- We're officially ready to start fitting the trunk on the 1959 Volvo. The trunk needs to be positioned so that it "flows" from the quarter panels to the trunk. This type of car building is all done by eye. Once it looks good, we'll nail it in place 😎

Some of the people don’t pay attention, because this RUclips channel is an always was about being able to build a hot rod without a bunch of fancy tools and without spending a bunch of money !! Bad Chad said many times he’s not about that. He’s about what he does and he’s very very successful. Pay attention then you don’t have to always make negative comments. When he was in Australia, there were no negative comments by them people.
Needs the rear fender on to get the line and shape of the rear end correct! IMO

Start with the exhaust pipe to get the structure in place. Then you can finesse the fillers. This will give the best result.

If you french a bumper into the rear, then the sheet metal below the trunk lid can drop more steeply.

Chad, Jolene, & Fina Happy Sunday Funday to you! Chad it is just my opinion that the gentler it can come up in the back the better it will look versus if it has to come up more vertically. That may be confusing I think it will look better like the Porsche is shaped in the back. Jolene nice video and production work as always, you are still growing the channel too! It was nice to see Fina as well she is such a good girl!

What happened to the other two guys. I stayed with the show after they started. I almost stopped till they started. The show had gotten kind of stale, now it's only about 30 minutes. Help me understand.
They work part time for Chad. Chad left and went on vacation for 2 weeks so they had to go find other work to keep busy til he returned. Now that he’s back from vacation I’m sure they will be back in shop next week.
If you pay attention yesterday bad Chad said Monday, the guys will start again !! And talking about the videos getting stale, so are your negative comments !!!

Chad could you add to length of truck lid roll it do we to bottom of trunk
Just a suggestion. Instead of shaping the tops of the rear quarters to blend in with the boot, continue the line from the tops of the doors to the rear of the car to make wings sort of like a 57 Chev. That way the boot would stay intact and you wouldn't have the almost impossible task of making the rear quarters flow with the boot. It will be interesting to see how Chad solves this.
Hey Chad. I like the look of trunk. Going to be a different look.
What I want you to do is be more careful. I worry about your eyes when welding. I know you close your eyes but still, maybe heavy tinted googles. I used to wear them with ventilated sides and full eye protection.

I think that trunk needs cut in half pull the lower half down to bumper more add a middle section to the trunk you don’t want that much metal from bumper to bottom of trunk lid the bumper is low your not gonna have no place to have the roof fold down in to like all convertibles got a space behind the rear seat to except the roof framing Chad trunk needs a little flat steel behind window to look in proportion
You should know by now that roadsters don't have roofs !!

What if ya added the upper part of a 1955 Plymouth that fin and about a foot of its tail lite to it then transition into it ?

I think…. Save yourself a ton of work….
Cut trunk directly down the middle top to bottom and move each side over to the quarter panels.
That will eliminate ALL of your work trying to make the quarters transition into trunk and being left with a double hump jump from quarter panel shape.
Will be much easier, less work and much more appealing to simply make a piece up the center of trunk to fill the gap.
Just my bellybutton, but I see the sides quarters to trunk transition much more appealing with trunk moved out to each side

I am going to SEMA this year and would like to film so I can remember it I am 76 and it will probably be the last time I go. It’s time to leave it up to the younger crowd . Why not just cut the back section off and bring it in till it's aligned with the trunk?
Might then look good with 57’ T-Bird or Mercury tail lites !

As you were saying in your previous video, as a professional myself, your jobs are actually worth 3 to 4 times more cashflow than your asking for. And technically most of the vehicle could be made to newer standards of customization cruzers.
You could bend them tops of the fenders over a pipe to face the trunk second

The shape is good the proportions don’t work.
6 of one, half a dozen of the other. it's like saying that two things are a little different but overall, looking at them from a wider perspective, they are really not that different. SIX OF ONE, HALF A DOZEN OF THE OTHER. Remember that a dozen = 12, so one-half a dozen equals 6 (six). So, it is two ways of saying the quantity six. This does take a little practice to be able to easily drop it into a conversation...or during a live show.
