- How to recall or replace an email message sent in outlook.
MS Outlook lets you recall an email up to 120 minutes after you send it. You can unsend the email and delete it from the recipient inbox. Or you can replace it with a new one with the correct message, link, invite or attachment.
To Recall or replace a sent email
Select the Sent Items folder.
Select or double-click the message so it opens in another window.
Select File, then Info.
Select Message Resend and Recall
select Recall This Message
select one of the two options.
1. Delete unread copies of this message to recall the sent message.
2. Delete unread copies and replace with a new message to replace the sent message with a new message.
If you select Delete unread copies and replace with a new message, the original message opens for editing. When you select Send, the original email message will be deleted from the recipient’s mailbox and replaced with the newly edited one.
Select the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.
Select OK.
Go to your inbox, and you will receive a recall succeeds or fails message.
Message recall is available after you click Send and is available only if both you and the recipient have a Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange email account in the same organization
