you could force yourself out of tape or zip ties, and just peel the tape off your feet, the tools can be used more as a rope or handcuffs escape. But that just, me.

You should do a MacGyver escape special. You get only a swiss army knive and have to escape a scenario.
and you can only use everyday objects that you would normally find in the scenario, and to top it off, theres a ticking bomb with 1 minute left on the timer :)

Surely you mean "only a Swiss Army knife *and duck tape* to escape the scenario"...
That should be Brian's revenge for the TCDS episode: lock Grandpants in a room with knife and he has to search to find different means of revealing escape tools (like LPL's pick set) and run free back to his base. Better if it's multiple rooms to go through and if it's unfamiliar.
When you guys decide to branch out into other fields, you guys should make escape rooms because a Modern Rogue escape room would be awesome.

My problem with the rogue’s ring is that if you’re kidnapped they will probably try to take anything of value off of you, like a ring for instance
I mean to be fair these are all possible, just requires going slow and taking time, witch you would have plenty of if you've been kidnapped
not if you're being watched. Also, motivation is an important factor, so's not dropping your tool out of reach... the fact that they didn't once actually manage it on their own while having their hands restrained casts it all in a great amount of doubt for me.
But maybe you'll be lucky and be kidnapped with someone else and not completely separated (even better if you're never kidnapped but).

@@FreeER They could have EASILY made them all work but they were too lazy and not dedicated enough to actually TRY. It caused their wrist a little pain to twist in the ties so they gave up.

If it's already too hard when you're not under stress and being watched or even injured...how hard do you think it'd be for the average person who actually needs the crap.

Yeah hand in fist the push outwards with your wrists, it can snap it, but also super hurt you so do it if you are in real danger, don't do it just to test it.

8/29/19 the day Jason learned too much about Brian....
For the razor wire one, you can probably do your wrists easier than the others, by gripping the ends between your toes, and using your leg power. (For the record, I'm pretty sure I didn't come up with this idea, but I have no recollection where I learned this technique. Sorry for not crediting anyone)
I remember seeing a similar technique from a TV show, although they used a shoe lace. Don't that would work quite as well
So if I kidnap someone, take their loose change and wedding ring. Gotcha ; )
yes, strip them completely, don't forget to check their hair as well as perform a cavity search if you really want to be serious xD
Not only does that remove any useful items from them but it tends to be very emotionally impactful as well.

You don't need a blade or saw at all for smaller zip ties. You can break them with the zip tie hip slam thing. It's really easy. I've practiced it a few times and taught all of my little siblings how to do it.
Also replacing your shoe laces with 550 paracord is a good idea. It works as a friction saw. Unlace your shoe, tie a loop around the toe of your foot, throw the cord over the zip tie or duct tape on your hands, and then loop the other end to your other foot. Then you basically make peddling motions to drag the paracord across the restraints. It will eat right through them.
The ring with the handcuff shim is a solid choice.
100 Deadly Skills channel will show you how to just break tape or zip ties,
however cuff usually need a tool.
They also require practice.

Military trick: 550 cord boot laces, untie one boot, loop over zip ties or duct tape, tie to the other boot. Use your feet to saw through. Works on just about anything other than the actual steel lined zip cuffs.
Hey Ryan Rushwood, just be sure to make sure that the workers adjust those cabinate doors on either side of the oven because those door hinges need some adjusting. Should just me a screwdriver if the hinges are made adjustable. And also, I hope that those walls are only primered because if that is your finish paint, well, the ladder against the wall is a bad reflection on the person who set it there.
Pro tip: teeth can chew through duct tape and plastic zip ties and you always have them on you.

Shenanigans. If you get kidnapped, you likely won't have pants or shoes left, let alone any change in your pants your no longer wearing.
I want an escape room type scenario where the drawers and cabinets and couch cushions are riddled with items from previous episodes and Brian gets tied up in a room and has an hour to figure out how to use those tools to do various tasks that lead to his escape.
I used to tie myself up to take naps. The presure helped with my arthritis.... I had to get really good at figuring out how to untie myself because I'd untie myself and retie myself in even more convuluted difficult knots in my sleep....
I love all these gadgets but im pretty sure i could chew through both ductape and or a ziptie faster.
I think they would work better on rope.
I like the idea that someone would bind your feet, but not your hands, and that the easiest way to remove the tape is by using a coin saw.

With the saw filament, you can hold one end under your foot, loop it between your bound wrists, and pin the other end under your other foot. Then just slide the tape along the saw by moving your hands, providing the pressure and motion with them against the stationary saw

I’d like to just point out that you can get out of zip ties or duct tape by thrusting your arms towards you really hard - each arm going either side. This causes the zip ties or duct tape to break
hold your hands together pointing down towards your toes, and push up very hard and fast and it should snap zip ties easily

Ironically, what takes less time, costs less and makes you look more like a badass is the tactics you taught when Scam Nation was still Scam School.
There should a separate video about things you can do if you're actually kidnapped, for instance, you should ALWAYS cross your wrists if you're getting zip tied to give your wrists more space for getting out of them XD

One thing that was ignored in this video is that most "kidnappers" won't bind your hands in front of you, they'll tape/zip-tie them behind your back, making everything that much harder.
A fan kidnaps the two friends. They're trapped in a dank basement, the Fan's mother's basement infact. This fan not knowing that the two use privacy.com and whatever VPN of the week they're advertising, and had bought many ecape tools. They dropped them all, their hands were too sweaty.

When it comes to the hands I suggest that it's possible to make it with your hands bound.
To get it around the tape is possible.
Like flipping a coin you can flip it between your two arms then its over the tape. Use your toes to pinch that one and then either your mouth or your thumb and kmdex finger you cam with small movements cut through it.
Dude. You use the filament to cut your feet out, then drape the filament over your wrist bindings, step on the 2 ends of the saw, and move your hands back and forth. Boom. Escaped.

Those nickel tools are going to be super susp outside the States. Its one of my pet peeves about spy tools.
Also - and it may just be me - but in my experience, that blue, plasticy rope is a very common and effective bind for limbs, so you'll have to hope your captors leave you alone long enough to cut through that.

Forget all those tools, you don't need them. Breaking out of a zip tie is easy, when they go to bind your wrist, make fists so there's a small gap between your wrists. To break the zip tie extend your fingers so your hands are flat and straight and together like praying hands. Extend your arms out all the way in front of you, and as fast and hard as you can bring your arms down and your elbows back behind you, this will force your arms apart as your extended fingers make your arms a lever and the zip tie will snap.
If you’re wrists are bound, with tape for sure, maybe with zip ties put your knee between your wrists, push with your knee using it like a wedge and pull back with your wrists and you can break most binds with this method
This is like an infomercial talking you out of buying something, by showing how ineffective it is.
For those small blades, why not stand up, put the blade to the side of a chair and step on the handle with one of your feet. Then use that to cut the zip ties or duck tap.
With the right technique, you can break out of larger zip ties and multiple rounds of duct tape without any problems. Is standar learning on many survival / sere courses and there are many videos online that show it. Learned that the SERE course in military special force department and then we had some thicker zip ties and a few more rounds of duct tape.
For both duct tape and zip ties on your wrists, there's something you can do that doesn't require a tool. If your arms are otherwise free, extend them, and bring your wrists toward your chest *hard.* With enough force, you can break the bond.
And yes, I understand this is not within the scope of the video. This is not a comment to tell you you're wrong. Just something to keep in mind if you're considering another video of ways to escape, perhaps when you've been totally stripped of anything that might be a tool.
So the only thing I learned from this is I'm totally screwed if I get nabbed up for whatever reason.

And...as we know from Scam School, you can brute force out of zip ties and duct tape oftentimes by slamming your hands against your chest as a wedge to drive them apart. Rogue's Ring is still a nice addition to the arsenal though.

Yeah, in general you should probably stay away from anything that could sound like a request or demand in the middle of something, exceptions are perhaps if you're in public and ask for a specific drink etc.
