I’m 58 & a mother of 3 kiddos: 31 (boy), 29 (girl), 26 (boy). Well, not so much kiddos anymore…but always will be to me.
First things first, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the built-in & am so impressed by your creativity, your drive, and your absolute can-do spirit!!
I must admit, though, as I was watching you stand on those wobbly stools in Ugg boots with power tools, dangling and lurching, the mother in me was grimacing and gasping at the moves you were making while hanging onto the tools and nailing boards together. My chest seized a couple times 😂😱😂. It was a good adrenaline rush in the end!
My daughter’s name is also Hannah, and I’ve shared your channel with her. We both have chronic illness that leave us with basically zero energy-and when we do exert ourselves, we tend to get quite ill. Heat intolerance, exertion intolerance, which leads to cyclic 🤮-we’re a blast to have around on a project! Before the upchucking starts tho, it just looks like laziness to folks on the outside. 🙄
Thankfully we can live vicariously through you, & we also keep pushing to try things because we are so inspired by the things you do & share with us. So thank you for putting all your amazing energy out into the world & sharing all your beautiful accomplishments! Your zest for life is contagious! 💛🧡💚 It’s almost as great as having energy ourselves!
We both love to travel too so Bon Voyage to you & your friends. Sounds like an incredible trip! ❤✈️🚗🚞🛳️❤
(Sorry for the loooongg comment, but clearly, I’ve got time on my hands!😂)

In the future in order to avoid having a sagging shelf take a "1x2" and put it on the bottom side of the front of the shelf then use clamps to hold it tightly to the plywood and pre-drill small holes from the plywood side into the "1×2" make sure to set your bit into the chuck of the drill so that it dosen't stick out to far to avoid drilling all the way through the bottom of the "1×2". Anyways your work really looks nice, nice work Hannah.

A little tip,,,,try the no spend month 😳
Yeah it’s amazing how it really works on the savings.
Now that doesn’t mean all the essentials, bills, food and gasoline.
All that has to be bought and paid.
It has blew my mind how much I buy just to buy. I’m in the 22 days
Of this month and oh my goodness, what a difference in my saving account right now.
Good luck, with saving for your home ❤️

Get a dehumidifier for the basement and it will help dry your laundry in no time. We did this when we didn't have a dryer especially during the winter or rainy weather when we couldn't use the line outside. It worked extremely well for us. When we were using the backup heat source, our amazing wood stove , we didn't need the dehumidifier and actually had to keep a cast iron kettle full of water to prevent everything from getting too dry in the house. The previous owners had installed the wood stove and had cut a hole in the flooring above it and installed a metal grate and a fan to help circulate the heat. I actually prefer heating with a wood stove and really wish we had one in our current house as our oil furnace broke before Christmas and then we got hit by temps in the single digits . our coldest winter in many many years. The water heater died shortly after that. Definitely roughing it like my ancestors. Our house has2 coal fireplaces that aren't safe to use to add to the fun. So your life is definitely not in chaos. We also need to replace the water lines that go to the laundry room because they froze and burst destroying the floor and room as the idiots sent by the insurance company to fix it kept putting our work off which allowed black mold to grow and cover and get into everything out there after the abatement company removed the asbestos filled flooring down to the joists and because it exposed the room to the dirt and gravel covered ground during one of the wetest spring and summer in17years. Yes it took over8 months to get it fixed and I had to send pictures and an email to the owner of the company who were contracted to fix it.

You did GOOD! I love to do these kinds of things too & have my own power tools, big saws, and 2 nail guns. There is so much satisfaction from creating things using your own mind and hands (& Alexa!). Not only did you create a beautiful piece of furniture that you can use forever, but your confidence in doing future things like this will increase dramatically.
As a young woman you are so empowered anytime you take on projects like this; fixing & maintaining your property & vehicles; and basically handling all the things that happen when you’re alone and own a home, travel, & make other decisions that you alone are responsible for. You have a wonderful life, have so many things to look forward, to accomplish, and love! Keep up the good work, Hannah,

Looks like the heat is working good although it hasn't been very cold this year. If you can't confine the sawdust with plastic curtains between the rooms consider a window-type fan with a pleated furnace filter to catch more of it. Just place it near the work.

Hannah, you are my inner child! I love your dining room built-in. I have been admiring your paint chips throughout this video. I know they are just tapped to the wall, but they are almost art in themselves. I admired how you think of something and just do it! By they way, having constructed furniture, built things in my home, and sewn clothing; there are mistakes and design flaws everywhere, and creators knows where they are. Over time the memory of those will fade, or you will eventually fix them when they don't. We all admire what this looks like at a distance. Because you know where the mistakes are does not detract to the beauty of it in the viewers' eyes. Nice job. Thanks for sharing!

So proud of you Hannah! You did an awesome job on the cabinet and give me confidence and motivation to work on my own projects! I’ve recently been tackling a lot of projects on 2 cabins. I learned electrical stuff from RUclips and Google. I replaced a light fixture and I also turned an old hardwired in sconce into a wired sconce that you can plug in and mount anywhere with a roll switch built into the cord. That I salvaged off an old ugly thrift store lamp, and the sconce I got years ago at the thrift store. It used to be bare aluminum, but I painted it black with some spray paint I had laying around. Also have done a lot of drywall work, and using dark gel stain and polyurethane on some free ugly orange oak looking kitchen cabinets. They look really nice now compared to what they were. Excited to see how you tackle all your home projects :)

very nicely done the blank space in the middle could house a mirror then put glass shelves in for a bar and a wine glass rack. some indirect lighting would accentuate the space if you lit the booze bottles from underneath. just a suggestion it would give it an old world look with some modern touches. well done job and i'm sure whatever you do with the space will look fabulous.

Don't know if that guitar is played or is just a decoration, but I suspect in your northern climate in the winter (low humidity) and what I would guess is generally low humidity inside, you might want to consider keeping that guitar in a hard case and use a guitar soundhole humidifier to keep it from drying out and cracking. 45-50% humidity is best for a guitar and it's possible your interior in the winter may be 20% or so - could cause problems.

I am also in a tiny apartment. I do my laundry by hand using the "breathing mobile washer" (available on Amazon). After my laundry is done, I hang it up on hangers on a clothing rack and place it in front of a small heater (be careful not to get it too close to the heat). I am going to purchase a fan also to use it instead of the heater. Oh, and I place a couple of plastic dishpans under the laundry to catch any drips.

Hannah! The basement may be getting too cold/damp at night to dry your clothes. I would recommend getting a foldable drying rack and putting them upstairs where it's warm - preferably near a heater - they will dry in no time!

For anyone who is building anything, if the wood is sagging, flip it. It'll look humped for a bit but will flatten.

That's only if the wood is curved, not sagging from weight, like this was.

Just so you know I recommend doing some research on better help before you choose to use their services or choose to work with them as a sponsor. They are responsible for some very questionable ethical practices, there have been many, many complaints, just do research before you part with your money and open yourself up to a 'therapist' who could actually do more harm than good.

Please do a little more research on better help... The stories are coming out in droves about what a scam this is. Most of their therapists aren't even licensed!

Hannah please please look into and reconsider the better help sponsorship, they are extremely problematic, it's all over the internet right now. There's no doubt that you have the best intentions with people and mental health, whereas there's so much evidence that they really don't

It all turned out so lovely! Well done, Hannah! I’m always so impressed with how you tackle projects and hard things. Honestly, it’s no problem if you get side tracked along the way, because one things I’ve learned from watching your videos is that you get back around to those things eventually. You’re a go-getter. You inspire me to try harder and not give up when tasks seem too difficult. I hope you have a wonderful time on your journeys! Safe travels!
