Plus, in most cases, it can out perform them up to 1.5x. 1. For single target, the damage buff is actually 18 + 6 = 24%. Not just 18%. 2. As a burst damage gem sharing the same duration with Roiling Consequence, Lament, Gloom Cash, Wulf, ... etc, the more burst damage gems you're utilizing the more you can get out of Mournskull. Very good synergy here. 3. The only cases where single-target damage matter are Challenge Rift, Vanguard and Gauntlet. There're plenty of mobs in the former 2 modes so you're getting 36% buff most of the time. In Gauntlet, there're minions around sometimes too. Edit: fixed premature-enter on the original comment.

Indeed, it improves other gems damage with same cd/activation. But still, an additional bonus compared to other 2s gems is still not enough for me. I tested mournskull against pain clasp as well and I didn't find it outperforming to be very honest. Not to mention 1.5x more damage.

However, such situation is far from any real game mode. - In PvP, burst damage and the 2 extra projectiles per sec might prove more useful than the strifed extra dmg %, which is only relevant in a lengthy 1v1. - In PvE, there're always minions around. They're scarcer in Gauntlet but teammates will be throwing bunch of burst-damage-buff to tip the scale in Mournskull's favor anyway. To check if Mournskull can outperform Pain Clasp on a particular build, just go to dummy. If the burst dps (first 10s) is 1.33x the sustained DPS (20s), then yes. Please suggest me to choose among Pain Claps, Viper Bites, Mourneskull, and ML? Moreover, when I wanna switch for a 5* (Maw- I know not strong but want its reso for clan war which doesn't Strife damage), what 2 x 2* gems I can keep? Thank you in advance
Gald to hear that. For myself I decided to stick to Pain Clasp and Viper just for convenience. I would also do recommend Vault it's quite underrated gem but along with RC and maw it is fantastic pvp combo especially for classes with at least a little bit of CC. Since we can extract power from 1 and 2 s I would just try different variants. Unfortunately I had to burn most of my 2 s due to the gem power lacking. I couldn't know that they turn game upside down though...
This gem will shine in PVP scenarios, typically attacking/defending the Vault, and for Vigil of Blades/Rite of Exile. These events occur frequently enough to consider the gem a keeper.

@raymondz3934 Gem activates itself during any attack which applies dmg buff. Afterwards it doesn't matter how many targets you attack. At rank 8, the minimal bonus in the description is 15% (at 2 stacks it is 18.8% exactly). To get max bonus (30% at rank 8) you need 4 stacks. On dummy, it's very easy to get 3 stacks, actually.
@ so the stack bonus isn't linear? well that's new to me, I thought u start with 15 and can get 20/25/30 with 2/3/4 stacks respectively. I know the damage boost buff can only be acquired when u activate the gem not while it lasts. and for the 3 stacks on dummy, I think u, as a ranged class, stand too close to the other dummy and siphon souls from both dummies😀
I normally agree with your assessments; however there are some discrepancies with this video. Firstly, you are using a rank 8 gem, which has a lower %. As others have pointed out, you are not factoring in the additional % from a single target when activated. Also, Gold Firmament is not ever going to give more DPS than Mournskull. The main point of GF is defense, which is only decent at higher levels. The attack is mid, at best, and I can't get it to create a firestorm, no matter how many fire skills I use. GF is certainly not a viable replacement for Mournskull.
I run bsj, rolling, pain clasp, fang, lament, mourn, berserker, entropic as tempest. My dmg output is extremely overtuned for all pve content (vids on my RUclips). 4 dupes away from r10 mourn and have crafted all dupes so far - haven’t had to buy a dupe. I find the gem to be great.
This gem was mean mostly for Tempest or Necro since them an their summons can reach the hitting multiple targets really fast , even simultaneously. so you will get the max dmg output more often then not. I 've notice that it triggers even when just your summons deal dmg not just your main character. but the range is limited It doesn't deal a whole lot of dmg if you already in inferno 4 . this is mostly for beginners to mid lv para 200-500. then the dmg stars to lower
Can you make a video about the Entropic Well 1 star gem? Its a new gem that increases the skill damage all the time no cooldowns and how this gem compares with a gem like mournskull or pain clasp.
Nice vid vk :) replacing fang or clasp with this gem is not a good plan agreed ^^ but why didnt you Highlight using it together with those? This gem his so good in pve as an additional dmg boost. Finally something that helps us to replace berserkers. Thats the main idea imo.
Because pve wise this gem isn't good or not enough for it's price 6/8k plat for one copy with average of 18% (best case scenario) while seled offers 18% for 60 sec after killing any elite + additional 4 % against elite mobs.
@CRAINE-Plays about max dmg I'm not sure either. As I mentioned in the video for the very short fights 36% might be good and except double dip effects this gem provides highest bonus. However even with extended durration it's 50/50 uptime to downtime. From what I tested it falls behind any regular 2s with 24%.
Yeah...I won't replace my r10 pain clasp for this... even though my damage bonus with it is 24 percent only, while Mourne skull is 36 max, pain clasp still better because it has no cooldown and the condition for the buff is very very easy obtainable/achieable

I have a rank 10 Mournskull; the damage increase is real. Some other 2*s are comparable in damage; however, they all have their drawbacks. If you want high burst damage on nearish range (half the screen) for 2/3rds of the gem cool down. This is the ticket.

Mournskull is a top 3 2* with Lament and Pain Clasp. Not a fan of the two bp gems who takes to long as a f2p player to get enough copies for r10. Works great in pvp and pve. Like with all gems it is all about synergies and the burst dmg is what you want to clear mobs and enemys the fastest.

My Tempest dps has gone up at rank 10 mournskull with rank 10 1 star gem in it replacing gloom clask in dungeons and raids. 🤷♂️
Well if your Gloom Cask was rank 2 yes, but if its rank 5/6 its much better than any 2 stars for Primary attack builds

Mournskull is a top 3 2* with Lament and Pain Clasp. Not a fan of the two bp gems who takes to long as a f2p player to get enough copies for r10. Works great in pvp and pve.
Like with all gems it is all about synergies and the burst dmg is what you want to clear mobs and enemys the fastest.
