    Dr. Greene can you do a video on why doctors oppose medical sterilization for “young” women? I put “young” in quotes because I have known women in their 20s who made up in their minds that they did not want to have children or did not want another child after just having one baby. They told their doctor this but the doctor rejected their request because their reasoning was “you could change your mind later.” And I’ve heard this excuse from many doctors. When doctors say this It sends the message that you need to be of a particular age to identify what your wants/needs are as a woman.

      YES! This would be a great topic especially with Republicans trying to also take away the women's right to choose.

      I have struggled with this my whole life. I have never wanted kids, I have talked to my Dr about it since I was 18 (I'm almost 41 now). I still don't want kids but my Dr refuses to help saying "I might change my mind". I just gave up thinking all Dr.'s would say the same thing and have been on the depo shot since 18 (always had very heavy period, cramping and long lasting periods *3 weeks every 9-12 months*). At this point I'm just waiting for menopause to kick in, it's been very discouraging.

    • @sauds88
      @sauds88 3 года назад +1

      @@kristen6074I totally see why you’d be discouraged. You are an adult capable of making sound decisions about your body. For a doctor to say “no” it’s like you’re indirectly telling the patient “I know what is best for you more than you know what is best for you” because essentially that’s what it comes down too and that is wrong. If we can legalize abortions then women should also have the right to want to remove their own reproductive organs. ✊🏾

    I have the Paraguard, and I like that it's very effective, but I don't like that my periods got heavier. So gross. I hate it. I will switch to the hormonal IUD next time I change. I don't know if I will hate that too, but I just want to keep trying different things.

    Joking aside, I had nexplanon and it was okay in the beginning. My periods were nonexistent until I had it for 1.5 years and I had periods for 2 weeks straight. Got pregnant (on purpose) a year later and then got Paragard. It was totally easy to get in!! I had it for two years but it made my periods heavy and crappy. But it wasn’t “too” bad. I would probably get it again after my husband and I are done trying to have another baby. AND THEN THAT MAN BETTER GET SNIPPED. Lmao

      I’ve been off and on Depo for the past 15 years. It’s the only BC I’ve been on and it’s been amazing for me. Not a single negative side effect for me. I got pregnant twice when I wasn’t on it and obviously wasn’t using any other method to avoid it. lol. I just recently learned from my new OBGYN that Depo depletes your calcium and apparently you shouldn’t be on it longer than two years without a break. Which makes sense because my teeth have recently started breaking. Literally. Please ask yours if they can prescribe you any calcium supplements that your insurance may cover. Other than that, Depo has truly been amazing for me and I hope that you have the same experience. ❤️ I was due to get it back in June and didn’t because I hadn’t been sexually active for the past year and wanted to take a break. I still haven’t started a period and of course had sex a few weeks ago and he pulled out and so far the pregnancy tests are negative. 😅 My doctor said that it will take 4 months for the Depo to be fully detoxed and that’s why I couldn’t get it immediately last week. So I’ll say that if you’re going to need it at any point, don’t miss your scheduled shot. lol. I’m looking into the Nuvaring because I might want another little human one day and I also would like to keep the teeth I still have. 🥴 If anything, I’ll get back on Depo because I know how effective it is and how well my body works with it.
      Sorry that was so long. I hope it helped. ❤️

      I have had an iud twice. Once when I was 25 and again at 33. At 25 it was hard to lose weight but I didn't gain any. At 33 was breastfeeding and was an emotional, bloody fat mess. When i left the hospital, I had lost all baby weight. Didn't have an appetite and gained 40 llbs in 2 months. Would cry in traffic pr when i looked in the mirror. I would spot for a week then stop for about 3 months. I removed it and stared the family planning. Got pregnant again. This time will try the tubal ligation lol.
