center ones but it looks like yours is already setup to be in the center.
Can’t wait to see it out on the road 👍👍😍😍
Should do the steam port kit so the rear steam ports are used also.
Turning right only comes with the premium package, getting fancy!
Dang these guys know their stuff and are fast
I love watching these videos you do a good job of making a TV show out of your builds thanks for making my day and keep up the great videos..
thinking about Ford supervan, English Transit style, thank you for the weird crazy awesome inspiration. IH built some tough old rigs. People are only limited by their imagination, if they have torches, and welders.
Jared, I really want to see you hide that engine with a false cover that looks like a 4-banger or a straight 6 or something like that. You've actually got enough room in there for an LS-powered barbecue grill too. Drive to the lake and cook your brisket at the same time!
cant wait to see what kind of paint you do to this beast
Paused after 30 seconds.... Dude.... Obviously you SLAM On the brakes to turn to the right..... Duh!
Doesn't this guy know anything?
😆👍👊
It idles awesome for first couple start ups
Yes Sir!! I love watching your shows, Jared! I have watched a good amount of your videos and every time I enjoy them even more. Keep them coming since that's what makes me enjoying the days even more. So, have a nice day and until the next one. Take care, you guys. I really love the work on that truck. That's giving me an idea just that I have to wait! You guys are awesome! And so until next time! Bye!
There is so much space in the engine bay. Im jealous
3:35 😧🤭 Jaredddd... Didn’t knew u speak French, how lovely 😊👋😂
A set of nice wide banded steels would suit it very well
That’s a nice Scout sitting next to that pickup.
Can't wait for this thing back on road
I keep wondering if the motor should have been placed in the stock location and all the needless fabrication would have been skipped?????
They swapped the whole subframe and suspension from a corvette so either way they were looking at a lot of fab work and it's easier to just leave the engine mounted where it originally was on the corvette subframe. Plus it just makes the truck better, even if it is a pain in the ass
@@testarossagzb5582 I haven't watched the entire build. So the engine is in the same location as the Corvette donor? If so, this truck IS NOT " mid-engine " . The only mid engine Corvette is the new one according to GM.
@@bobroberts2371 he explains in an earlier video...since the engine sits behind the front wheels, it can be considered mid-engine. I don't think anyone really considers this mid-engine, it's all in fun. Great build, great video! Favorite RUclips build going right now.
@@txcharvel Oh great, in addition to some being able to consider themselves gender fluid, we now have to deal with vehicles that have engine location identity issues. Continuing to call this mid engine detracts from an otherwise good build. Have a look at my very detailed logic below and please: Find where thus truck fits and flaws in my logic. BTW I posted this in another vid and it got deleted.
Is a 1970 Corvette mid engine? This truck has about the same engine setback. Are you saying that GM is lying when they say that the 2020 is the first production mid engine Corvette? Read my detailed post below.
I like the work and vid production however, this isn't by any stretch of the imagination a " mid engine " truck. I've provided a breakdown below however would deffer to a definition by the SAE.
This truck has about the same engine set back as a Corvette from the 70's , MG Midget , Triumph Spitfire TR5 , Dodge Viper. This truck is front engine with a bit of setback. I judge it like this, take the wheelbase and find the F to R center point. Then take the F axle center line to the center point you have found and find the center of that then the same for the rear. ( There will now be 3 points along the length of the wheelbase that I'll call 1 , C , 2 . )
FA----1----C----2----RA
If the forward most spark plug hole ( or injector if diesel ) is ahead of the front axle, it is a front engine. ( like most any American engine in the front, driving axle in the rear car in the past 70 years )
If the forward most spark plug hole is between the front axle and point 1, it is front engine with setback. ( Like a 70's Corvette )
If the forward most spark plug hole is between 1 and C is it front mid engine. ( Like a Panoz LMP-07 , Indy cars from the 40's / 50's )
If between C and 2 it is rear mid engine ( Like ?? )
If between 2 and RA it is mid engine. ( Like a MR2 , 914 , X19)
If behind the rear axle it is rear engine. ( Like a 911 )
Great episode, fantastic production!
The Boscoe callout lead to me not paying attention to the auto work for the rest of that shot.
Also, Clear that Patina!!
6 liter is so powerful even a RWD has toque steer. Love the show.
I'm wondering if the steering rack pulling to the left was a possible cause of the 'accident'. Many years ago I worked for a fellah who bought and repaired accident damaged cars. One car he had was front wheel drive, and had been pulled backwards out of a ditch. After fixing it all, he drove it up the road and the oil all fell out of the gearbox.... a tooth had come of the diff and caused one wheel to lock - putting the car in the ditch - then freed up when pulled out. This rack might be a similar cause :-). BTW, love the build.
Love the Build. Please move that gas tank!!
These guys know what they're doing. 👍🏻
There's a whole wide range of "fragrance" between "less" and "smellier", Jared.
Another reason to be thankful there's no odorama on RUclips yet 😜
Yay Bosco! Now why doesn't Freddy have a dog at his shop?
Also, Shoutout to Editor Randy! Slick production. Nicely done.
Can't wait for the Honda Roussey
The new editing 👌👌👌👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks Evan! You're my new favorite channel subscriber :)
Amazing fabrication work!
Love ur vids, u are by far my fav yt channel
Good work Gerrard and the other guys
You have to counterstear at the freedom factory as driving sideways is a requirement.😂
I'd say those front wheels look pretty good and you should get a set for the rear
Some wider rears to 😁😁
lol @21:48 from that view/ walkaround it looks like the trk has no motor in it at all lol !! thats alot of room for boosted baldeagles !!!!!!!! love the trk man great work great original-er
idea
U got so much engine room it blows my mind
this is just a sick sick truck! love internationals!
change tank or used old one put to muffler exhaust place..
for me move tank is need for high speed also make more balance and stability
Talented guys.
@vtuned needs to make his trans mount like this one!
How about exhaust stacks coming up out the bed of the truck?
