Please do it more even with many basic ideas, good tips to learn. I am sure your books are good to explain , but always the F2F gives a clear understanding , and your humor never bores! Okay, so as an artist who primarily works in figures/portraits, I feel like a major part of figure study was left out. AND I never heard it in the "real world." I'm amazed that the inches between points is so precise. I've always used ratios and had no idea that vastly different people's "points" can fall within an inch or two with certainty.
    I don't know if this knows would have helped my art and development, but I am pretty chapped that I'm still paying off an education that didn't include it.
    Cheers from the Last Coast and I look forward to learning more. SUBBED.

    Hi, Nick! I absolutely love your videos!
    I have an adjustable dress form that doesn't have princess seams, is there any tips on how to find the princess seams so I can mark it with the black twill tape?
    And are the side seams in an adjustable form usable when draping, since the sides overlap/ have gaps when adjusted to my size? Thank you :)

    • @NickVerreosFashionSchool
      @NickVerreosFashionSchool  7 лет назад +14

      Hi LT Smile:
      Good question--It's a little tricky marking the side seams of those adjustable forms especially since it's like there's an "open space" where you really can't place anything. However, I would try somehow to do so. Maybe pining at the top and then the bottom of that "open space" and vertically placing a twill tape, to mark the side seam. Try it. But yes, it is a little difficult. Another suggestion is to somehow pin and drape a piece of fabric (muslin) onto your adjustable form covering the open area and then marking the center of that as your side seam. Try that! Good luck and let me know if that works! --Nick

    • @margobergene463
      @margobergene463 5 лет назад +1

      What do you think of using a "t-shirt" to cover the adjustable form including shoulder pads so you have a surface to mark up with tape or sharpie markers? @@NickVerreosFashionSchool

    thanks nick, you've a God sent. Learning a lot from your videos. You rock. Quick question, what other fabric can one use aside muslin for draping?

    • @NickVerreosFashionSchool
      @NickVerreosFashionSchool  7 лет назад +7

      Hi Nabel: You can use cheap shirting cotton. Or any cotton/ply bend that is cheap and that you can get from your local fabric store. Think of fabric that would be good for a man's shirt--light, cotton-y and drape-able. But if your draping silky dresses (or sewing silky dress first samples), look for polyester satins (cheap ones!) as your choice of a "muslin". --Nick
