I miss those days. Nascar was at its peak then IMO. The PC version of this was great, and I was a beta tester for it. I went back to the Papyrus sims fairly quickly though, but Heat was fun for more casual racing. Had no idea there was a playstation version.

A bunch of them are missing: #21 Elliott Sadler, #26 Jimmy Spencer, #66 Darrell Waltrip, #32 Scott Pruett, #94 Bill Elliott, #75 Wally Dallenbach, #10 Johnny Benson, #60 Geoffrey Bodine, #44 Kyle Petty, #42 Kenny Irwin Jr & #45 Adam Petty (both were briefly mentioned before the intro movie) and yes, #25 Jerry Nadeau all missing. Those are the ones featured in NASCAR 2001

Something I noticed that I didn't realize before, the roof number is facing the wrong way for the player car. It's correct on all the AI cars around you, but something in the coding got goofed and put the number in the wrong orientation

Your timing of videos has been perfect for me lately lol I just got into Saturday night speedway, Nascar PSP and now this game all right before your posts 😂

I remember this game having limited choices for camera angles. And they all were terrible. The PC version was really good for its time, a good 3dfx card made it arcade quality, which was rare back then. Still runs on modern computers too btw

The EA Sports games were better on console at this time

I have that for the PlayStation but I don’t play it much because the EA games are better for the PlayStation

I had to talk about this game for 5 seconds when starting recording NASCAR 08 PS3 which I'm putting out soon. This game... is just BIZARRE and discomforting overall.

Whether you’re playing it on the actual hardware or the emulator, it should play well because even Apple figured out how to make a PlayStation one emulator that they sold on legitimately back in 1998

I remember this game. It’s actually the only non EA NASCAR game I own on any console. This game is pretty bad, the Ai is stuck to a line, it’s pretty frustrating. The EA games had better physics on the PS1.

I had this version as well along with the PC Version and I must say, the PC Version is WAY better!
Either way, I’ll take the original NASCAR Heat Trilogy of this, Heat 2002 and Dirt To Daytona over the trash ass NASCAR Heat Reboot every day of the week.
Not to mention so many real life drivers from 2000 were missing from this game as well.

Agreed, imagine if EA didn't buy exclusive rights and we got a sequel to Dirt to Daytona in 2003? And the extra cool thing is it would have been published by Atari!

@@PaperBanjo64EA got exclusive rights in 2004. In 2003, there was NASCAR Thunder 2004 and NR2003.

@justinturley7071 right, apparently Monster just didn't make a sequel while they still could
