Thanks for the tutorial! Hp designed this so badly it happens to often Pls take note that if it happens in the first year, it’s a manufacturing fault so HP should do it for free if you bought it from them
Thanks so much for the tutorial! I just ordered a backplate and used double sided tape from home to secure the screen and the cushiony rectangles inside. I did not remove the base, but with carefulness and patience (and unscrewing the other hinge), I had no problem. Everything works wonderfully, and I have you to thank! I only hope the new hinge attachments last longer this time around....
Thank you for the tutorial! I had the same problem and just ordered the backplate, tools from Ifixit, followed your video till 6:09 and then did everything in reverse. My backplate had all the copper foil and wires already installed. I just forgot to feed camera and mic wires back down and had to open the screen a second time, but my tape wasn't as stubborn as the factory tape and it was pretty easy. I also put some hot glue in the weak spot. Be careful and don't put too much though xD Thanks a lot again!
I just set aside my bank holiday afternoon to follow your excellent tutorial, thank you so much! I would never have had the confidence to tackle this without it... and it worked perfectly. In my case, as in the video, it wasn't actually the hinges, it was the base they screw into, i.e the plastic of the cover, which gave out... I suspect this is almost always the case. I bought the back cover from Ebay and a set of hinges, so I didn't need the hinges after all - but I'm happy thank you!
Super useful. Thanks you! I started following another video, as in this video @Thepcphone disconnects the screen from the base/keyboard panel, which seemed like an extra work at first. After getting halfway through replacing LCD Back Cover, I realised why he did that and reverted back to following instructions in this video removing the keyboard/base panel. Conclusion: Remove keyboard/base panel first as shown in this video to save yourself time fiddling with it later.
never thought that this laptop has such silly problem. mine has the same exact problem as yours. anyway, can i just glue the screen and hinge into the case using epoxy? bc i dont think that replacing the case is possible (at least in my area), and gluing on the hinge will not be permanent solution. what is the drawback for this except for whole screen assembly replacement in case something bad happen? thank you
the hinge of my envy 360 broke, i opened the screen and i found that the plastic in which the hinge screws are places (on top lid side) is broken. so i used epoxy adhesive to put the hinge back. it was quiet strong. the i put everything back together but now my laptop is stuck on tablet mode. i think there's a sensor affected when i assemble the parts. pls help

Hello, what tape did You use to secure the screen and lid back together.
how's the display quality of that? because HP one is really good
@@babymantuck3256 had some leftover tape that holds the iPhone screen down but any double sided tape specialized for screens would work
@@BanishedByNightmares quality is good, but small thing to note is that the touch screen is not compatible with pens

Hello, what is the thickness of the replacement tape used to secure screen to the lid.

How much this panel costs?
Why can't you use the same top cover?
I think it’s because the bolts have been ripped out of the plastic backing.
Potentially could be glued back in but I doubt it would last
