Hi Rachna. Wanted to tell you something, I hope you read this comment. I’m an Editor by profession and my husband is a Chartered Accountant. I never had any idea about the technical terms people use these days. And getting married to a CA was all-the-more complicated because we could not discuss our profession. @@alexgorham7464 Typically a financial adviser will just put you into standard/tried and true products that are mostly just index funds and ETFs. This has been a down year to invest. If I were you I'd be investing broadly into the S&P 500 and broader index funds, that way you're instantly diversified and you don't have to worry about it too much. Over time, your investment shall grow, just don't get too focused on the short-term.

Actually, I want to told you something,its a coincidence or what but I was following maam but was waitng for a right moment to watch stock market lectures due to my oine classes as I am wuite young and having interest in msrket you eont believe I have covered the basic with almost everything..not just by watching lecture..I did many research but yes in my free time only .(not playing any games)so you guys wont believe that at tgis age studentds don't knoe what market is about and I have started little bit of P AND L READING,BALANCE SHEET,WUATARLY REPORTS WHICH JUST REAUIRE SOME COMMON SENSE and few days back only I watched lecture 1 and just started 2 but left as it seemed to be complicated..so I waited and guess what I was right that the lecture 2 was the 3rd and and this is the 2 .so I will wathch this and then move to the 3rd part which in lecture 2.

Investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with Index investing, but it is not easy. My point is that when investing you need education first. I know there are success stories by keep on doing DCA as well. To invest in growth stocks it is another level, definitely you need to know what are you doing.

I’ve had majority of my holdings in tech stocks and irrespective of market changes, I’ve done pretty well especially with apple’s P/E(price to earnings ratio) gaining over 30% this past decade, now my questions is what stocks do you think will be the next apple in terms of growth for the next decade.
It might be difficult finding the next apple within the tech stock sector, apple has performed way better than the others, maybe look outside of tech stocks.
well things are different now, same market strategies applied over last decade wouldn’t apply to the current market, so to actually figure out how to outperform the market and stay afloat for the next decade, you should reach out to a financial advisor, that’s how I’ve managed to gain over $450k in profit this past couple years

@@alexgorham7464 Typically a financial adviser will just put you into standard/tried and true products that are mostly just index funds and ETFs. This has been a down year to invest. If I were you I'd be investing broadly into the S&P 500 and broader index funds, that way you're instantly diversified and you don't have to worry about it too much. Over time, your investment shall grow, just don't get too focused on the short-term.

Actually, I want to told you something,its a coincidence or what but I was following maam but was waitng for a right moment to watch stock market lectures due to my oine classes as I am wuite young and having interest in msrket you eont believe I have covered the basic with almost everything..not just by watching lecture..I did many research but yes in my free time only .(not playing any games)so you guys wont believe that at tgis age studentds don't knoe what market is about and I have started little bit of P AND L READING,BALANCE SHEET,WUATARLY REPORTS WHICH JUST REAUIRE SOME COMMON SENSE and few days back only I watched lecture 1 and just started 2 but left as it seemed to be complicated..so I waited and guess what I was right that the lecture 2 was the 3rd and and this is the 2 .so I will wathch this and then move to the 3rd part which in lecture 2.

cum-basis : When a security is traded in cum price, it means that it incorporates the benefit of corporate action in its price

Price Adjustment : Price adjustment done by stock market to traded price on the last day on which a security is traded on cum basis in the market, after the close of trading hours.

All the trading done by the investors with the Stock brokers happens via the clearing house owned by that particular stock exchange.

Depository and Depository Participant( DP)
For Securities to be traded in Secondary market, it is mandatory for the securities to be available in electronic or dematerialized form
NSDL ( National Security Depository Limited) and CDSL( Central Depository Service Limited) are the two key depositories in India
Main Function is to convert Physical Shares to Dematerialized shares
Physical Shares -> Stock broker -> Company -> Depository -> Convert to e-format- > Return to company -> Return to stock broker -> Return to individual investor
Depository Participant is nothing but a Stock broker.

We want every valuable thing for free. Spending time and money on educating yourself will make you money. Be it a value added course from this wonderful lady who has painstakingly gathered all information so beautifully and is spoon feeding us which otherwise would be a nightmare for us to gather and organise in a systematic way. Off course you can do it by yourself from google or books that’s up to you. I’ve learnt that there is no better way than making money than first spending. Investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with Index investing, but it is not easy. My point is that when investing you need education first. I know there are success stories by keep on doing DCA as well.
