I would trade my grandmother's soul to own an exquisite PowrMax garden tractor! The SimpleCity PowrMax 4041 and 9020 were absolute beasts of burden and considered by most to be the largest garden tractor ever made! They were practically a subcompact before subcompacts existed. I mean it's impressive size makes that nice Wheel Horse in the background look like a limp wristed soy boy!
I love how creative you guys get, Happy Father's day to you and all the fathers out there. Keep the Doctoring coming to us. I'd love to see and hear more of this music song communication 😅
Of all the things I expected to see, it wasn't dozens of lovingly butchered songs by a couple of hillbilly lawnmower mechanics and an odd old feller named after a type of shoe.... This video deserves a like!
I worked as a Mechanic in the Local Garage in the late 70's and throughout the 1980's and until the owner retired and when 5pm came he always said, "It's time to wind up the cat, throw the clock out and go home" !!!! LOL!!!!!!!
Just stumbled across Taryl and my goodness what a character. This is like hanging out at my Uncle Tim’s garage but my uncle doesn’t know shit about being a mechanic… he’s a woodworker.
How fitting to hear a cut from “Led Zeppelin II” which is what I usually listen to on my Sony Walkman while mowing the lawn. Nice shout out Slippers to Spooky Tooth no less!😮
I loved the skit! I chuckled more than I have in months! I give it 17 thumbs up and a Q+! Oh, and great work on that ancient beast of a mower Taryl. ~Honk~
The good old days of being mechanical instead of electrical. I miss those days. Y’all listen to the same music I do. Classic Rock and Yacht Rock. I do like “Changes” also.
That crap in the carbitraitor could be regular Teflon tape not for fuel which can turn into a glob like boogers! Unlike the proper yellow kind. Good video Tarryl.
That is probably a CCKB. I have owned one of these tractors since 1980. Bought it used when I was in high-school. I have mowed many acres with it to make money back then. I have not run it for about 10 years after I broke a spindle. Mine is the yellow and tan colors. Unfortunately, the block/pistons are worn out. It burns about 1 quart of oil per tank of gas. Fouls the plugs frequently.
Taryl, As a long time subscriber, I must admit the beginning and end of this one was very painful! Very painful! Did you notice that the clamp on the fuel hose to the filter was not over the barb of the filter?
Had one of those beasts before. Trying to get Onan parts was insane. Finally gave up and sold it. Somebody's prior work messed it up..at least got my money back and a bunch more guy who bought it completely restored it..really looked sweet
Hi Teryl, like your channel btw. { It sounds like there a fan going in the background, thats good; hope it is circulating some outside air.} You seem quite knowledgeable regarding small engines, and you have this way about you. I was wondering if you can remember any significant experiences in the garage that you ight have had at a very early age.
Onan - now that's a brand I haven't heard of for years. Never had much experience with them myself, but if memory serves, my father held them in high regard.
Let me tell you a Teflon tape story. Neighboring farmer has a Kubota tractor. One of the biggest they make. Had it several years. Started having rough running, low power problems. Dealer told him need new injector pump, cost almost $10k. He decided to look into it himself, since it was already broke didn't figure he could break it any more. Found a tiny piece of Teflon tape in the pump. Who, what, where, when, how it got there, nobody knows. I myself had already quit using Teflon tape on anything except residential plumbing fixtures. I heard about and religiously use Loctite 545 for every oil, fuel, air fitting. Never, ever had a leak problem and I've been using it for over 16 years. Told him about it now he is a believer. Like the Alka Seltzer commercial says, Try it, you'll like it.
Happy Father's Day Taryl. , I'm liking the rock song references intro. What's up with that wheel horse ? Do a video on it next if you can...Rock on grass rats

Should've told slippers to..."walk on home boy!!" 🤘
Having a sharp eye and being thorough is one reason why TD is a first class mechanic. I'm just a little surprised the fuel filter wasn't replaced.
Happy Father’s Day guys
I was surprised you didn't replace the fuel filter. I guess the problem source was beyond the filter anyway...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY Teryl!
The absolute best channel on utube. Thanks for the laughs
Nothing else is even close!

They just keep getting better.
15:30 Those are carburetor stones, very common in the older patients
Haha😂, I get it! Luckily Taryl surgically removed them instead of the poor tractor having to pass them!
Of all the things I expected to see, it wasn't dozens of lovingly butchered songs by a couple of hillbilly lawnmower mechanics and an odd old feller named after a type of shoe.... This video deserves a like!

Social Distortion! One of my favorites. That was a great medley.
Thank you Taryl!
Great video, Taryl, but don't forget to move that hose clip on the inlet of the fuel filter back where it should be!
"Brakes are good, tires fair." "Told my girl I had to forget her, rather buy me a new carbatrator"
How fitting to hear a cut from “Led Zeppelin II” which is what I usually listen to on my Sony Walkman while mowing the lawn. Nice shout out Slippers to Spooky Tooth no less!😮

I've got the same CCK Onan in my 1964 Melroe Bobcat. She uses some oil but has standard pistons in it yet.
Doc Martin
Awesome video. Love all the music references too. Nice touch. Happy Father’s Day Taryl. And there’s YOUR dinner.
Hey Grass Rats happy Father's Day. Remember to change the fuel filter before re starting an engine that had solids in the carburetor.

Taryl, As a long time subscriber, I must admit the beginning and end of this one was very painful! Very painful! Did you notice that the clamp on the fuel hose to the filter was not over the barb of the filter?
Old school mowers are fun to have a look at. Since many of them are NAPA (Never are parts available)... it's fun to see the solutions.
happy fathers day to all the grass rats Dads 👍
Best thing about your singin' voices, Not likely to get a copyright strike!! :_))))))

Jr with a pipe wrench. He looked like he was fixin' to do something. Sling blade style.
Onan - now that's a brand I haven't heard of for years. Never had much experience with them myself, but if memory serves, my father held them in high regard.

That's the one slipper's was singing to in video fixing the carburetor issues on the simplecity tractor.

Love this one, although you missed the opportunity to use The Police "Is that my mother on the phone" when the telephone rang.
The debris that was caught in the jet was white nylon from the plastic 90 where it screwed into the brass tee.
