Russian is really easy to read at first sight, because it seems like letter=sound. But we have letters that we can't pronounce (ь and ъ), our stresses don't have special rules (sometimes we don't even know where the right stress is so we create rules for these words and learn them for exams) and ofc we have soft and hard consonants. Good luck for those, who want to learn Russian. Our language is beautiful, but really hard even for us.

Никогда в жизни не говорил ИПОНИЯ и ДЕВИТЬ. Считаю что проглатывание букв - признак плохой культуры речи. It's not that hard. Present tense - люблю, любим, любишь, любите, любит, любят Past tense - любил, любила, любило, любили Future tense - буду любить, будем любить, будешь любить, будете любить, будет любить, будут любить See, when talking about future, you only have to know how the additional verb 'быть' changes. Past tense is the easiest one. Present is what causes some struggle because the word might undergoe confusing changes (like писать - пишут, гнать - гоню). Still, imo, Russian has less tangled rules for verb declension than Spanish, for instance - there you have to learn tons of endings/root changes and the exceptions (in each tense!) AND operate a system with several past tenses (something mindboggling for native Russian speakers lol). So in total, there are 16 verb forms of любить, if we count the future tense + the infinitive itself. But 17 is still manageable, I think 😅 One can also add любящий ('loving'), любивший ('loving' as well, or 'who loved') and любимый ('loved by'), although these words aren't classified as verbs in Russian. They have word forms of their own - 4, 4 and 8, respectively. That makes 33 'verb' forms. Words like полюбить or разлюбить are separate from любить. They have the same root (люб) and prefixes that give them new meaning. That is similar in function to English phrasal verbs (but the meanings are waaay easier to remember). Bonus points: in most cases, the new words will get the exact same endings as the original verb of this root. Любить - люблю - любим... Полюбить - полюблю - полюбим... This time it's even simpler as полюбить won't have future tense - it already expresses an upcoming feeling. Note that the way Russian verbs are declined is more or less standartized. So you don't have to learn 33 forms of every verb by heart. Just memorize one big rule, 13 exceptions of that rule and several cases of root changes, and you'll be able to speak (and write) Russian as a pro. Until you come across the declension of nouns... 😱

I counted 15 forms of the verb ‘люблю’:

I know there are actually more than 100 of them . Russian is one of the most difficult languages to learn.
they are not all different forms of a verb, they just have same root

Present tense - люблю, любим, любишь, любите, любит, любят
Past tense - любил, любила, любило, любили
Future tense - буду любить, будем любить, будешь любить, будете любить, будет любить, будут любить
See, when talking about future, you only have to know how the additional verb 'быть' changes. Past tense is the easiest one. Present is what causes some struggle because the word might undergoe confusing changes (like писать - пишут, гнать - гоню).
Still, imo, Russian has less tangled rules for verb declension than Spanish, for instance - there you have to learn tons of endings/root changes and the exceptions (in each tense!) AND operate a system with several past tenses (something mindboggling for native Russian speakers lol).
So in total, there are 16 verb forms of любить, if we count the future tense + the infinitive itself. But 17 is still manageable, I think 😅
One can also add любящий ('loving'), любивший ('loving' as well, or 'who loved') and любимый ('loved by'), although these words aren't classified as verbs in Russian. They have word forms of their own - 4, 4 and 8, respectively.
That makes 33 'verb' forms.
Words like полюбить or разлюбить are separate from любить. They have the same root (люб) and prefixes that give them new meaning. That is similar in function to English phrasal verbs (but the meanings are waaay easier to remember).
Bonus points: in most cases, the new words will get the exact same endings as the original verb of this root.
Любить - люблю - любим...
Полюбить - полюблю - полюбим...
This time it's even simpler as полюбить won't have future tense - it already expresses an upcoming feeling.
Note that the way Russian verbs are declined is more or less standartized. So you don't have to learn 33 forms of every verb by heart. Just memorize one big rule, 13 exceptions of that rule and several cases of root changes, and you'll be able to speak (and write) Russian as a pro. Until you come across the declension of nouns... 😱
