I bought my s2000 cause of gran turismo. It's really amazing how a game influenced my choice of car when I got older.

The real life car scenes just made me feel like I was watching old top gear lol. I wonder if they had the same director? The camera angles and style are like exactly the same

Yeah it felt more like a tutorial. The only making that I think they showed here is how the cars handled.

Porsche is exclusive to nfs from the year 2000-2016,just becuz EA made porsche unleashed and if you want a porsche in youre game in the 2000s,you also need to pay for a license from EA,thats why older racing games uses RUFs and gemballas,except forza who is willing to pay for the extra license from ea

Just grabbed my "Making of" DVD that came with GT 4 Prologue and I can confirm this is one of the videos in the DVD. This is called "Making of a driver". The DVD also includes a 2 minutes "Behind the scenes" video of footage related with this video, a "Gran Turismo 4 Trailer" video and a gallery of in game screenshots as well as some photos of track days and real world scenery that I assume were used as inspiration for building the game

The best moment of my life was playing Gran Turismo 4 as a kid.
I find it funny how the narrator keeps saying "computer game" but it was a Playstation 2 exclusive. But now you can play GT4 at 4k 60 fps on pc using pcsx2. Lol.

Might not sound great, but the C5 Z06 is one of the best driving cars in GT4.

The "Making of Gran Turismo 4' DVD that was included with Gran Turismo 4 Prologue" is almost the same as this, but a little bit different I think. It seems like there are some editing differences between the two, and this one seems shorter in length.
Finally got the chance to play Gran Turismo 4. What a real advancement compared to Gran Turismo 3. It's completely day and night.
Now they still forgotten the minor race cars such as IMSA GT, Super Taikyu and JTCC in order to become world famous.
Was there any difficulties at all? I know JTCC can be difficult since ATLUS sponsored it...
Those aren't really minor motorsports. And I believe the Spoon S2000 race car is a Super Taikyu car. There might be a couple more I'm forgetting.

There is "RUF" in the game. Its like that but yes, there is no porsche or even ferrari.
they couldn't put their hand on the licencing due to Lamborghini's stubborness and ferrari/porsche contracts with EA

What's the prolougue was that a different game after the real gt4
GT4 Prologue was the game before GT4. It was a kinda training to be ready for the full game.
GT1 - GT2 - GT3 Prologue - GT3 - GT4 Prologue - GT4 - GT5 Prologue - GT5 - GT6
Since GT5 they stopped developing prologue versions.
ALCLP There's no GT3 Prologue but there was couple demo's like GT 2000 and such.
jake78441 Prologue is basically demo version but bit more bigger and it has things like Licence Test (GT4P) and Race Events (GT5P). GT4P had like 60 or so cars!!! and that's for what i call a demo version of the game.
ToyGTone Wrong. A Demo is free and demonstrates something small. And all prologue titles were full prized (about 50 $), so not a demo.
it's not a demo i know, it's just feels like much bigger than a demo and at the same time much smaller than the full game.
Also an early access game on steam also cost money and yet it doesn't a lot of things (at very early stages of the game thought).
ToyGTone The difference is that when you buy a early access game on steam, you never have to pay again. In this case you need to buy both gt versions.

What the fuck? Is GT5 just a heavily upgraded version of this engine, or did they just port a lot of the cars from this game over to it?
They ported many cars to gt5.
ALCLP I know they ported them, but it looks like the same engine, and everything.
***** maybe it looks, but the feeling of steering the car is improved drasticly, maybe it looks same because the camera is static (simulator) not like other games like for example DiRT 3 (arcadish sim).
ALCLP That's a good way of looking at it, but the graphics themselves look similar, but heavily enhanced. Usually they don't start with a new engine, just enhance the one they already have. Look at GTA 5, and 4. Both on the same engine, but REALLY different from each other.

That Macintosh attached to the car's engine: There you have your explanation for the bad engine sounds. Poly tends to synthesize the sounds a bit, different to the Dyno recordings other developers in the industry resort to, like Turn10, for example.
The PS2 just couldn't handle all the detailed sounds. Especially if you have like 500 different car sounds. Even the release version of GT4 pushed the PS2 to it's limits.
@@Yoshik379 That's just simply too far-fetched, Enthusia was on the PS2 and included much realistic car sounds, but, your point about 500 car sounds is completely valid.
Turn 10 did it till Forza Motorsport4 then stopped until the release of Horizon 5
