Nice work, interesting to see how the RP stacked up to the R5. Personally I think the choice of 24mm lens let you down more than the RP body. If you both used the 50mm, I think it would have been a lot closer. Just seeing the photos on the RUclips video, it would have been a bit hard to tell which was which.

Great shots dude! You both killed it! She’s also a great model which always makes everything easier. Its good to see how she was always ready and mindful about the timing. Would’ve liked to see you two swapping lenses for the 1-minute round or something like that just to spice things up a little bit. Keep it up!

both very different styles of shooting and both great works. I gotta say though those lenses that can open so wide just do so well with portraits. since this a portrait face off, you did yourself a disservice. woulda been better off with the 85 f2. not a bad lens but better for portraits than that 24mm… that bokeh on that 1.2 just ate every time. still good job though 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

yep the RP is is much more than the specs, but 24mm for portraits..... that's not my thing.

This is little pointless when used two dramatically different focal lengths. The 24 mm here is not a good idea - unless you are doing shoes commercial shots ;) - 50 mm shots were just better looking, no matter the camera here.

It's would be a better challenge using the same lense.

Hey Carlo, how do you feel about the RP not having IBIS. Do you ever feel like it not having it affects your shots when you use the 24mm Art?
I mean if you look at my photos or my photos on Instagram do they look affected ? I don’t think so haha! I’ve never had a problem with it! The rp is great value.
Just need to have a lens with ibis.

You went up against the legendary 50mm f1.2. Very brave my friend. The RP performs quite well. I must say that your poses and images were a little less typical, less predictable than those of your opponent. You took more chances perhaps. I might say you have more moxy. Nothing against the other photographer. He has talent.

Maybe have 3 minute rounds for the r5 and 8 minute rounds for the rp to compensate for the slower af. Hehe

I've maybe the unpopular opinion on canon rp and R but sorry the color science is awful compare to Canon DSLR. I made two wedding with both cameras and the outcome is different with the same settings, same location, same lighting condition... Canon mirrorless is more sony than Canon...

I'd be interested to know what raw converter you're using. Because if it's Adobe that's most likely the problem.

Cool video and nice shot. As usual, its the lens, not the camera body that's most important. Its just a shame the RF lenses are so absurdly priced. I had the RP, twice. Its an ok camera but really lacking. No mechanical shutter is a huge downside. Terrible 1/4000s EFCS only means its unusable in bright light with the fast RF primes unless you stock up on ND filters. Not so great AF. Only 1 card slot. No IBIS. Huge crop in 4K video. Poor EVF. The R6 is a huge upgrade, RP is really only suitable as a backup for studio work IMO but I won't go there again. I now have an X-T4 as a second body.
Thanks mate! I like to think it’s both lens and body but I’d lean towards the importance of the lens! Also TK is using the R5 and I’m using the RP we both have different lenses… although both photos turned out awesome in my eyes! I think the RP is actually a great camera for the price and what you get… you wouldn’t buy it if you are using it for big production! All my work and all my photos the RP is used… if I can get the photos and video from my RP then I think anyone can no matter what the RP has or hasn’t got!
Price for lenses is the worst though hahaha and I don’t own any ND filters!
