    Take the power and ground loose on your amps and grab your multi meter and check for continuity on the ground lug to the outside of the rca terminals. If it makes a sound you will need a ground loop isolator!! Hope this helps

    Love the build. By the way, you can ground a wire on your head unit and slide it under the RCA that plugs into the 4 channel amp and it should kill the noise. I had to do it on my setup.

      He needs to wrap a bare wire around the head unit rca's and the other end to something metal. That's what I did and it fixed the problem. BigVell02 wrote and told me about that.

      I believe he had already grounded the rca on another video. What I have seen is that if he has low voltage on rca, the signal is weak, leading to set the gain higher / more sensitive, leading to the introduction of noise.

      I have a very weird problem. I would have same engine whine but only audible at volume 1. Volume increase to 2,3,4 and you won't hear it.
      So what's weird is when Im driving around in the city at some spots my front left speaker starts playing music which I guess is it's picking some radio signals. It would play this music at a low steady volume regardless of what volume is on head unit. One time during this occurrence, I turned off the HU and this music still keeps playing. I have no idea what exactly is that

      You can pay for additional insurance coverage for items/accessories installed in your car, including stereo. I had a $3000+ system stolen out of my 1990 Integra back in like 1999. I had additional accessories insurance coverage, and got back the full replacement value ($3000) of the equipment after providing receipts to Insurance company. I think it was maybe an extra $20 a month for that $3000 in extra coverage.

    I really like the Sundown X subs. Super clean bass.
    Check for continuity of the outer RCA terminal/Shield to the negative battery terminal on the amps. If both amps have continuity, you’ll get whine no matter what you do. An isolator might fix it.

  • @RickEnsink
    @RickEnsink Год назад +2

    The wining noise can be because the amp has a open ground circuit and the taramps has a isolated ground circuit (not shure tho). If this is the case you can try and connect the ground of your rca to the ground of your amp to bypass this and hopefully there wont be a ground loop tru your input signal.

  • @DibeezyTheGifted

    Ground loop somewhere. Test your ground potential resistance. Run a ground from your alternator to your rear battery bank and then ground everything to the battery bank for a single common ground. If you have to run your radio ground directly to the rear battery bank as well.

    If you have a Pioneer head unit, they tend to have pico fuses and if they pop I've heard that they will cause a engine whine.
    Another could be the ground on the head unit if you're using the factory vehicle harness ground, add a second ground to the head units black ground wire or run a dedicated ground wire as the factory harness could have a ground issue (found this out with a friend's vehicle)..
    Last option since you said all of your 4ch amps have had a whine, try a test head unit local to the amp just to see if it's in the wiring from the head unit in the dash or the head unit itself. If the whine goes away when using a test head unit then you could have a bad set of RCA's going to your 4ch amp where a wire is rubbing internally or the head unit in the dash has an issue or is bad..
    Good luck as I HATE engine whine 😆

    I dont know why so many people hate on Skar. Its good for what it is. @2:18 Most of us are not competing. Most of us dont have sundown money.
    I recently thought I killed my JP8 so I got an NVX2700. I am pretty sure the EVL15 wont last with this amp. My idea was to blow it and get a Sundown Zv2 cuz I thought it would match perfectly to that amp. Now I am finding out I can't get that sub. I finally have the money for the sub I want and now I cant get it, and now what's available will require more power than the amp I just got to use the full excursion. Unless I am mistaken.
    Just a testament to any people who dont have the money. The EVL line is the budget sweet spot for skar. The SDR line is junk. My EVL has been pounding since 2018 on a jp8. Its not liking the new amp though. Most speakers are over rated and match the amps accordingly
    Anyways Parker, you know what amp I got. I really wanted a zv2. What do you think will fully flex at 2500 watts real watts. I know sundown underrates. The skar was rated for 1500 but I am sure 1000 was what it was really rated for. I assume the zv2 rated at 1500 will max out at 2500. Shame all amps and subs cant be rated the same way so we dont have to guess.

  • @All2Skitzd

    To get rid of the noise first unplug RCA to make sure it's a signal problem and not them amp them plug them back on, take a length of wire stripped on both ends and start testing ground. Amp, to chassis, amp rca ground to chassis, head unit to chassis, head unit rca ground to chassis, etc. If that don't work, run a RCA over the seats to the amp and see if that fixes it before rewiring. On your headunit don't use just the factory ground on the harness

    So by total area cone displacement 2 18s is pretty close to 6 12s that's because the cones are deeper and bigger around and can move a lot more air round then a 12. I know a lot of people are gonna be like no it's 3 but that math is not accurate as you're not taking into account all the aspects. It all comes down to the amount of air you can move and 18s can move a whole lot. You can generally get more total movement from bigger subs as well. Although the tech on subs is always improving.

      Another thing is something Sam from barevids explains in detail. If one amp has a floating ground and the other is balanced. It could cause engine noise. He says to avoid this it's best to find both amps with same grounding for rcas.

    Too get rid of the engine whine+--Tale a piece of wire and run from one of the Jacks on the back of the Radio to a screw on the of the Radio.Dont matter which Jack you use-----Its works

    I would definitely redo your grounds on all of your amps they should be no longer than 18 inches.

    Thats forsure a popped pico fuse in that head unit. Pioneers and some other brands may have a pico fuse which grounds the rcas inside the head unit. Happened to my last pioneer unit, the pico fuse usually pops when rcas get unplugged with the head unit on or get shorted out somewhere.

      My experience with Marts and Expert Electronics whining is the same as Parker’s. It’s not the Pico fuse. As soon as I swapped amps the whine goes away.

    • @Chuck_Sanders
      @Chuck_Sanders Год назад

      @@jxke that's because some amplifiers have better noise filtering circuitry, then others that are cheaply built. Also, very good quality rca cables that are properly shielded, can be ran as he had it at first, With no issues of engine noise.

      @stevemaniaci4750 Год назад

      The pico fuse may have broke the connection from the shielded rca cable which ungrounds the cable picking up motor noise, white noise ,or winning

    In my 4runner I had to run a separate ground for the mids and highs amp. Previously I had the ground hooked up to my lithium batteries which had the engine noise

    Try running a separate ground to the chassis for your head unit if that doesn't work then I would test the rca output on it
