  • In this tutorial, I show you how I make fillers to use when cake decorating. What are fillers you ask? Well...bushes, tree shrubs, foliage, grass, clouds, coral, etc. It's the perfect trick to fill up those empty spaces and complement the main decorations of a cake.

    The chocolate covered popcorn can be done in a variety of bright colours and used as coral too. I used it last week for a Dory cake...looks great and tastes awesome!

    Did I hear you correctly that you use regular gel food coloring in the chocolate? If yes, doesn't it make the chocolate seize?? I'm not sure I understood the comment about water and chocolate either... Thank you. Great video.

    • @Yenersway
      @Yenersway  7 лет назад

      Hi Ginny, yes, I was saying that water and chocolate don't really marry together and that the water in the gel colour will make the chocolate slightly creamier, so then we can add a bit of oil to bring the chocolate back closer to it's original state. Hope that makes sense. Thanks

    • @ginnysher6541
      @ginnysher6541 7 лет назад

      Wow, I thought any drop of water in chocolate would make it seize, but not make it creamy. I'll try that. Thanks.

    Thank you again for your fab tutorials. Are there specific good colourings fir chocolate or can we use any good colouring that we use in cakes? Also what is the life span if royal icing in fridge please? Thank you so much for your answers in advance. 🙏🙏🙏

    • @Yenersway
      @Yenersway  4 года назад +1

      There is specific oil base colours available for chocolate to achieve deep colours without spoiling the consistency of the chocolate . Just a drop of water base gel colour can be used for light tinting. Royal icing has 6 times sugar in 1 time egg white, that is enough sugar to preserve the mixture for few days in a room and much longer in the fridge. Thanks

    first I want to thank you. second I didnt understand why not to use royal icing?? and if we need to put the chocolate in the frize??

    • @Yenersway
      @Yenersway  6 лет назад

      Hi Roni Ben Ari, Both chocolate and royal icing are ok to use. Both have their benefits. Royal icing will allow more vibrant colors and won't be vulnerable to melting. White chocolate is slightly yellow so it won't give you bright colours, and it can melt in hot weather. Chocolate tastes better. You don't need to put the chocolate in the fridge. It is just to make it set faster and it is easier to handle, but it can set in room temperature as well.
