Hi Anthony. As an avid porn watcher, I'm not sure how I feel admitting that I don't think I've ever seen any of your work, but I'm absolutely thrilled that you aren't ashamed of it being part of your past.
To make a living in art is a dream come true. Although I've been an artist since age 7, I lacked the entrepreneurial drive to do more than just dabble. He took risks that paid off. All the more power to him.

So happy to have found this interview and see you are thriving. I read in the comments you’re 59… you’ve just became “goals”. I hope to look like you “when I grow up”! Stunning human
Great story and congrats to you for all of your success! Your past helped to shape you into who you are and that's a great human being.....nothing wrong with that at all. This was a good video!!!!
Thanks for the glance into a part of your life and congratulations with all of your success. Bjorn was a favorite source of visual stimulation during that period of my life. I’ve appreciated those who are willing to share their bodies beyond my personal boundaries and still do. I consider much of porn as art just as I do music. Both allow me to tap into my emotions. I wouldn’t want anyone who is willing to share of themselves to suffer as a consequence of my joy. I’ve often wanted to thank these artists so am grateful for this opportunity to do so to at least one of them.
What a wonderful man being true to he is. We all do things that at the time make perfect sense to us at the time but later on might not be who we are at the moment. Doesn't make them shameful. It's just that others are judgemental about some of those things and will use them against us
You know something, Anthony.,.. when you did porn, AIDS was still a 100% fatal disease. Your work helped million reduce their risk through alternative and SAFE activities.
Such a beautiful story. I am so happy for his success and for others like him who have moved on from porn to carve out great careers after porn. We need more stories like this because too many people see porn as this industry that leads to death and destruction, and it is that stigma why some in the industry ended up living the stereotypes of drugs and excess. Porn stars are humans who deserve respect for their craft.
Yes!!! Own your authenticity! I suffered long and miserably because for my first 50 years I wasn’t true to myself. Now in my authentic self, I proudly state I’m a gay man with a colorful experience!
Straight Ally for The LGBTQ+. I'm not gonna lie as i did watch a few Gay Adult films when i was in my teens. I was still trying understand what was the big deal was about what gender you liked and I was raised Christian but also raised that love is love. Now that I'm older and I watched some of those type of movies again i can see (not sure how to word this right) for those who may be uncomfortable about this type of films do to it not being the normal intercourse (I'm was at that time still trying to understand the way that men have sex with each other) when they were younger but for me now it is no different than a love scene in the normal movies other than a little more skin being shown and some very good yoga skills in some of the movies. The people who complain about Pron films are most likely the ones that watch them but don't want to admit it. This man should be proud of who he is as it does take a lot of courage to come out about his time doing adult films for which for me there is nothing wrong with doing those films. As well as he took power away from any one that wanted to shame him for being in Adult films by revealing that he had been in the films.
This man worked to create a strong thriving business that became rather elite with rather wealthy clients. His past life experiences in the gay porn industry had a much better and more acceptable opinion within that specific world. A fellow who is otherwise rather ordinary and lives a less posh lifestyle exists in a world that may not be as kind, open, and receptive toward his past life experiences in the gay porn industry. Most of the time our diverse life stories are embraced or rejected depending on our social, economic, popularity positions in life. The businessman in this video was kind of protected from harsh rejection due to the wealthier social class of people he was most involved with in the world. This unfortunately doesn't apply to everyone. Gay men are routinely discriminated against just because they're gay. Things are getting better. The fellow in this video serves as an example of how all people can be accepted in life with respect when everyone else allows well meaning folks a chance to do their best.
@@Theyralltakenfu Very true. Intelligence of all kinds plus lots of life experiences and meeting different kinds of people makes huge differences in how people accept each other. ...I've actually met a few gay men who rejected straight people because straight people had always rejected them...this happens especially when families reject their gay family members and often throw them out, even throwing out underage children. When governments & law enforcement & school systems & organized religions reject gay people then finding acceptance is tough. Things are getting better...we have marriage equality, but some conservative politicians & organized religions are seriously working to undermine gay people in other little ways to make our marriage equality have less value and respect.

I had a similar experience like this guy so I understand where he's coming from. I used to do gay porn. I never regretted what I've done or anything but I had put that part of my life to the side because I moved on to a different path that became a career. I have actually had coworkers or people that were in the gym / grocery store that have said to me things like I know you from somewhere. I would never tell them from where. I would just say well you know maybe we go to the same gym or something like that or there were other advertisements that I was on and I would just mention those but I would never mention the porn thing unless they have figured it out. Then sure I don't mind admitting to it because I'm not ashamed of it in any type of way. I had to do an interview one time for something and I feared that possibly that may have come up and I almost backed out of the advertisement and interview but I said the exact same thing to myself that his friend said. How I like to live in a country where I can be myself without judgement, just my real me. Ufortunately I live in the Dominican Republic where gay people are treated different.
@Enrique Vasquez I sympathize with you. I’m not gay, I’m transgender, you can take that for what it’s worth, I no longer care how gays feel about me. But I only want you to know that it is a lot easier being gay in the US than it is being trans. Every day you hear about some politician trying to get rid of or prevent trans people from living their lives somewhere in the US. I managed to move to another country because I was tired of that struggle, among other reasons, and there are countries where I can live as a transgender woman and not put up with hate. I hope one day you too can experience the liberation I now enjoy.
@@lizsavage1178 Your message is so uplifting, Liz. Thank you for sharing it. It's truly heartbreaking to realize how many amazing and creative trans people we may be losing as a result of the bigotry, irrational hate and fear of those who are different from the 'accepted' norm. Hope you are thriving in your truth whereever you are. Blessings.
@@joshnosher3536 thank you for your kind words and I’m very happy that my words have touched you in such a positive way. It’s my way of furthering the cause and yes I am thriving in my adopted home of Ecuador even though I’ve only been here just over a month. Finding “home” was a lifelong struggle, but well worth it and it’s something I wish for all my trans sisters and brothers especially and all of the lgbtq community at large as well.
Everyone has a different story. There is a truth in this one that everyone should identify. When we deny a thing, anything, it haunts us. When we own it, we take away its ability to manifest in negative ways and make it difficult for others to use it as a weapon or leverage. When we fully embrace and accept every aspect of ourselves we are free. Ah, for the days when more people feel free. Best wishes to all. Be your whole self.
I remember that interview and It bothered me profoundly that they would broach the subject. I lost a great deal of respect for npr that day and have never given them a dime since then. I have to confess until I listened to the interview I had no Idea who you where. I also have to confess that I cannot know what the interviewers motivation was, in my mind it was suspect low class and cheap. The most vulgar form of sensationalism. You however I respect for your freshness in handling a third rate broadside. Enough said.
Since I'm probably one of the few men who hardly ever watch prn (only when friends share with me a video they went nuts for, pun intended!), I wanted to immediately dislike this story. But he sounds so humble and relatable, and I love the closing message. Own and embrace your truths even if they seem embarrassing, especially these days when others can easily spread lies about you. (I can definitely relate to that.) Speak your truth, apologize for some past poor decisions if needed, and be a great role model. Most people will respect you for that.
Yes. Just like Fredrik Eklund aka Tag Eriksson who did a few porn videos before becoming a successful, NYC real estate broker. Somebody interviewed Fredrik once and brought up his past and he responded with "Yes. That was me. It was a good time but like every chapter in the book of our lives, that one has been closed and I've moved on". The interviewer couldn't own it any more and had to change the subject.
Hi Dentaltech1000 Well you are correct I did not share my stage name , as most actors in the indusrty as least back then never used their real names, also because that is not what the interview is about but rather about facing ones fears acknowledging past decisions and instead of being afraid that something could impact ones professional career later in life that for me when I was honest about it, it no longer could be a wepon to hurt me,, my businesses or those that were dependent on me for their livelihood. Is it true that i did films ? well yes I dont have any reason to lie about it, nor do I believe the guys that created this wonderful format would encourage false statments.however if you do search me you will find the other accomplishments of my life as a jewelry designer that are actually far more intersting than seeking out old porn that I was in. its honestly really not that fascinating. My goal here was to share my journey in that that others would actually see that I made a career as a business man and designer that was far more impactful than any old porn film.on the other hand one of the great things is that the films have given me the abilty to share my story to maybe help others who may feel that they might not overcome others judgment of past decisions (not mistakes) but decisions. Cheers and if you really dig, I am sure you can find those films if thats really what's most interesting to you
Ah Jordan it was not meant to be and I appologize if Imade it sound like he thought he was all that, it was an honest conversation from a customer who thought that I would know who he was as he was well known , he truly was and is one of the nicest men Ive had the pleasure of knowing and handome too. My truth is that I have had same sex attraction my entire life and absolutely HATE that about myself. I know everyone says that I'm self loathing and what not but I 100% genuinely do NOT want to be gay. I do not identify with anything about homosexuality other than the sex with men part. No other aspect of it appeals to me. I do not want to be emotionally involved with a man. My problem is that I have zero attraction to females and don't want an emotional relationship with them either. Totally screwed! I wish with every fiber of my being that I were straight.
@@a32tl I can relate to not feeling anything physically for females...and wishing I was straight...but I've come to be at peace with being gay. My only issue now is that I stayed in the closet until I was 45, I'm 61 now, and really wish I had started living life when I was much younger. If you are good with going through life alone them proceed as you are. I never was but was too much a coward to face being gay in my youth and so I hide from life. I would suggest you do some real soul searching as to how you want to live your life. When I was younger I sought out comfort in material things and that worked for a while but in the end sharing your life with another person is what I really wanted and never persued to my ever lasting regret. I don't know how old you are but as I said...do some REAL soul searching and then act upon it. You only get one turn in life and once the years have passed you by there's NO getting them back. Take it from one who knows...
I think the point is being missed here. It isn't whether any kind of film is art. Caligula was definitely art and it had a couple of hardcore porn sences in it. It think the question should be one of self worth. If you are comfortable doing porn then go for it. However the gay porn stars from the 1970's to date have died. Whether by disease, self harm or being physically run down by the lifestyle these are beautiful young men who are gone. Just make sure it's what you want and if there's doubt reconsider it.
True to a point - many gay porn stars have died - but many more have not. The vast majority of those who died young, died of AIDS and they were the stars from the 70', 80's and early 90's. Not all from that era died though - a number of prominent porn stars of the 80's and 90's are still with us. Once AIDS became treatable and chronic, far fewer died of the disease. Most of them do it for a brief period in their lives and then go on to very normal lives. I even know of one guy from the early 1990's who is commonly listed as having died by suicide, but actually, that was made up. He wanted out of the business completely and didn't want people approaching him about his past, so he off'd his porn self. He's really alive and just living a normal life.
What a positive message, not only to gay people, but to anybody struggling to be who they are (almost everybody, I suppose!). Thank you Anthony.
So true. I appreciate you sharing your story. It is encouragement to the rest of us.

@@lizsavage1178 Well said sister
@@lizsavage1178 God bless you in your adopted home. Ecuador is a beautiful country.
Wonderful advice. Thank you.
Excellent advice! Be true to yourself! Then you can truthful with everything else!! The world become your oyster…
A beautiful truth, you stood in your truth, and ppl move on, because we all have skeletons, congratulations.

Hi Brian , thanks for your post and yes , it sometimes takes us awhile to get there, but when we do its freedom xo
@@anthonycamargo1858 Ur welcome.
Great advise… take ownership for your actions!
The interviewer couldn't own it any more and had to change the subject.
thank you for your message xo
Well, I know what I'm doing tonight. Hmm. I wonder if the he was talking about Madonna. She's the first name that came to mind.
An internet search does not reveal any porn actor by the name of Anthony Camargo.
Cheers and if you really dig, I am sure you can find those films if thats really what's most interesting to you
@@anthonycamargo1858 Well said! Thanks.
True…. Love your advice
People who lead with “do you know who I am?” 😒🙄
Ah Jordan it was not meant to be and I appologize if Imade it sound like he thought he was all that, it was an honest conversation from a customer who thought that I would know who he was as he was well known , he truly was and is one of the nicest men Ive had the pleasure of knowing and handome too. Best to you Anthony Camargo
where can we see your films?
Interesting man

Your past should not dictate your future. As long as you don't do anything that hurts others then what's the problem?
Wonderful experience!
Awesome 👏 video. Amen 🙏
People can and do weaponize your past against you. They do it every time you look for a job. Family and "friends" do it too.
You’re absolutely right. Very true!
i am learning that many people here do it too, it saddens me that the community that we think we think will be supportive that there are some that are just so cruel, unkind and mean Thanks again Andy for your support. Anthony Camargo
I have a feeling that he's talking about Lady Gaga.
I want to know his stage name, he's very sexy.
Please, I wanna know too!

I wish I had lived my gay life...sigh.
Good on ya though bud...this is what happens when you aren't a coward about who you are...life rewards you.
Honestly pays out in the end.
Kristen Bjorn 😍
And, all these decades, I thought Kristen Bjorn was a woman...
where are those movies ,,,,
Amen brother
Great guy!
Strong. Beautiful. And true.
Great story...
@@ScottA2345 One of the most famous gay porn stars of that era - Jeff Stryker - is alive and well and now doing real estate!
