How I got into 5 out of 6 UC Schools that I applied to (Stats, GPA, Extracurriculars)

- Hey y’all! After the last college decision reaction video that I posted, I have been getting a lot of requests for my stats, so here in this video, I will be sharing the my stats, GPA, score, extracurriculars, and awards that got me into 5 out of 6 UC schools that I applied to. But just remember, each person is unique in their own ways and your stats and extracurriculars will be different from everybody else to a certain degree. Please only take my high school stats as a reference, and continue to pursue what you are truly passionate about. Y’all will do incredible on your college applications!
UC schools that I applied to and their majors:
✅UCLA - Math / Applied Science - Accepted and Committed (Go Bruins!)
✅UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara - Electrical Engineering - Accepted
⭕️UC Berkeley - Engineering Math / Statistics - Waitlisted (still no result)

Hey, for your research paper, did you have a mentor in that specific area of study or was it completely independent? I am curious because I want to do something similar but do not know if I need a mentor or not.

tell him to look for a major or broad field he might like and start his extracurriculars now. Its a lot easier to spend an hour a week freshman year instead of cramming everything junior year

For extracurricular do would they want more with leadership involvement like I'm the programming lead for my school's vex robotics next year will that count?
They would for sure like to see leadership experiences, it’s always good to see your increased involvement in something that you have been doing for a long time. But I think UCs also have some emphasis on applying your knowledge towards helping others through volunteering or other activities
@@PeterJWang yea I also have that- math tutoring for algebra 1- 2 somphmore year and next year it’ll be pre calc and calc at Mathnasium
How many schools in total did you apply to? also did you have to apply to UC schools separately or did you apply through the common application, 'm asking because on the common app there is only 10 extracurriculars but you had more.
The applications are same for all UC which means you only have to write the 4 essays once and submit transcript once
UC application has its own website, and aside from the amounts of ECs and awards you can put down, it is pretty similar to the common app

I would love to know how you published your research. I’m a freshman and this whole year I have been working on a couple teen psych and mental health papers/research. I truly want to help the community beyond college APS and share my work with my community
Hey, if you're still thinking about this, I've done some research on mental health/psychology right now as a sophomore in hs. I can give you some advice if you shoot me a dm somewhere if you're still interested^^. It's nice to see someone else interested in mental health research.
Are research papers difficult to make? I'm above average in my school when it comes to writing essays but compiling studies sounds difficult and draining
@@nuriyah79 Well, if you're doing research you actually care or like, it'll be fine, since that'll motivate you. Personally, yeah I sometimes get stuck when citing sources. I have a doc that might help for certain research paper writing tips if you want.
do u have any studying tips for sat reading and while taking it
Take a speed reading course it makes you not only realize how easy reading comp is compared to computational subjects (the answers are right in front of you) but also helps time management and teaches how to enter a state of almost perfect focus.
Bro, Berkeley is top 10 university of the world, how can you choose UCLA over Berkeley?

Everything depends, berkley maybe could not offer the courses and materials that he wanted for his career.
@@parvdeepdeswal9407 Yeah, or Berkeley just doesn't fit him. For instance, I don't like MIT, even though I'm an international student, and everyone in my country loves it, and the fact that it is top 1. I just wrote my comment to get his point, but he didn't respond

@@anitm5313 Yeah im an indian student, born and raised in california but i lived in india for 10 years, came back last year for 11th grade and now going to 12th grade in 1 week, aiming for any of the UCs preferably ucla but well see how it goes
Hi can you give more info on CERT how to get the training or how to join the CERT
Yeah ofc! In my town, I think they hold CERT at least twice a year - once in the fall and once in the spring, and all you need to do is sign up through your city or country website. While you completely the 6 weekly trainings, you’ll also need to finish its online course. Usually you’ll have firefighters and policemen teaching the in-person classes, and there will be a final exam given at the end. It was such a unique and fun experience, you def should try it

Im a junior in high school, an out of state student
and don’t have AP/Honors classes on my transcript, however I do have a 3.81 gpa, and would like to go to UCLA to study political science (which supposedly is 25% easier to get into) according to admissions data, and my extracurriculars include Model UN, Mock Trial, Students demand Action, Best Buddies, director of fundraising in the current events club, volunteering with school, and Student Council (where I might become secretary)
Can I Still get in to UCLA given my strong Extracurricular activities?
Note UCLA College of Letters and Sciences does not admit by major. This means you are applying for the college and the majors within that college is not impacted. You can expect CAS to be around 11 percent acceptance rate which is still very doable.

So you went to high school in CA which is why you got into UC's. The schools that rejected you lost out. I think there is an anti Asian bias at a lot of private schools because so many that apply are super qualified and the student body would be majority Asian. UC's are not able to consider race but they have to give priority to CA residents so the most competitive UC's are majority Asian. People like you are what make the University of California the greatest university system in the world.
Actually they give priority to out of state students and that’s why CA residents have called them out on it. They do that since they can more tuition $ from out of state applicants

@@CLaFong that's not really a fair comparison/argument because many college students want to stay closer to home + in state tuition is a lot less than out of state hence the vast amount of CA students in UC's
