Gives you all the variation levels for different height clothes with one rod so thats pretty cool too and you can always add as many notches as you need

Agree! and a lovely quilt/wall hanging on the wall behind the bed, and curtains to add more coziness. Another more colorful rug under the desk area, and a few pcs. of art on the walls.

I am 59 years old, and I’m in a wheelchair in life right now. You are an absolute hero of mine, you’re doing the very thing I wish I could’ve done being in the middle of wherever in the woods. Regarding the measuring method: my dad has been in carpentry for almost 30 years and he's always done this thing where if the length is between measurements he'll say big or small. So like 11 1/2" big would mean it's a tiny bit more than 11 1/2". And he'd write that as 11 1/2"+ (and it'd be the minus - symbol if it was a tiny bit less aka "small"). I've always thought that was cute. He built so much of my hometown it's crazy. There are subdivisions full of houses he's built with his crew. He must've worked on hundreds of houses over the years.
He even helped me build my house 😄
Oh thanks for sharing! I always use "and a bit" or "minus a bit". Makes my husband crazy but my crafting buddy knows EXACTLY what I mean and even though we're half a country away and working together on Skype, our stuff always comes out measured correctly!

My dad does the same thing except with "long" and "short" So 11 1/2 "long", or he'll tell me to either leave the pencil mark I made when measuring or cut it off.
That sounds like a hassle! Can't you just buy a metric tape measure and measure with that? It's way more precise.

You inspired me so much that I dug my circular saw out and built a bed frame with nothing but a sketch. Worked great. It had been years since I used it. My setup was as primitive as yours since I don’t own a table saw or even sawhorses, lol. Great job.

You are soo creative...I LOVE the closet. I liked it w/o the hanging curtain ..just open ..because the wood shelves is even so pretty and even the rod with hanging clothes.. Really surprised at the slanting rod and all the clothes still stayed where they were hung and it's so cool looking. The wood wall to closet, the desk, the trim on walls near ceiling, everything is beautiful.

I’m watching you from Romania, somewhere in Europe. Step by step I’m trying to do the move, going into the mountains. During the summer I’m staying in an old house, abandoned hamlet, no electricity only 4 solar panels and I want to ask you how are you handling with these too quiet and dark nights? As a lonely 25 yr girl I can't fall asleep without any sound on the background and it’s so annoying 😆.
Are white noise machines/apps/fans not an option because of the lack of electricity I’m guessing? Maybe you could get a small battery powered radio and have the static playing softly for white noise ay night?

That clothes rail from bottom to top with holders is a really good idea for using space! You could put longer clothes like dresses upper side and shorter like blouses on lower side. Excellent job! I think door would take too much space? That lace door curtain is airy and beautiful 💘💘

The room and closet are looking so good!!! I would get some cedar balls for the closet though. I noticed the flies circling the windows and cedar and peppermint spray could help keep those away from clothes in the closet.

Hannah, your carpentry skills are awesome!!! your bedroom is really coming together well!!! Personally I'd put a door on the closet, things get cluttered in there sometimes and being able to just shut that door and not worry about it for a moment is sometimes worth the work involved to finish the project. thanks for taking the time to share this with everyone. we're probably going to have to get through April before spring really decides to actually show its face but its definitely something to look forward to. So creative with the angled hanging for clothes.
To me the biggest change you need to do is to add some screens for the windows you cannot have those mosquitoes coming in at night. Love the way you trimmed out the white with the dark it looks really sharp. Also how you tackled the closet space it's actually very similar to what I'm planning to do when I renovate my upstairs.
