Definitely! As an INFP child I wanted nothing more than to fit in and be "normal", as I was bullied to no end and it was literally 'social suicide' to talk to me. Now with the world as it is, I am starting to feel like the 'normal one' and I gotta say.... I'm not ok with it😂😂😂

So basically INFPs have Inattentive ADHD? I used to think it was just me being an INFP, but realized I have Inattentive ADHD or ADD (outdated term) and that's why I have all these traits. I've assigned MBTI or Zodiac signs to myself, but it never helped. Finding out I was neurodivergent really changed the game for me and gave me reasons why I struggle in life so much while everyone around me succeeds. Excessive daydreaming, excessive thoughts that encroach on daily life, masking to fit in, feeling like an alien, bad memory for important things while remembering "unimportant" hyperfixations well, being clumsy or awkward, slow to open up to people because they never feel "seen" so they're scared to trust NTs. All ADHD traits.

I can relate to most points in this video except remembering movie plots, lines of dialogue. I have a hard time following plots because I get easily distracted and start daydreaming through tv dramas and films, so miss bits. I often don't remember important info. The things we are good at remembering are not wholly "unimportant." Even if they seem that way to others, they are important from our point of view because we can see connections that other people cannot. We remember those things because they help us understand things more thoroughly. Also, Idk if other INFP's do this, but I purposefully don't try very hard to memorize things that I can just as easily keep available in writing. This helps me free up more space in my conscious mind for problem solving. Why would I memorize all these birthdays if I can put them in a calendar and set reminders for myself? It would be like memorizing all the phone numbers in my phone.

As an INFP who's been around the block like 1-1/2, 1-3/4 times, lemme tell you, you belong everywhere. It doesn't matter if others think you're weird or not. It doesn't matter if you think you're weird, for that matter. I learned somewhere along the way what really matters is how comfortable you are in your own skin. Quit worrying about if you fit in or not. Let the company your in worry about that. If you're comfortable and confident in who you are, then there's not many places you can't walk in and feel like you're walking in your own home. A way to do that is not be a subject unto yourself. I took control of myself and made a "me" that I liked and wasn't always so critical of myself. Remember, not only are you master of your life, you're master of YOU.

Number 2 and 4 are so accurate. Till this day I still remember the stupid crap I did when I was a kid and literally quotes from videos and movies(holy shit how's this so accurate?).
And the conversation one, if there's an intriguing or heated discussion, I'll relive that moment over and over, breaking down the nuances, the context, the "way" they said it etc... trying to justify or sometimes seeing a different angle of perspective on it. I'll be honest, sometimes I'll ponder on it throughout the whole day and in between other thoughts and it's kinda exhausting.

I'm autistic also, so I get a double whammy of specialness. I never forget my kid's birthdays. I just forget names, and dates in general, because it's information overload. Not belonging in a world that is completely dysfunctional, is a sign of being sensible. We are intelligent, honest, authentic, and highly principled, which means our ideas are obviously better, and we can be trusted. People should listen to us more. Social norms are stupid. Small talk is excruciating. People jump into intimate situations too fast, and that's gross, and leads to bad things. Taking your time is what more people should do. This video is only convincing me that more people should be like us. We're not weird, everyone else is.

And he just stared at me for a while and then said: "Yeah, we met. Just in there. We talked for 30 minutes or so?" I swear, as soon as people walk out of the door, I seem to forget their faces...

Remembering only unimportant things? That sounded bad. All we remember is important to us. I may forget some birthdays because I don't care about mine at all, just like any holidays. A flaw in school and parenting in my opinion is that people tend to want kids to be alike. And if a child is not compatible with the teaching... sorry, the teaching is incompatible(!), then problems will arise.
In elementary school I was told to meet the school psychologist, because I often forgot the monthly money for eating in school and didn't really do homework.
He said he's never had a patient with such good memory.
He asked me to repeat random number sequences. We stopped at 6, then I had to say them in reversed order. He finally said 7 numbers but didn't wait for my response. I answered and wanted to keep going, but he told me to go back to attend class.
Edit: I did enjoy the video.

I'm an INFJ, but i share a lot of characteristics with INFP, like creativity, daydreaming, high sensitivity to name a few. My partner is an INFP, and so was my therapist. INFPS = forgetful (I would describe it as head in the clouds, instead of mindfully in the moment, either from being bored, or distracted by creative imagination), predictably awkward in social settings, and also uniquely awesome at the same time, and very empathetic, caring, and astonishingly protective/loyal: D I think the weird side of both types, and personality similarities go well together, and it is A LOT like a Seinfeld episode. Both INFP women I've known have helped me a lot to find balance, reconnect with personal identity, and encourage positive changes/growth. Despite certain shortcomings, I like you INFP's a lot, and appreciate your uniqueness from the rest of society!

Well, I tend to think that understanding on personality differences, MUCH earlier in life would help INFP people and those who get close to them. As an older person now, with three main relationships in my past, all of which had merit, I prefer now to live alone. I like the interaction with people I get in shops or dog walking. It is often sincere and real, due to the presence of animals, or due to the way the world is moving, but I do not want any permanent intimate relationships. Old friends, I can see or email now and then but I do not do it much. And like Allen mentions below, he is unlikely to recall a face or a name the next day if he just met the person. I am this way as well. Now that I understand how my differences are more rare than I first thought, and how I do not need people in the same way many do, it opened up a greater appreciation for me for having these traits. And, I can value others for their differences too, in small doses though. Learning is a huge passion, creating, reading, analyzing and challenging my own thinking and that of others is a constant. And a way for me to learn more and learn better. Seeing and hearing why people feel and think about things is useful and brings more understanding.
