Seeing it next to yours, I'm now not so impressed with the official set for the single reason that yours really lets the light in better so you can see the floors much better. Great to hear your thoughts on it. I confess, it's on my list to get when I can afford it.
Its a great set and a lot of fun to build. I used 1x4x6 windows so mine is a lot easier to view the inside. But like I say also I built mine for display and the official set is built with playability. I think its worth the investment for people that love marvel and want an interesting building.
I have no problem at all with the slight inconsistency of your slope-built curve detail on the building's exterior... it appears to be very strong. I agree that curing the windows in on the one side would be a worthwhile modification for your MOC tower. Great video as always 👍🏼
Thanks so much, my biggest point of the video is to show that Lego did not steal my idea for their building. As many felt they did. Our buildings are both different in a lot of ways. Some better some worse 😀
I want to mod my avengers tower to look a bit like the new world trade centre in ny , so basically remove the boxy looking top and have it resemble more a spire tower
Great video! I agree with your points. I’ve built my own mic as well which is not as big as yours but a little wider than the Lego set. I was able to get better interior space and more levels. After spending the money on mine, I am wondering if I should shell out another $500 for the Lego set. That is my dilemma at the moment. First world problems I know.😂👍😎
I was not originally gonna buy it, but so many people had asked to hear my opinion and thoughts on it I figured I would give it a go. I still really enjoyed building this as it is a great little build and hope to have a lighting kits available for it soon.
The Avengers Tower looks awesome! I can't wait to purchase it! Thank you for giving your review of it. I love your city and how detailed you with everything and the lighting is spectacular! Your work is very inspiring to me!
I love that you built your Avengers tower on top of the proper building. You also used full door frames for you windows instead of the little tiny windows that Lego used. I was looking to do a building the same way you did yours. It is awesome. Do you have instructions for your Metlife Building?
Great to hear the pro and cons. And that you showed the difference between the build. And ueah why not take the good idea and improve your Moc. That is one of the fun things building with Lego. See , (get) motivated, learn and improve.
@@BevinsBricksWorld brooooo i remember brickfair va actually. I couldnt go sadly but it was so close by and i just didnt have time to go. I wish i knew i couldve seen this.
cool stuff, still think they shouldve given you some credit in the booklet or something but i totaly agree that your MOC is more intricate and detailed and as someone that watched all the update videos took a hell of a lot longer to build. happy holidays in advance buddy to you and yours and im curious to see what you come up with next year. much
They have borrowed a lot of peoples designs and ideas over the years and never give credit to the original builders. Thanks for the awesome comment and wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas 😀
Hey bevin bricks happy new year...I know you are very busy with your lights and city but I was just wondering if you where still doing your convention build thing
Very glad you made this video comparing the two. I will believe you 100% with all your opinion on this subject since you are the owner of the best Avengers tower Moc. Of course the base is really needed in the Lego version. I know there are some rebrickable stuff out there for it and was wondering if you had any thoughts about them. Do you recommend any of the bases? One last thing Daryl. Can the Lego version be worked on to make it a little bigger and wider with maybe a 2nd set or just extra parts or would that ruin the structural integrity of the building?
I agree a base is desperately needed for this set. I may try and design one in the near future. But this is a really great set and can be even better with the base and a few small tweaks
Hey Daryl, I just started building this. I made a base for it from one of the guys in rebrickable. It is a pretty big base. I am only on bag 12 and I must say, this building is very dinky. One of the smallest skyscrapers that I have is bigger then this. I am actually pretty disappointed. I am going to look at make it bigger and wider. This just wont do. Yours is soooo much better!
Yeah it is small, but for the typical Lego builder only using sets, it is big comparably speaking. Most people dont have the space for very large builds like me and you like :)
@@BevinsBricksWorld I couldn't even finish it Daryl. I am so underwhelmed. I actually hate it! I don't even like the way they built it. I kept telling myself, why did they do this? Why did they do that? It is just way too small. They needed to widen it by a good 4-6 studs on each side. Also, add a base. The front part that can be taken off is just horrible! I couldn't even get it to stay right most of the time. All the stupid gaps. This made me appreciate yours so much more. I wish You would refine yours and have it available for sale.
I think that what Legos Avengers tower resembled the most from yours is the way that they both open up the middle section as well as the top section. Other than that I see your point about it being the same building lol.
That is really the only thing I could see being similiar is the front glass. I think they did a great job on this set and it looks amazing. Had a lot of people think Lego stole the design from me and really couldnt be further from the truth.
Yeah, I agree I like the base on gringotts as an addition but should have been a seperate set all together and the avengers tower desperately needed a base.
You claim LEGO took over some of your designs. That is a strong claim. Can you actually prove that? It was designed by Mark Stafford, Justin Ramsden and Junya Suzuki. I don't believe they have anything to learn from you. They probably have not even seen a glimpse of your tower. Yes, yours is bigger. It would be a very expensive official set in those dimensions. I guess about 1k USD. LEGO is about creativity and fun, not about narcissism in order to push ones products. Do better.
No I say its hard for buildings to not look the same when designing the same building. As many ask me if Im ok with Lego stealing my designs. If they borrowed anything from my building if you watched the video, the only thing would be the removable front and again I explain why they would do that just as I did because the buikding cant be modular with its shape. And also as I state in the video, if they did get inspiration from me I would be flattered. The fact is I designed and built mine 3 years ago so I do get why people think that and think it is possible they got ideas from me, but they are 2 totally different builds. Again as I show in the video.

The bigger you build anything the more important structural integrity becomes. Set designers are always one step ahead of MOC builders
Bold move wearing a Batman shirt to discuss the Avengers Towers, LOL. Your building is still the more impressive one. Peace.
Was coming here to state that
I do things like that to see if people catch them. 😉 I am a fan of both dc and marvel and its fun to see the comments.
Because everyone knows batman is the best

I prefer your MOC. Lego should seriously consider hiring you to consult on new sets... you are a master builder!
Thank you so much I appreciate that :)
Excellent choice in shirt as well as in building your own moc
Awesome man you must have a smile on your face, you did a killer job. 🤘
Thanks man, yeah I still love my building. 😀
great video, thanks
Thanks for watching :)
Lego employed designers might actually look at Bevins bricks with envy !!!!!!!
Thank you so much
Very cool video!
Thanks
Thanks, Darryl!

Great review Daryl great video
Thanks Nate, Hope you have a great day !

That would be a fun and challenging build to try.
this is the best lego youtube channel! your mocs are the best!
Thanks and happy new year :)
They 100% watched your video and displays.
Took the best parts and went from there.
Either way. Take it as a win.
Absolutely but Im flattered that they did even if they will never acknowledge it :)

Very good review. You seem like a great guy!
Thanks 😊
Holy crap Ive never seen this but THAT MOC IS CRAZY COOL. ITS INSANE HOW U MADE IT THAT BIG.
Thanks, I built this almoat 3 years ago, had it on display at brickfair Virginia in 2022 and won best best pop culture build for it :)

@NG6_Studios oh thats sucks sorry, dont know if this will ever be back there, if I come again it would be a new build.
What is the Quinjet version you’ve inserted into the top of the tower?
Its a retired set 76032
@@BevinsBricksWorld oh wow! Didn’t realise that would fit. Thank you.

Would be awesome but Im a bit old for a carreer change

Hi Joe, happy new year to you and yours. As for the convention center, no that building was destroyed for parts.
What if you could get the 3d model of the tower? Have you ever thought about talking to the movie designers?
I mean the official 3d model. That would be a bit insane though
Would be cool but no I doubt I could afford what they would want for it.
Awesome
😀
I prefer the tower you built.
Thanks 😀
That official set is comically smaller than yours Daryl! Love the "Bevinizing" buddy😂
😀 yeah its a bit small 😆 🤣 but its still a great little build.

I really hope they have a larger landing platform. Not sure would two 76269 combined look like
Im sure they can be combined to make a larger version, the landing platform as is, is rather small.
This moc is the biggest I’ve seen
My largest moc is my Flatiron/Daily Bugle
Sorry I’m late but I’ve been waiting for this moment lol
Its a great build just needs a nice base.
@BevinsBricksWorld I am looking for Stark Tower
Thought I had seen someone make a version of that as well.

If it was a Lego set, it would cost $1000
Actually a lot more than that
Well done Lego. A Gringotts with a base nobody wants and another Avengers tower with no base. Only the best is good enough
Yeah, I agree I like the base on gringotts as an addition but should have been a seperate set all together and the avengers tower desperately needed a base.
