Thank you both! This was just what I needed this wintry day when life seems tough. The struggles and hardships, but the results and the amount of care you have for each other and the place are definitely the kick in the arse I needed today :)
You dedication to live life to its fullest, is a huge inspiration! 🔥 Thank you so much for showing us - the whole world - that it is possible to make dreams come true and to keep moving forward whatever the circumstances 🎉 I am truly honored to call you my friends ❤ Love, Freya ❤
Wauw, what a beautiful comment ❤️ Thank you, Freya, for your words 🔥 We are also truly happy to have you in our lives! Can’t wait to be in the forest with you again 😍🌕 Love, Annie
The music was a perfect fit, and the video, wonderful! so much change in such little time, it's truly amazing. I enjoy your videos a lot. Thank you for sharing! and congratulations to you both!
Thank you! 😃 I changed half the music until it felt right, so that makes me so happy to hear 😄👏 We’re so glad you enjoy it! ❤️ Thank you so much, you are wonderful. Love, Annie
So far you have come with you'r cabin.. ❤️ Adventures are waiting for you next the summer. It would be nice to see you'r life in the Danmark as well. Lovely week to you both. I'm editing just now my fifth story to RUclips. So much work but so nice and giving. 🤍🤍🏡🤍🤍
I am so looking forward to your next video. You are doing such a great Job. We in Wisconsin USA are having Winter it is so depressing we have not had a sunny day in 4 weeks I am hoping for a couple this week Blessings
Hey Linda, Thank you! That means a lot ☺️ Ohh that sounds like one has to create the sunshine somehow 😳 What do you do to stay bright and positive during this time? Sending lots of sunlight and everyday magic from Scandinavia 🌞🌈 Love, Annie
Men wow! Grymma ni är. Önskar att jag var lika snabb 😅 Jag renoverar ett torp från 1929 utanför Göteborg. Jag har dock ingen som helst vana att snickra så det tar vääääldigt lång tid alltid 😅
Just an after thought but it might have been a good idea to have put down a vapour barrier under the main floor. Moisture from the ground will eventually rot the wood.
Yes, that makes sense. We chose not to, because we wanted to build the house as natural (minimal plastic) as possible. So I dug pretty deep, to have air under. Love, Annie
Thanks! It's wood fibre insulation. You can see and hear more about it in our video where we inslutate the cabin: ruclips.net/video/xZlT1TKi7Rs/видео.htmlsi=A9zxVTsfF-iVAU9z
Thank you so much! Julian was incredible! I would never have known where to start such a project - I learnt so much! Julian has renovated to old houses before. Back it was learning by doing for him, and he read some books about it :) Love, Annie
I like the roof. Those were individual pieces of clay tiles? Please explain. Also, abandoned cabin. What does that mean? Any owner anywhere? What if they come back is my first thought. Thank you for this video.
Thank you, William. Yes, individual (unique) clay tiles 😅 (Looks so easy in this video, but they were like snowflakes to work with 😆) You can watch the video about laying the roof here: ruclips.net/video/TDrJxgnDJpI/видео.html And let us know if you have more queations 😊 Haha, abandoned. Nobody had lived there for at least 20 years. It just stood there, getting more and more rotten inside, because of a hole in the roof. Remember the man in the red t-shirt on the ATV driving us with the roof tiles? That’s the previous owner 😊 He has been so helpful. We had tea with him and his wife on New Years. Everyone in the neighborhood nearby have been so positive that we have saved this little house ❤️ All the best, Annie
Great question! Keep watching, and you will see the answer. Maybe you have found out by now :) Otherwise, just ask again, and I will be happy to answer. Love. Annie
It's wood fibre. The mice are many right now. I'm just editing a video about it. We started mouse proofing in our latest video here: ruclips.net/video/QA8CJeSexH0/видео.html Actually I don't know if they are, probably, I'm hoping not, but they probably are... It's nice and cosy to nest in, no glass 😅
I would be interested to know how much value you added to the place if you were to sell it. Would it be more than you paid for the materials for the rebuild. If you were to do this as a business would it make money?
This is a very good question. My gut feeling is telling me the answer is no 😄 We paid extra to get as natural materials as possible, lige e.g. the insulation was double the price of normal insulation. It would have to be the right buyer who wanted to pay extra for that kind of values we put in. It is very personalized. If we built for others, we may also have had to consider e.g. wheel chair entrance, and the stairs are no where near approved for that. So it's a whole different project :) Please ask again, if I didn't answer your question... I don't know right now about the value of the house, and the money we spent all in all. Lots of love, Annie
Thanks! So happy to hear :D Nothing, it's still there. We rented it out :) Have you been watching since we were in the first house in Sweden? Love, Annie
I just found your video's. Just one litle thing. Your playlist is upside down. It starts with this, then the last episode all down to the first. Logic would be to start with 1e episode and end with the last one
Hey! Thanks :) But I think that's how it goes. Newest first, and if you like it - you can click on a playlist and start from the beginning :) I wouldn't know how to install it otherwise. Love, Annie
You're right, it would have been easier, cheaper and faster to build a house from scratch 😄 But we wanted to see how much of it we could save. Otherwise the cottage would just fall to the ground. Such an inspiring and incredible build/project! This place is beautiful. What country is this in? Here in the USA i would love to put a cabin like this or a tiny house on my little piece of land out in the woods someday.

It seems like it might have been easier to just tear down the old cabin and build a brand new one.
That is correct 😄
What type of insulation is that? Looks like hempcrete. How are the mice in your area? Do they nest inside the insulation?
It's wood fibre. The mice are many right now. I'm just editing a video about it. We started mouse proofing in our latest video here: ruclips.net/video/QA8CJeSexH0/видео.html

Öppna timmerväggar på bägge sidor ventilerar ut fukten naturligt genom timret
Det er rigtigt 😊
Brukar man inte måla på båda sidorna på ytterpanelen??
No, I don't think so.

Easier to build from scratch, you have removed all the original character of The Cottage.
