Not sure I'd say gentlemanly, but he didn't really lose his temper either. Just expressed some annoyance. I mean, Bones is right... we judge players' entire careers on how many majors they've won... so it's only fair that we be expected to have the common sense and decency to be relatively still and quiet during their shots.
I must say Phil didn't blow up that badly, it's not like he cursed the cameraman out or engaged in a long tirade against the guy. All he said was "come on guys", his caddie and Darren Clarke were the ones who yelled a bit more. It was the crowd who in a rather pathetic attempt to suck up to Phil started screaming "get him outta here!!". It's amazing how much golf patrons will suck up to players....
I don't know if I'd call it sucking up to players or if I'd call it showing, appreciating, and acknowledging the need for the live spectators & press to follow the rules and obey proper etiquette on the golf course. Most do, and they fully expect it of the other patrons, more so at the Masters than anyplace else on earth.
Obviously this is barely a blip of "temper." Not surprising, with this guy. Happy guy from a great family with a great family of his own now. I can personally vouch for what a mensch he is, because of an experience involving one my kids and his encouragement after a bad experience on a high-school golf team. This is a guy with things in the right place, trust me.
Oh my goodness, Phil really did appear to lose his composure there!!! I've never seen such an outburst of emotions from a PGA Tour professional, that really was un-called for. I can only hope there were no small children in the gallery within earshot of this incident. How unfortunate for both Phil and the cameraman involved. Two men just trying to do their jobs.
"I've never seen such an outburst of emotions" - Lmao are you out of your mind? PGA professional at times drop F-Bombs and rant at crowds. You somehow think this is more extreme than those?
I'm watching this the same day I read about a little girl in a golf cart 45 to 90 degrees to the side of the golfer , who was her dad, and was killed by a shot to the back of her head. What are these spectators thinking standing in front of the ball! Golf is very dangerous !
Next thing you know, they will tell the crowd in NBA games to be quiet while shooting free throws and if the noise goes above a certain decibel, theres a penalty.
That's NOTHING compared to the dressing down Ernie Els gave that photographer next to the green. Can't recall what tournament it was, but this photog did that in Ernie's backswing TWICE - AFTER Ernie said something to him the FIRST time.
I've always thought they should have at least one tournament where the crowd can cheer the whole time, including while they're swinging. It's allowed in other sports, why not golf?
Can't they just use quieter cameras? Surely in this age of technology a camera can be design that doesn't make that annoying click. Wouldn't that be nice?
@@donziperk lol! Let me give you some worldly advice, i wish this was my advice, it was passed on from my grandfather: " leave the toilet seat up" ! Mom goes ballistic, Phil has nothing on any woman
If he was concentrating he wouldn’t have heard it.....he was listening for it to have something to moan about and release tension, it was either that or do an enormous fart.
Thats why PGA should start considering barring live audiences specially on majors. I mean this is not soccer where you can shout your heart out or press those cameras anytime you wish... Golf needs special concentration specially on your downswings.
Same thing happened to tiger on 18 72nd hole 1997 masters only he pull sniped wwwaaayyyy left and was only upset cause he needed to make par to hold the all time scoring record. Of course the God made par though haha
Jake Carlisle free throws are easier than driving up 18 when leading the masters Also all the noise wouldn't bother them it's the silence then the one click just as they're about to hit that causes problems
We're all human and encased in flesh that is often weak. So in both Tiger and Phil, I always wondered whether there was some other to those "clean cut" looks. Yes, there was, as we found out. I felt even the "outing" of Dr. Martin Luther King was really humanizing him, to my relief. I'm skeptical of anyone pushing a "saintly" public image. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," John 3:23, I think.
When did Tiger had that image? From day 1 of his career, if something like this had happened to Tiger, he would have had Steve Williams physical assault the cameraperson, take away his camera and break it, and he would have made sure the guy never worked another PGA tournament again. This is a guy who loudly complained once when a guy refused to putt out on the last hole when Tiger was about to win a tournament because the difference between missing or making his putt was the difference between coming in 3rd or 4th place, which for that guy was a huge deal financially and in terms of rankings, etc. And that was bith before AND after Tiger did the very same thing at the 2009 PGA Championship when came from behind and was leading Tiger by 3 strokes on the last hole, and Tiger refused to putt out to let this player who had never won ANYTHING before have his victory moment. Even though it meant nothing to Tiger since not only did he not need the money or the rankings, but he was already assured of 2nd place, with no reasonable way to win or to drop down to 3rd. Yet he still would not putt out, forcing Yang to have to temper his excitement after sinking his final putt because they had to wait for Tiger to finish up.
So funny how distracting they can let sounds be to them. They didn't force your "hand", so you should be able to control your "mind". Especially as a professional.....
A cameraman started his series of pictures right in the middle of Phil's swing. For a professional camera person, with press credentials to do that is absurd.
As a golfer, I realize that I am outside, lot's of noise. At a tournament, surrounded by people...no shit...noise. Thought these folks are "professional golfers".... if they cannot handle a camera click/shutter sound..... would not call them professional. I could understand if folks were tossing rocks or sticks at them....
Such babies. Basketball players have to run around being hounded by opposition players stop on a dime and maintain perfect shooting technique while 20000 people scream their asses off and wave all sorts of distractions. True athletes man. Not grandpa hitting a rock
I don't understand how golf, which is supposed to be a gentleman's game, is played, treated and watched so intensely that everything has become anything but gentlemanly. On both sides of the rope. When there's a clear disruption during a swing, why not allow a mulligan? And penalize players who angrily thumps his club into the turf? Everyone should just take a chill pill.
That will add a lot of time and inconvenience. The rule officials will have to come over, check and ask for evidences, because anyone can lie. There will be lots of borderline cases and the rule officials will take like 10-20 minutes to make a decision.
Don't Worry keep in mind, throughout the entirety of the time during a baseball game, there is never silence. You get used to constant noise until it feels like it's not there. If there were constant noise during golf it wouldn't be as bad, but quick bursts of noise in silence are more distracting than large amounts of constant noise
Baseball players can hit 30 degrees right and get away with it. Golfers hit 5 degrees right or left and they are in trouble. In golf every shot counts, 1 bad shot can make a difference of 1$ M USD, there are a lot more pressure involved.
Ironically one of his straightest drives
Cornwall1888 Well he did drive it straighter that week than any other week besides maybe 05 PGA or 02 US open
He needed that cameraman on the 18th hole at Winged foot
savage
Funnier because it's true. At least it was in the FW.
Cornwall1888 he didn’t want it straight, hence setting up on right side of tee boxes. If a pro hits a straight ball, it’s by accident
I do love that Phil's most extreme temper loss is still "oh come on guys"
If you think that’s bad you should see him at the bookie
Come on guys it's the maaaaaaasters for cryin out loud!!!
Ray Ferrero that was bones
Damn you people! This is GOLF not a rock concert!
"That's TWO, thus far, Shooter!"
Travis C oh you can count
@@lovingyou2301 and YOU can count..on ME waiting for YOUUU in the parking lot!!!

For Phil this is pretty much stabbing the guy for taking a picture
That's because he is a gentlemen
That's how he is. He's a mensch in ways people don't even know.
Thanks for uploading this.
Helped him hit a fairway. He should have his caddie play the camera sound effect.
LMAO
I golf with my dad and he actively tries to fart in the middle of my backswing, I still hit the fairway.
Hope he sharts sometime.
Sneak some laxatives into him
Lmao 😂
Nothing better than a fart on the tee for a bit of childish fun.my mate does it all time like a mallard
I would wager that Phil's average shot equals the salary of the average American.
Hot damn the sound of that driver whipping through.
I must say Phil didn't blow up that badly, it's not like he cursed the cameraman out or engaged in a long tirade against the guy. Bones literally gave me the finger in anger once!
Eric Walsh did it go in deep?
American Golf fans leave a lot to be desired.
Title should read "Phil Mickelson is human after all"
Dickelson is a baby after all!
Gotta love Phil, gets pissed for like 5 seconds then can't help but crack a smile
wow 480p, its been so long, i cant say i have missed you
Of all the saddest resolutions posts, this is the dumbest and most virginally pathetic.
The old ft3 or 5 driver, lovely sound off it
I love the sound of that swing
Great to see Darren Clarke getting 'involved'.
Just easing the tension baby! Just easing the tension
Phil is so amazing..he NEVER loses his cool..🙄
At least he didn't have to hit it off of Frankenstein's foot!
Those two weeks, with his dominate win at Sugarloaf a week earlier, was probably the best golf Phil has ever played.
Was that cameraman working for the Securities Exchange Commission?
Random annoyances wouldn't matter much to me, If I'm going to fuck up a shot I'm going to fuck it up lol
I’ll need to rewind, I missed the part where he lost his temper
😂😂😂
Even when angry he is a nice guy.
Can’t believe they let people line up like that so close to that close to fairway
I cant believe a little noise would distract a player like Phil. His mind should be a steel trap
those cameramen are not golfers.
Good shot
People are sick and tired of the media EVERYWHERE.
All of that gallery standing along the opening path of your drive................
COOOME ON!
Damn you people
Dammit people this is golf.

Shooter McGavin
For crying out loud!
I could use a camera guy clicking away when I drive. Maybe I'll get in the fairway more often.
no.
"Hey-PHIL!"
Oops. Sorry...
goat
Don't try that tomorrow at Beth Page, Black, Phil!
Straight Down The Middle
What about the loud chirps of the northern cardinal? That doesn't t seem to bother him.
Phil not happy cos it went into that horrible short grass in the middle and not where he usually drives it to
Every other sport the crowd (usually tens of thousands) is as loud as it can get.
Why don't they ever show tiger tantrums
Goddamn public courses
I love these fans sticking up for the players as if these players give two flying fucks about them

Yeah man, golf and basketball are totally the same sport
In this day and age....can they make a silent camera.
Nice shot though
The only time i have seen him mad was when he was asked to pay up on his sports betting because he tried to stiff em!
Tiger would have cursed at him and his caddie would have broke the camera
I heard Ringo Starr saying what are yea doing
Liverpudlian is not Australian
Think clarkey might have reacted a bit more had it been in his swing lol big Phil never looses it
That's NOTHING compared to the dressing down Ernie Els gave that photographer next to the green. Can't recall what tournament it was, but this photog did that in Ernie's backswing TWICE - AFTER Ernie said something to him the FIRST time.

Phil didn’t say much considering this guys taking pictures and his backswing
Do people get drunk before they go to these events?
Americans appear to.

Yep the one you can turn off.

hey Phil, got any good stock tips?
There was actually nothing wrong with the first shot... I think
imagine if they had to swing under the conditions of how the nba players have to shoot a free throw
Jake Carlisle free throws are easier than driving up 18 when leading the masters
Also all the noise wouldn't bother them it's the silence then the one click just as they're about to hit that causes problems

That’s not losing his temper lol, he’s completely in the right
