I went on open mic night. The venue is a stripped down warehouse on haunted land surrounded by poison oak. A guy just finished singing a song about a grilled cheese sandwich, and now there's a guy doing what's clearly his first fire eating act. I think he's got that disorder where he can't feel fear. Very good show, would go again. ★★★★★

Did you miss it? Brian broke down his fire eating routine: ruclips.net/video/-crd2rUsRP0/видео.html
Not only did Brian break the routine down, he’s also giving away THE book on fire-eating for the next 48 hours at gimme.scamstuff.com. Practice safely and with proper supervision!
Congrats to the winners of last week's Wallet Lock-Pick Set giveaway: Julian Seabury, Eden Beales Harper, Carlos Gonzalez, Grant Ng, Zaid Ammari, Sinjin Rushton, Ethan Gerber, and Brendan Keller (we will contact you via email within the next two weeks)
"Grilled cheese, you mean so much to me!!!"
I tried getting the book last time, but the link never made it to my email :(
Thank you
Really well done to the MurphMan
Just signed up for the book. 😁 Can't wait to get started. 😉🔥
P.s. I'm a blacksmith, do you think being very comfortable and respectful of fire, will help with fire eating? Or is a little fear healthy? 😅
Veteran firebender teaches the current Avatar some basic techniques (100 AG, Colorized.)
That Avatar is actually the Good reincarnation of Count Dooku, apparently. He had an unnatural, if imperfect, actuation of the technique through years of osmosis via Brian next to his own ridiculous, powerful potent-pun-tency.
I love how Jason just nonchalantly bullshits Brian’s whole script, and you can hear Brian in the back losing his mind laughing through it all.
Right next to Brian just shredding Grilled Cheese!
That got me. I laughed so hard
Yes lmao, it was amazing hahah!
The pivot to the double eat was super slick though.
@@pwnmasteh
Brian's reaction to that was perfect too. You could tell he was impressed by the recovery, and totally wasn't expecting Murphy to skip the single and go straight to the double.
"Now normally one of these goes out, so I'll have to put them both out" Not a bad transition for a failed stunt really.
Yeah that was smooth as hell.
yeah, followed by (seemingly) genuine surprise by Brian.
That was actually really awesome.
That's the art behind it. If you screw up. The Audience shouldn't know. Best thing I saw was in our school musical. A buddy forgot his line in the premiere and improvised. A girl shouted at him "why do you boys always need to be right?" Piet "because we are." We decided on the spot to keep that line over the original
@@Metalhammer1993 what was the original line?
Brian: Oh dear! That's bad.
Jason: Sir, calm down. It's fine. I'm trained by a professional.
Me: _dead_
I came here to write the same comment, lol.
Would have been bad if he said "fire" instead of "fine".
Watching Jason ace the training and then mangle the routine is so on brand and entertaining.
Lol that's me with card magic
Practice- I'm an expert
Performance- Idk what I'm doing
That's any kind of performance in a nutshell. You can nail everything forward and back in practice and then somehow as soon as the record light comes on you feel your ability halve.
Brian giggling in the background makes it so much funnier
YESSSSSS HILARIOUS
lmao yeah
Him bullshitting the script is really really funny too
Calm down sir, i was trained by a professional
he handled that PERFECTLY! Fricking awesome!
Murphy's improv skills are ON POINT.
You mean "ON FIRE"
Flavour Ruling Nah, that’s his hands.
26:23 Brian's "oh dear, that's bad" and Murphy's no-sale response was gold.
"Some people have questioned the nutritional value of flame"
I guarantee you instantly burn every calorie you eat
Chris K. 😂😂 absolutely brilliant!
Aging, or even simple locomotion utilizes oxygen. We use it as fuel, just as an open flame requires air, its just oxidizing FAST. So literally from your conception, you are sloooowly burning to death. Yummy.

Brian going absolutley mental in the backgorund during Jason's performance was the best
These two are the epitome of best friends and I love it. It's insane how supportive Brian was during the performance.
this had better get all the views. this is their best work, trust me, I was there.
Lucky,
Sorry, I can't trust you unless you were trained by a professional

I don't think I'm supposed to like Jason's act more than Brians, but I do.
Brian's is a warmup, Jason's is a full show
I'm pretty sure Brian does too
It's the difference of someone who knows what they are doing and someone who doesn't but can compensate with comedy
The enamel furnace. That's a great band name
The performance was super jank but Jason did a great job improvising! And his speech was fantastic! "Some people have questioned the nutritional value of flame. I guarantee you....that it has none" is my favorite line!!
Now Jason needs to teach Brian his mastry of Witty puns and SciFi pop culutre references and they'll be on equal footing.
Also Jason's flashy nunchuck moves, then theyll be on equal footing

Me during the life of Modern Rogue: "Brian's fire eating is cool, but too risky for to ever want to attempt"
Watches Jason ace it and feels like a chump
Jachin Harder oh I totally want to find a professional fire eater who is a good teacher and learn this stuff!
i love it when brian just casually grabs the fire while talking as if its second nature to him because it is
the Injury Counter is gonna have a field day
As much as Brian is impressed Jason got it so quickly, he truthfully has an excellent instructor
In which Brian Brushwood corrupts his best friend.
Modern Rogue: "Don't try this at home"
Half their subs: "We tried it anyway.. and can eat fire now!"
Kane at home is the key term...I do it at my friends home
I’m gonna try it at work

@@refraggedbean plot twist: he's a professional fire eater. That is his work
Other half are dead
"That's exciting"
"Yeah"
"Want me to try it?"
"No"
😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is gold.
1. Jason's surprise and excitement when he gets it is awesome (same with Brian's surprise)
2. When he doesn't quite get it, Jason is sad in just the right way.
3. The performance at the end is incredibly impressive, and somehow better because Brian is on mic for it and is quietly, proudly losing it.
I’ve been doing fire tricks for going on 12 years now and Brian’s book really is the most complete reference ever! I periodicolly reread sections just to keep my skills sharp.
"Okay now this one!
Oh btw your teeth could crack... Now do it!"
I love how nonchalant that came XD
That save Jason made during the juggling bit, was perfect, and I love how you could tell Brian was impressed with the quick call
This just might be the best episode ever. Fucking phenomenal performance, Murphy. It was every bit as entertaining as Brian's.
Jason's hand on fire thing was the pinnacle of improv
Reminds me of the old scam school spiky hair days. It’s fun seeing Brian be the expert
I love Brian losing his shit in the background of Jason casually butchering his routine
You can almost feel the injury counter wanting to give way. Let's tally up the injuries in today's video!
- Jason's burnt hand 26:20
- Jason's burnt tongue (between practice and show)
- Jason's burnt lips 24:20
The hand was on fire it didn't burn.
So is Jason just a natural at fire eating, or are there a few dozen attempts that were cut out?
Definitely a couple hundred takes cut out
The Modern Rogue revels in failure and mistakes. They don't do this for ultimate success. If there were failed attempts, they would have absolutely included them. Just as they always have. If anything, Jason's immediate success is almost disappointing, impressive though it is.
Holy crap, Jason's a natural!
@@brodieknight772 TRUE
Or maybe it's actually super easy, and Brian wants us to think it's hard so that he's more impressive
Brian laughing like a little schoolgirl
"Calm down sir, I was trained by a professional"
Did Jason sign a waiver or is he doing thos on friendship points?
Friendship points, duh
This was such an american question.
@@WiseWik jokes on you. Not American, though the Modern Rogue is.... Also Brian does throw warnings enough to make you wonder if it's just for the viewers
Jasons attempts on the fire eating show is the funniest thing ive seen today

Jason should teach Brian HTML
Stupid Name-requidments
I remember that video lol
Dude, I don't know if that's a good idea. HTML is some serious shit. Brian might get hurt.

I love how enthusiastic Brian's coaching is.
Jason certainly has gone a long way in his fire control in the 2 years since he nearly lit my face on fire with an explosive balloon. That was a fun weekend. :D
Is there video of the incident??
I don't THINK so, but not 100% sure what ended up getting filmed that day, so... maybe somewhere in the MR b-roll archives haha

brians teaching style is so underrated, ever since i started watching scam school ive stolen his style when teaching anyone anything and i always get compliments on how good my teaching is lol its the best feeling when you say something weird that clicks with the person and theyre like "oh shit, i can do it now!"
1:36 I love how Jason did the Vernon Wand Spin before Brian could even finish explaining it.
26:18 the pro is scared and the newbie doesn't care
To quote Murphy, “I’m too stupid to be scared!”
@@CorrectGrammar04 I'm planning to get a tattoo of that.
He did the right thing though.
When you're on stage and desperately trying to "git 'er done," you could get fucking stabbed and your first response would be to act like the stabbing was part of the bit.
I love how Jason did a satire of Brian's fire eating performance. It was in that sense so perfect even with the mishaps.
Awesome work Jason. Despite some failures you kept it going and kept up the entertainment value. Very cool. Also very impressed at how Brian has been willing to give away his book just so people are that much safer just in case they actually try this on their own.
My respect for Jason is so massive right now. I think he did an totally awesome job. I would be so afraid. Also seems like Brian did an awesome job teaching it
I love how Jason appreciates the seriousness of this training and does little joking throughout all of it.
This was awesome! It showed just how much of a master Brian is at this and it showed Jason is hilarious even when worried/distracted. That improvised Twice the Flame was badass!
"calm down sir its fine! i was trained by a professional"
"did you see my hand was on fire ?!?"
Best episode yet! I was laughing so hard watching Jason failing every attempt to extinguish the torch in the show, and hearing brian laughing in the background.

Great job Jason, and great job teaching Brian...you two are awesome.
Brian and Jason need to go on a survival weekend together somewhere, building shelters and fires and messing around.
This is in the comments of a lot of the survivalist episodes and Jason *so* wants it to happen

So did jason nail the classes and mess up the presentation? XD he did well tho, when his hands got on fire he staies really calm

I love seeing Brian in his element. Seeing him as a genuine expert in something is extremely satisfying 🔥🍽
Sir calm down I'm a profesional
Best line
Riley Ingram nah its “im trained by a professional”
beautiful job, jason! very proud of not hearing "oh goddamn, your face is on fire!" for this one.
And the set didn't catch on fire and Jason looked badass! Great job Brian and Jason! I would never have the guts to do most of those trick. ^.^

I also notice that Retro Replay fan in the "audience." Also class.

I love jasons show , its absolutely amazing
I've laughed many times at episodes of The Modern Rogue. but NEVER as hard as I did 24:15 when Brian hits him with a "WOAH" and Jason replies "Calm down Sir".... and then NAILS IT
That got to me too
Been watching the modern rogue for some time - this is by far the best video yet! Legitimately amazing! Props to Jason on being a born fire eater!
20:42 "The tighter your *OwO* the longer you can hold on to that flame"
I'd pay to see Jason's fire eating show. Had me in tears lol.
The episode I've been waiting for!
This may be my favorite Modern Rogue episode ever. From Brian's delight at Jason's savant-like twirling, to Jason's obvious nervous excitement at getting into the reality of fire-eating, to the actual performance results and success, to Brian's cackling at the parts that didn't go quite perfectly...so much win here. One thing I never considered with fire-eating: probably not a great idea to have longer facial hair when you do this, right?
Edited to add: And, SOOOOO much sweat throughout...and not from the fire. LOL
He does have Brian’s years of expertise to guide him when Brian only had himself but still very amazing
Hand gets lit on fire
Brian: oh dear. That's bad
Murphy: sir, calm down. I was trained by a professional
“We gotta stop filming in an empty Applebee’s dude.” There are tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. This whole video was a masterpiece.
I felt so bad for Jason when he kept messing up the pants trick. He looked soooooooo embarrassed!
I thought he handled it really well
These days you need to remember, that all pants that look like jeans are not necessarily denim. LOL
Can I withdraw my comment on the previous video about Brian's routine being the best. Jason just took the top spot. Bravo!
This is the best kind of content on RUclips, and if the algorithm is just and fair (which it isn't), it should be shared far and wide. Honestly, I love every single video on this channel, and this is coming from someone who has followed Brian since episode 25 of Scam School on Rev3. Much like a good whisky, it just gets better with age!
That was Amazing! Jason, what a beast! What are your balls made of?! And the routine had me in tears. Loved it!
That was awesome, Jason has a fall back plan now. Master Comedian Fire Eater.
Honestly GREAT JOB Jason! You really impressed me!
Wow, I am extremely impressed with how well this went
I love the "fire juggling" one. Its so simple but looks cool.
I agree
that was super impressive for him to just learn this so quick
Brian: *a capella grilled cheese ballad*
Me: *eating golden brown grilled cheese* ... well now im morally obligated to learn fire-eating.
That's the bravest thing I've seen in a long time.
Where he ate the fire, man's oldest enemy and friend?
No, where he gave a public performance of a skill he literally learned hours before.
I don't know what was more funny and intertaing, Jason's performance, or Brian's laughs and comments. Hell, I even enjoyed his mess ups
This is half because jason is actually good at it, and half because brian is a really good teacher, it takes me to learn something from scratch for like 3 years, then a friend of mine gets taught it by me in 2 minutes. It shows that youre a good teacher
Jason's performance at the end was hands down one of the funniest things I've ever seen. GG dude, you nailed it, haha!
Very awesome seeing all of this. My first real interaction with Brian was him teaching me how to fire eat up in SF. Great instructor, was a blast.
Absolutely amazing, Brian and Jason, you guys are awesome
That was sick Jason! Good job
I love seeing Brian get so genuinely excited for his homie learning a new skill so quickly
No bitterness about it being too easy, just happy because that's his homie
This video is a half hour of pure gold. Loved this video guys one of the best ones yet!!
Watching this again and it’s just so good! What a wonderful video
Haha the pressure got to Jason at the end but the laugh and your push to keep going was amazing
I Can't believe Jason still has a beard & the injury counter wasn't reset. Well done boys!
So surprised that there wasn't a pink floyd album cover reference (like the burn episode).
