Having a removable battery is a big plus for people in urban areas where not all residential societies are willing to provide a charging socket. The major reason why I bought Pure-ev Epluto 7G but did not even consider major brands like Chetak, Ather etc.

Today I went for a Vida test ride. Good things - Its comfortable and the suspension is good. The handle bar won't touch the knee while taking turns ( I am 6.2 feet). Boot space is huge. Pillion comfort is also good. Long seat. Negatives - Build quality is not that good as Ather. Since it's hub motor, we need to give more than 50% of accelerator for 40 speed. Front side mudguard is open and cables are visible. Pannel gaps are there. Fit and finish is not good. Even though it has a touch screen, it does not have a Google map. It has a turn by turn indicator like the Bluetooth edition of access. Takes 7 hours for full charge.( Home charger). Costs 1.68 lakhs in Bangalore. Ladies foot rest comes as an accessories but quality of ladies foot rest is very poor. Range in real world would be ~100 to 110. Ather is value for money but not comfortable. If you are a tall rider and wants to travel with pillion ( wife and child), and have been looking for an electric version of Suzuki access 125; then go for it. Good scooter, but I guess mass market scooters just need normal dials and basic functionality so that costs remain low. At a time when the industry needs people to embrace 2 wheeler EVs in large numbers, funky feel good features need to be toned down to make the scooters a better deal. As for a normal commuter like me and many others, all we need a reliable basic scooter for 10 km runs at max.
Removable battery is a big game changer, while charging infra is still at large.. But a sweet spot of below 120k price is what the customers are ok to buy in the market..
own an iQube really isn't cheap still 1.3 on road in hyd atleast but i like that it doesn't stand out in traffic screaming I'm an electric only went for TVs for their service and it's been quite good so far
Why is the battery warranty only 30k km? Is it because they have not provided active cooling and they expect the battery to last only 50k km? Companies 'test to failure' a lot of times before deciding warranty so it's a HUGE red flag for me.
Thank you for the detailed review of the pre-final production Scooter. Yes, as you mentioned there are certain drawbacks that the company needs to review and fix. Regarding the price, it seems to be the highest amongst the scooters available now and that would act as a drawback in the sales. Manufacturers should note the point that EVs will be the future and if we have to go green, then they have to come out with innovative ideas, models and affordable prices. However, it is agreed that better features will surely cost more but should not be exorbitant. Every company indents to do business for profit but if they believe in the principle of sustainable profit, their sales would increase a lot. Sell more for Rs. 10 instead of Rs. 15/-, I'm I right?
I think this model will do very well. Hero clearly has a well-thought-out strategy of entering at the top end before going mass market. Disappointed that the reviewer appeared biased by his own opinions re. looks, price, and highlights some gaps in build quality even though we know it's a pre-production vehicle. Sometimes, it may be better to provide a neutral fact-based review only.
Hi, here is my Genuine good and dark side of Vida v1 pro. I have been using this Vida v1 pro for the last 5 months. Pros: 1. Sustained range (Eco mode -105 km, Ride mode - 75 km, Sports mode - 65 km) 2. Good pickup (ride and sports mode) 3. Better handling compared to some other electric scooters 4. Removal Battery's ## Disadvantages ## : 1. No fast charging stations 2. Quality of switches are very poor. 3. Takes up to 8 hours to fully charge (home charger) 4. Malfunctioning Scooty suddenly goes to LIMP HOME and stops running. (I recorded all this issues on my phone) 5. The seat is not designed to close properly with the boot, so every time you go on bad roads, it makes a dug dug dug... noise, which is very annoying for the rider next to you and other passengers. 6. Braking system is not up to the mark. 7. You can't see live maps, call logs or messages on your screen. 8. Vida v1 pro app has many bug fixes. 9. If you create new ride mods, it will cause the Scooty and app software to malfunction. 10. Sometimes scooty won't detect both batteries. 11. Coming to the service center, this is the most annoying and worst part of HERO company. I kept my bike in the service center for about 30 days out of 60 days from the date of purchase. (1st time 7 days - limp home, headlight switch problems) (2nd time 8 days - 1st service, suspension issue not resolved by HERO service center) (3rd time 8 days - software malfunction, LIMP home and rear suspension sound issue not resolved till now) (4th time, 4 days and still at service station - Suspension and boot sound issue) Conclusion : This vida v1 pro is not worth the price. 1,45,000 (EX showroom price) And they should focus on the quality level of switches, braking system, software malfunction, app bugs issues, LIMP HOME mode issues, Boot sound issue. They should train their mechanics well (some mechanics are discussing that they only took 1 week of normal training to service vida v1 pro, this is enough for them. clearly indicates a lack of understanding of pro's in finding and solving problems). I recommend it if it comes in Price 1,20,000 on the road or go with other electric bikes.
I don't understand why people dont review battery purchases cost once its out of warranty. That like 50 % of bikes cost. And thats where EV falls flat on its face. It's ridiculous not to discuss it openly
Agreed... I have same question from the last 3 years... Once you have to replace the battery it will cost around 50% of the vehicle. And battery has to be replaced after 5 years... Being optimistic and being practical all two different things.
@@DSouzaVM forget after 5 year. What if something happens to battery which is not covered under warranty agreement. That car or bike is a scrap. I am telling you EV car and bikes are biggest a scam corporates are doing to people. Full stop.

It's obviously better choice than Ather. A quality scooter does everything better than ather 👍👌👌 Instead of ather go for this scooter more range more power more comfort more storage more features
Being ambitious on pricing is all very well. Matching the value proposition is quite another thing altogether, though. Cutting corners in plastic trims and panels for one is definitely no way to achieve that! The removable battery isn't all that useful either, given the average walk most users will have to make with the 11kg battery from the parking to the plug point in their home or office. Plus who wants to carry a fire hazard with them into a closed space, anyways.
I am genuinely scared about the future and where it is all heading to!!! Lithium is hard to recycle and very expensive, and lithium batteries are extremely toxic for the environment, and a huge raise in the usage of EVs = more harm of the environment in the long run!!!
I think the usecase for two battery is too strong!!! I can put one for charging when I am travelling with the other this also increases range with one battery as now its less than 11kgs overall if i remove one battery! So basically no time need to be spent charging if there are two batteries since one can in charging when other is being used. Also effective use of one battery since other battery is not there as dead weight if not really required for the range it is travelling. Sounds like a brilliant combination
This approach actually shows Hero isn't interested in making electric scooters. It bought out Ather and stalled it's development for years. This Vida is also a token due to mounting pressure from Ola and upcoming Simpl scooter. Hero is ultimately doomed.
