Always good to see another writer who makes their own props for their projects.
Great looking prop. If it fits in the story, the area under the barrel looks like a perfect place to house either a functional flash light, or just the reflector and lens from a flashlight.
for sure
YAY! There's always room for more blaster mods! Thanks for another wonderful video Anthony.
thx!
I was definitely looking forward to this! Thanks for all you do Anthony!
thx for say'n!
FYI raised serial numbers and casting symbols would be a perfect detail on something like this. Archer Fine Transfers offers a sheet of resin on clear film numbers and symbols for 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72 scale tank and armor model kits that, used on prop guns and whatnot, could help sell the illusion of metal parts. Just a thought.
Terra Nova flashbacks. Those are just painted Nerf guns, in a $20 million budget show.
Blaster projects are always the best
haha I agree !!
I remember back in the 00s...when Stargate SG-1 moved from Showtime to SciFi (Now Syfy) more than a few times their Weapons were "Nerf Guns" with a healthy coat of paint and a couple 'greebles' added and a little filed off to hide their 'Nerf-ness'... on occasion they'd Mod and NES 'light zapper' pistol too...
Those first few seconds were all I needed to make my night 😂
nice :)
I like how you always talk about how you "shouldn't use" the belt sander.
Awesome love the blaster mods
i do too!
It was nice to see you getting back to the "kit bashing," and adding the printed elements was a plus.
Hey Anthony! I’m just breaking into prop making and your blaster videos have been a MASSIVE help and inspiration! Thanks for doing what you do!
Looks great
Thanks!
I like that you added weights to make the piece feel real
I’ve been watching a lot of these type of videos as I would like to paint a foam dart blaster soon. Everyone has stuff they add and their styles but I really liked your 3d printed pieces and your use of the foil and plastidip!
me after walking out of my nearest Target with everything off the shelf and i notice security showed up: 0:00
edit* ...i thought to much for this joke
haha love it
{giggle} I never have that problem when I walk out of my local thrift store with $20-30 worth of used Nerf blasters--I just tell the cashiers that I'm gearing up for the Zombie Apocalypse!
Geez oh Lulu! Sweet!!
haha
@@createscifi What?
I am making a short film for my collige and in the script a charter puls out a gun on another. I was looking around my house because I use to have a toy gun that was painted black that I did years ago but I couldn't find It, I think I threw it out, but I remember watching this afew years ago as well as other stuf from your channel. So I decided I was going to make a prop gun myself. Thanks for providing the knolige needed to make this project a reality.
Just found your channel. Absolutely what I've been looking for! Instant subscriber.
Finally! So happy to see someone add weight to their prop. It's the one thing that bugs me every time I see a plastic prop. Love your channel
You want a Retro sci fi blaster that looks like something out of a Flash Gordon comic book or the Call of Duty Ray Gun, check a few broken Snapfire 8, not the nerf orange Jolt type Snapfire but the Nerf dart tag Snapfire 8, you can even convert it into the blaster similar to the red blaster that Earthworm Jim uses in the games and animated series.
Great video Anthony, great custom prop. Inspiring watching your craft.
You should try to make one with lights and sound.
Sweet mod, I Love it! Also, square peg / round hole should be a tee shirt.
haha not a bad idea
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL DUDE.
I love your laugh
It makes me think of a World War 1 era ED-209 from Robocop. 👌🏻👍🏻
nice
Superb. I’m going to make one today
Your video was very helpful! I'm working on 2 modified prop rifles for my dystopian in nature videos. Thanks again. You have a new subscriber!
I've got the same gun, thinking of doing a Judge Dredd Lawgiver mk2 mod.
Just a quick note from a film prop maker (great build, btw), please, for your own safety, keep in mind when transporting something like this in public, it can easily cause confusion with law enforcement and other concerned individuals. Learned this from experience, best to assume worst case scenarios in that sort of case. Lock them up in a CLEARLY LABELED container that explains it contains 'movie props'. Same thing would apply to cosplayers, though I believe they don't even allow weapons without orange tips into events normally for everyone's safety.
I love your laugh. It is pleasantly infectious. 😁
A suggestion regarding filling the screw holes with bondo.
Have you tried mixing the bondo, then rolling a sheet of paper into a fine-tipped cone.
You then scoop in the bondo and put it as close to the tip of the cone as possible.
Then you place the tip into the holes and squeeze the bondo into the holes.
Like a decorative frosting.
You can also clip the tip as much as you need to get it into the holes more easily.
That way you don't have as much extra putty surrounding the holes that you have to trim, then sand away.
I really enjoy your build tutorials. They are very informative and helpful, as well as fun.
Thank you.
And Be Excellent to each other and to yourself. Party on. 🤘🎸
Party on, dude!
I have ! It works but still was a whole situation :)
@@createscifi Cool. I understand your meaning, too.
I am a model builder, and some things work better than others. Some things are supposed to make things easier, yet bring in new challenges.
😁
I understand.
Thank you for your reply.
I look forward to your next build, and your wonderful laugh. 😎
🤘🎸
I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard that hot glue also makes a great filler for screw holes, but you need to paint over the hot glue afterward because it remains mildly sticky otherwise.
Cheep thrift store nerf guns are also quite good just to break down for greebles. it's also usually a good idea to make some side split silicone molds of the parts after you've removed the nerf logo's, just so that if you ever find another use for the same part you can easily cast a copy rather than having to buy a whole new gun for a project.
{laughing maniacally} I love it! I wondered whether you too had discovered the joy of modding thrift store Nerf blasters, and now I see that yes, you have! Also, for anyone who likes to use Nerf weapons as LARPG/movie props, keep the "guts" because all those crazy internal parts make good greebles and extra parts for other projects!
Bro i love how it shows up
New subscriber here, I am creating props for myself for the first time. I find your videos educational and entertaining; Thanks.
well hello and welcome to the channel
This is amazing. I would have loved this as a kid.
So cool! Looks amazing this video made me subscribe 😊
Which model Nerf gun is this? It would be killer for a fallout 10mm
I found out that you can imitate wear by flipping the painted part (after it’s dried to the touch 20min after) and putting it on top a stretched nylon bag for the night.
You’ll get a mirror like surface where the nylon was in contact with the paint and where it wasn’t the surface will retain its original texture.
A Createscifi drama from Anthony.... sweet, looking forward to that. I do screw holes pretty much the same way, but with experiments with all sorts of filler. And superglue with baking soda is great, adds strength also.
yeah for sure . check out my film Aeranger if like drama: ruclips.net/video/zofb9791xJQ/видео.html
What a great channel.
Glad you enjoy it!
Love it!! 😁😁😁
Yes... tactical pulse pistol. Enough energy discharge to make holes in things!
Me likey!
haha
Hi there, just seen your vid and it was a fun watch.
Has any one else asked about a holster for it.
As it is rather a big boy to be carrying around all day.
yes i will need to make one
Was that for Wakener?
Looks like the Fallout 10mm Pistol
I do love the idea of printing your own greeblies. that might be the best reason for me to start 3d printing. Great video. Loving your work.
I agree lots of people upset about the 3d printing but I'm just printing greeblies in this case
it looks like 10 mm pistol from fallout 3!
Outstanding 😁👌
Thx!
I'm trying to integrate a round barrel into an opening in a nerf gun. There's not a lot of surface area in contact. How do you suggest I install it?
For that amount of bondo, you really only need about a dime sized plop of hardener. But then again, if your style works, it works. lol This is one of the best nerf mod videos I've seen. You really make the entire process a lot of fun.
yeah I need to dial that back :)
Nerf guns have been used so many times - and I've handled them quite a bit - that it takes some effort that I don't recognise them straight away. But you did it! Well done indeed :-D
Wonderful work...we’re doing some prop builds. Thx Anthony!! Keep up the great work.
Hello Anthony, just found your channel today, watched a few videos and I am impressed. I'm currently dismantling Nerf guns for a project and you are right, there is always one screw that fights you lol. Great work, all best wishes from UK.
Paint any toy black to look scary, and someone will claim that it's an assault rifle, and want to ban it... :-P
Hey! What SFX did you use for the gun shot at the end??
Hi Anthony. Been following along for about 10 months now. Great nerf mod video, as always. Blasters are really fun to do. I'm so glad that you've also 'found' 3D printing as part of your armoury. Being able to create those small custom details really does make all the difference, especially adding logos and tie in pieces. I used to do these using the plastic from drinks or detergent bottles, drawing them on and then superglue to the item. Just so much faster result with printed. Please keep on keeping on
Very very nice Anthony! I think its your best weapon yet! Amazing transformation... Keep up the great work...
thx!
Hey Anthony, in the future if you have a Nerf blaster mod on a spring powere blaster, make sure it's de-primed prior to disassembly, it'll help avoid the blaster exploding when you take it apart. Also. plenty of groups on facebook such as "Nerf Cosmetic Modders" where you can ask for help, post your mods, or take inspiration from. Great stuff! =)
great tip!
What an absolutely happy fellow.. True pleasure watching you enjoy your craft.. Nice work.. Keep it up👍🏻
For your Bondo, wouldn't something like an old Elmer's glue bottle (one of the really small ones) be perfect for squeezing some of that into the holes? They you could spend less time cleaning up the overspill
good idea but it dries too quickly for something like that
Wow!
Looks awsome!
The more realistic paint this time really works with that Nerf model.
But im wondering, the way you painted everything, is the loading mechanism still moving? At the beginning of the video you said you wanted that to be a thing still. Just curious!
Good eye ! Nope painted it shut LOL , I've since loosened it up and works now but at time of filming I had to keep the production deadline moving :) haha its like making a cooking show sometimes
Kinda looks like a 10mm pistol from fallout 3 and new vegas
Nerfs of Steel
do you think you could get a cinematic filming camera for your short films.
?
Also, that handy band mashine is great
@Anthony how much does sth like the one you own cost approx.?
not sure what you mean?
@@createscifi you're putting up the red thing with a rubber (?) band...
@@createscifi 4:12 that is where I saw it
It's just a portable belt sander, flipped over on its top. You can find them at any big box store with a hardware department.
@@blackcatgraphics1483 thanks a lot! What do those cost approx, please?
it looks a bit like the pistol from fallout
HAHAHAHAHA that intro
:)
You are always laughing. Makes the video less like everybody eleses and very enjoyable.. Excellent work on the nerf gun.. 😀👍
thx!
Keep doing what you do.. I love your style.. 😁
haha fires well!
haha
Another fun crafting channel ruined by 3d printing. Still, great mod.
just adding it into the mix
Really? To me, that magazin is the best part of the blaster
Well, sacrifices have already been made..
feel ya
@@createscifi any chance of seeing another nerv mod in the future?
And by the way, great videos
Man, staring down the barrel while your thumb is on the trigger made me nervous. 😬
lol
Great job! 3D printing is essential for Prop making! Well done additions to this NERF gun!
Which is the opposite of what he explained for several minutes :)
thx
Irresponsible lack of gun safety... 😏
Add a comment…
I used to enjoy your channel when you actually created everything. 3D print is lazy and uncreative way to take short cuts.
fair enough.
