Listen to Skinny Love at 2X speed for a good time
if Mumford & Sons did skinny love
u the best for this
@@peterm8286 🤣🤣🤣yo why would it still be good though
Never thought a bunch of dudes that look my high school football coaches could play such amazing music.
This is the best and most accurate comment on RUclips.
Usted tiene toda la razón.
That's called talent my friend.
Not a fan of skinny love
Best guitar player I've ever heard rides a garbage truck for his living.
I pray that everyone who reads this will become successful in their life
THE FACT THIS MUSIC EXISTS.. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
The biggest regret of my life so far is not going to this concert.
My girlfriend, Emma (yeah), had just broken up with me a week before, and I had just witnessed one of the greatest concerts of my life with The Minds of 99 with my friends.
I did not want to spoil the good mood after that, but most of all I did not want to spoil my own good mood by crying. Because I know I would. I have listened to Bon Iver all my life, and I knew that this would break my heart. Espacially just after Emma had left me out of the blue.
So I didn't go. I sat 100 meters away with my friends and drank a beer or two. But deep down I knew that it would be good for me to go. I just couldn't.
This music is the strongest ever, and the fact that I could not pull myself together to face my sadness and grief is kind of tragic.
But loss is a part of life, and Justin Vernon and Bon Iver has helped me realise that, and I hope that others have the courage to face an emotional concert like this, even though I could not. Trust me, it helps.
It's sad you couldn't face it but there will be another opportunity. It may not be at such a poignant moment but when you do see him it will help with the healing and I think that regret will disappear. Hope your heads in a somewhat better place now. x
Thank you for the story! Now I know what to do it such situation
All of Bon Ivers concerts hold this quality though. You will be able to make up for it.
WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN LOST.......
"We ain't gotta look for confirmation" "WOOOOO!" 😆 loving the energy of that guy in the crowd when Justin starts singing.
My god. Every moment of this speaks so vividly to my heart and life. Never has every line and drum beat felt so clearly like every pain I've ever known. It's intensely freeing to experience. This music is my church.
I'm the guy that can be seen slightly hidden away to the right, but still with the ugliest of all faces, crying my eyes out during Skinny Love at 1.21.49. I can assure you, those were tears not tears of sadness, but rather of being absolutely punched in the gut and in the feels from 8 (Circle), ___45___ and, most of all, Holocene in quick sucession, and feeding off of the totality of what this amazing, amazing band provides. Those are the kind of experiences that you can't really succinctly describe with one or more words. Maybe my ugly crying face itself kind of does it best.
Right now, with all that's going on in the world, I really miss those kind of experiences.
it’s just incredible how bon iver can just completely take over our emotions like that with pieces of music alone. what an wonderful artist Justin is, and what a wonderful band he has with him.
These guys are so good. Would love to see them live. I wish this was an album!!!
Thank you for sharing your story. I would for sure cry at a live concert myself. NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW OFC! I DIDNT CRY A LITTLE LISTENING TO THIS! OH NO SIR! Im a grown ass man damn it!
You are absolutely not ugly. And it made me feel a connection to see you as I am bawling my eyes out sitting in the couch with my beloved cat beside me, seeing the sun set in the corner of my eye. I love crying to music, just letting go. It doesn't even have to remind me of something or be something I relate to, sometimes the music is enough to make me cry, simply because it is beautiful. Sometimes the right notes just push the right strings in my soul to release something from my subconcious.
I miss live shows, where time just stops for an hour or so. And everything is right in the world for those precious minutes. Not all shows are like that, but every once in a while, they come by, and you just feel like you just saw a preview of what heaven would feel like.
Happy, peaceful and full of love.
@@DonChillum You just word for word described the exact scene that I just experienced while watching this. Thank you for putting it into words. Love to you, fellow heart.
That performance of wolves act I and II was by far one of the best performances I’ve EVER. SEEN. PERIOD.
I wasn't there but I could hear it loud and clear from my apartment on Silkeborgvej while crying under my pillow out of jealousy for not being there, trying to get sleep before work the next morning.
When that sax starts 22 over soon, the chord progression played is absolute perfection.
it's 1hr 30mins but it took me 2.5hr to finish it. I just keep repeating songs, watched it again with eyes closed. What a transcending experience! 22, 8, 666 & Creeks always superior, but Woods really broke me here...like my heart ripped open from all kinds of emotions. Bless them!
Love how they keep rearranging the songs and keeping them fresh. Saw Bon Iver at the Fox Theater in Oakland, 2016. Similar set list, slightly different arrangements. Best concert experience of my life.
Woods literally broke me. What in the world. Bon Iver forever.
Justin Vernon sings “8” and I’m like “Just go ahead and pull my soul right out of my body.”
S Carey killing this set damnnn
he's such a beast
Incredible musician. One of the most genuine guys I've ever met as well.
This whole set was absolutely perfect, but this particular performance of Blood Bank gives me chills.
Backed.
swear this man has a direct line to whatever god, force or thing thats running everything
this their best live performance available on youtube and it's not even close. every single fucking arrangement slaps.
Whenever I feel high or low, I find myself coming back to this amazing collection of music. I don't think any other body of musical work has inspired so much love and sorrow simultaneously in my life. I've been waiting 5 years to see Bon Iver live, and I'll have to wait at least another year, but in the meantime, this concert will continue to help me get through the good and bad. Thank you Justin and Bon Iver, for the joy you bring us all ❤️
listen to a band called IDLES, they capture raw feelings.
I have no idea what a single song is about but I’ve loved Bon Iver for quite some time now. So powerful, so haunting, so melodic.
ditto
Might be the greatest band live. Every note is precise. Every live video I see of them is seamless. Even if a lot of it’s auto tuned. I’d put it up to anything
THIS VERSION OF 22 OVER SOON BRINGS TEARS
holocene is one of the great songs of all time. up there with graceland by paul simon and like a rolling stone
Excuse me, but have you *heard* Beth/Rest and 33 GOD?
He's amazing, but I have to agree Adam. Holocene stands out as particularly special for me as well.
And the music video is spectacular too!
...hey there, got myself a tattoo on my right arm with the first verse of holocene. For years holocene was my fave BI- song, but then saw on YT the one to one version of heavenly father, i`m still speechless!!!!
Even listening for over 10 years. Bought all the vinyl. Fav band of all time❤️❤️💯
I need to see Bon Iver Live!
He’s so good. Saw him last year in Raleigh, NC before Covid went down. Amazing show. He had Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak, Flock of Dimes, Dirty Projectors) touring with him. Just a beautiful show. Opening act was Feist.
I've seen him twice on two different tours. As someone whose made a life from attending shows, he's by far - - one of the most experiential performances to catch. Especially since the Grateful Dead stopped touring in 95.
That setlist though!!

1:04:25 . I get shivers. Goosebumps. I must learn drums, or keyboards, something……
Sean Carey is having the time of his life playing Perth
Good Holy God!! Sean Carey in "The Wolves" 😲 Jesus Christ! He absolutely owned that!
Holy crap they intensified Blood Bank by about 900% what a friggin jam that was
For this situation rn (lockdown in my country), watching bon iver live is the mental therapy
Same bro 🙏
So grateful for the drummer-cam during Perth. So great to see that energy
The last minute of Blood Bank is a masterpiece!
pure magic. absolute and pure magic. thank you Bon Iver:D
set lists were so much better when i,i didn’t exist
This is definitely one of my most favorite live performances
Holy freaking crap this version of "Woods," y'all.
Mental!!!! 🥹✨🫶🏻
watching S.Carey during Perth is making me so happy

Underlig kommentar
Same! Saw them at All Poinst East last June and have never heard a live show that good, especially on a festival. Can't wait for the new tour!
OMG this is better than the NPR!!! i thought i would never find a better performance!! I like his uber experimental projects, but sometimes i think it goes further than my liking. this just the right amount of Bon Iver :) cheers all
Agreed! I’ve been watching the NPR show nonstop and now I can’t get over this one!
There’s no words really! I can’t explain their music and why would I even try! It’s otherworldly. Seen them live twice once in London the other North Carolina. Still blown away by it. This shouldn’t exist but it does, thank god.
That version of Calgary soothes my body
have you heard this one? amazing ruclips.net/video/01YD6v5TYqs/видео.html
@@scottgamble3398 If you wouldn't have done it, I would have send him the same link. One of the best Live Recording of a Track. They should release a whole DVD from that Opera gig!
@@videovideometameta still dreaming of the full Opera gig.
Give this engineer(s) an award! Insane band too but damn.
Why is no one talking about how beautiful Creeks is live?!
be the one!
715 Creeks is always beautiful brother
sean carey is so talented, very underrated
HIs solo albums are great.
@@squeakeththewheel totally, i have rose petals lyrics tatooed. he does so many things in bon iver, helps writing and plays a lot of instruments, an all around amazing musician. people tend to think bon iver is justin vernon but forgwt about mike and sean
contemporary masterpiece...Wolfgang would approve. Bonkers!
How am I only just discovering these guys in 2022
Welcome to the community, be sure to check out Justin's bands "Big Red Machine" and "Volcano Choir"
Check out Novo Amor too
@@jesscarter9176 and Deyarmond Edison
I happen to think that this might be the greatest live performance ever. I've seen Peter Gabriel, Prince, George Michael, Madonna, Michael Jackson amongst many others and I really stand firm that Justin might be the best??
music is not a competition
i can't get over how 8 (circle) was performed here. damn. i feel alive.
715 - CREEKS GOT ME CRYING
This has all the love I was missing from the last two records.
Just started listening to to these guys and just Wow!!! Amazing, heartfelt sounds. Looking forward to listening out for new songs!!
Just remarkable how this band and Justin can make you feel so happy, sad, content, and depressed at the same time. It's amazing. Love this.
Love the drummer tempo/rest moment Sean and Matt have during the breakdown of Perth, so good
I have got to say that it is so refreshing to see a large audience actively listening; as though they all understand that this is a unique experience to them and they want to be able to take it in and appreciate everything for what it is. Typically crowds and people need to be slop-silly drunk and screaming all over the music. Maybe it was just too cold and wet on this night for the latter to occur. Either way...amazing show!
I think it's a slowly evolving thing. I went to an Andy Shauf concert in Tennessee and even though it was full of younger folks, it was very much a celebrate the end and sway with the song during kind of atmosphere. =)
Chad you ever been to a Bon Iver show?
@@xCANCEROUSJAEx Unfortunately I have not. Someday maybe...you?
Because it’s not a concert , it’s an artists journey , told through lyrics , lights , emotions .. sounds .. it’s a masterpiece!
Maybe they're Danish :-)
Socrates still on the drums, I see. Happy this makes me.
This set list is something else
Could watch Sean and Matt drum to Creature Fear all day long, absolute mind blowing performance!! Roll on October 2022 in Glasgow
i really enjoyed this one
I think this is how heaven sounds ..
Yep.
in some interview i saw with justin he pretty much says who cares about heaven we have right now
@@andreen4536 screw the future: always a beneficial mindset /s
This is as near perfection that something in life can get. Amazing
Somehow making incredible studio recorded songs sound even better live
Right?! I’ve been listening to this more than the albums I have 🤙🏻
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS! OMG
I absolutely love this show. It’s such a bummer that what ever amateur mixed it made it half the volume of a normal video
In argentina you've got a fan! Great music!!
Min 47" it's like from another dimension, it's heavenly. This band is wowie!
AMAZING
I heard the Paolo Nutini reference- Danka!
Love Bon Iver!
bless bless bless you for sharing this ❤️❤️❤️
Great Music-Great Show!
This is my medicine . Thank you!
songs like Flume...heals!
Man!!!! The Wolves!!!! So epic!!!
this performance of Skinny Love is just magical
This one and KEXP 22 presentations are masterpiece. Amazing! Tks for sharing
Thank you
I think and know he is amazing 😉
Wow what a quality. This is gold!!!!!
For those wondering who the drummer w the wild looking fro is, that’s Matt, who as become somewhat of a mentor of mine over the past year or so as a musician myself. He is fantastic.
The drummers of this band are so nuts! I really think the layers they can achieve with two drummers rounds out all the other stuff they have going on in their tunes. 666 is the perfect example imo. The drums make that song! Very cool that you are being mentored by a straight G.
alex hanhardt Yeah man when they are both playing, the parts really aid each other in making a great feel/texture to the music.
The opening song is something else! It got to me!
This Band ist so fine ilike bon iver verry great
BRILIANCE !!
Just found out about this band from my nephew, Awesome 👏
This is beautiful
Thank you very much, I was there too. It was beautiful rainy night. I hope you wont ever delete it.
I would never delete it! RUclips, however, may not share that opinion... But let's hope it can stay up. Also, I was there too, and what a night man!
god this is so good
saw them live in Wisconsin last summer. So amazing how they keep it fresh, keep you guessing. It’s haunting.
Totally !
thank you. thank you. thank you.
One of finest out there...
Music is so special
This intro is out of the world. WOW
Wolves was like a marching beat
The take on Towers here is absurd 🔥🤌
Un chouette rappel du rock progressif qu'on n'entend plus malheureusement ... j'adore ! petit clin d'oeil à YES !
