Josh, you certainly do have quite a bit of gear. All I know is that your videos are absolutely awesome, including the audios, the visuals, the quality of your videos, and your presentations. TOPS 👏🤗📹 📷
Hands down my favorite travel RUclips channel. Love the editing style, photography, all of it is perfection, I almost feel nostalgic when each episode comes out. It has a similar emotional impact on me. I feel a sense of aw and inspiration to see so many places.... TIME....need time. Where has pops been? He wasn't on the last few trips.
I can't agree more with other comments. The quality of cinematography is some of the best I have ever seen, along with a great commentary and even advice for if/when you visit yourself. By far one of my favorite gems on RUclips to watch. Always blown away with the trips you take.
I’m sure your content this year will be even better! Hope to see a lot more of Pops as well. Everything you do is well done! I’m not very well versed on camera gear but I do enjoy watching you showcase your gear! All the best for 2023!!!
Very enjoyable watching you and your Dad traveling. Your appreciation of beautiful views is super!!! I will be going on the Utah trip soon and will definitely spend time in the ARCHES . They are awe inspiring for sure. Thank you!!! You are the best travel videos out there!!!!
Thank you for the info just got a go pro from my son think it’s an 8 just to teach me …looking forward to seeing what I come up with ..thanking you for sharing your travels…
I am with you on the peak design gear haha. Pricey for sure, got three of those capture clip, one for the camera one for the lens kit, and another for the Moment Strohl Mountain Light Camera Loader, which I highly recommend. You ever get stopped by TSA for the capture clips, when that thing first came out, I got stopped everytime at the Xray machine, but now I think they figured it out.
Thanks for the tip on the camera loader, I will check that out! I haven't been stopped for my clip but I often get stopped for something gear related haha
Thank you so much for taking us on your many adventures. We've been on Route 66 and (enjoyed the refresher) Alaska was another favorite. Key west, we love going (especially Hemmingways) Oatman, (the shoot out was the best & the bar with many dollars) Joe's Crab Shack , (we need to go there) So many favorites! Your camera's "are top notch" the quality is subperb. Love your POPS.
Happy Sunday! It sure is an investment! I’m glad that both your channels are growing; and that you are able to invest in good gear to keep on making great quality content. 🙌🏽
Josh - thanks for sharing the info. Wanted to let you know I also use the a74 and recently traded my Sigma 100-400 for the Sony and the difference is really noticeable and I’m strictly an amateur! In your awesome hands I’m sure you would enjoy it as well.
The Sony 100-400 - it’s a stop faster, definitely sharper, focuses a little faster too. Unfortunately heavier in the wallet though! Anyway, super job on your videos, my wife and I are very big fans! You have inspired a couple big trips for us!
Thank you! I always wondered what you used! I need a smaller backpack as a day pack. Lowe pro has great bags for bringing it all in the plane but just too big for a day pack
Would you have a camera recommendation for someone starting out on their photography journey? You're a big inspiration to me. I'd love to start shooting my adventures with my golden retriever.
I love using peak designs gear! That phone case with all of the different accessories is awesome. I use the tripod and car mount. Happy New Year and please keep the videos coming. Love the road trips!
Wonderful. Would be interesting to hear your data workflow. You shoot a lot of clips and it’s content rich, so I’ve wondered just how you organize all that data. Ie., for some longer 2 hour videos (like the rt66 one) you had new location after new location every 20 to 30 seconds for 2 hours straight. I watched that video and wondered just how you organized all of this. I figured you edited every night back at the hotel, but the voiceover audio was so consistent that I thought maybe not.
Excellent . I am a Sony shooter myself. I recently picked up a new body cap that allows you to hide a apple air tag in it. it gives me peace of mind. I am thinking about a new camer bag.
Thank you for this video! Always great to see what goes on behind the scenes! I have a Sony A7RIV and I love it! I also use the 24-105 lens, best all around lens to have for any trip. Question! What buddy editing software do you use and what microphone do you use to record your audio from your editing studio at home?
We are subscribers and really enjoy your videos. Thank you for taking us along on your travels. What cell phone and service do you use for your travels?
Josh, what do you think about the law that now prohibits filming within the National Parks ? I find it outrageous because as a physically disabled person I enjoy experiencing the outdoor world through your lens. A SAD DAY FOR ME AND OTHERS WHO CAN'T GET AROUND ANYMORE.
Hey Josh! Thanks for the video. Maybe I missed it but do you have any sort of gimbal for your Sony camera or just hold it out with your hand? I assume it has a flip video screen so you can see the frame?
What program(s) do you use to edit your videos? BTW, this is legit my favorite YT channel! My wife, who doesn't really like going on road trips, wants to go on a road trip after watching several of your stunning videos!
Love your videos and adventures!! I do have a question: what program do you use to edit your videos and how do you color edit your footage? I use an iPhone, Insta360 One X2, & the GoPro 11. I have a hard time balancing the color when I use multiple devices. Thanks & keep these awesome videos coming!
1. What type of cameras (and/or videos cameras) do you recommend for people who wants to start up photography (and videos) that are not as expensive? 2. Do you get to "Write off" your camera equipment off your income tax returns.....when you use them on your hikes? 😀
I would just recommend a newer phone before a small camera. Phones are so good now it is hard to have something in between the phone and what I use. The Sony RX series is not bad though if you want something small like that. 2. This is a my full time job so I believe some of it does qualify but I am not good with tax stuff so I always seek help for those questions haha.
Honestly, just starting out I would use my phone. I use my phone for a lot of the videos I make now and it does a great job with photos and video. If you really wanted a camera then I would consider the Sony RX100 series or the A6000 series.
I am still not sure on that one. I have mostly stayed away from national parks at the moment, just posting older stuff from before the ruling. Here is a good video on it. ruclips.net/video/sE4KfEd9boo/видео.html

Such kind words, really appreciate it! Pops will be back soon, got a few videos coming up with him in them!
Josh your videos are absolutely amazing. Your dad seems like a great guy too! Stay safe on all of your travels. Thank you for this content.
Really like these "gear videos" and explanations Josh! Hope to see more.
Thanks, will do!

Just found your channel recently. I love your videos. Great experiences and your dad cracks me up 😂

Lots of great gear! Thanks for sharing this!
No problem!
Hello Josh, I love having just the right gear and taking less instead of more. Thanks so much for sharing ... have a great weekend! Kirk
Me too, I travel as light as possible when I can

Nice! The Sony a7RIV is a cool camera! I use a Sony a6100 and the quality is amazing!
Thanks!
No problem, thank you!
Love your demeanor/pace and videos Josh. Also excellent production values.
Much appreciated!

Thanks for showing us all the gear you use to produce your video's.
My pleasure!
I love using peak designs gear! That phone case with all of the different accessories is awesome. I use the tripod and car mount.
Happy New Year and please keep the videos coming. Love the road trips!
Glad you enjoy Peak Designs as well, I love their stuff!
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always, I love all your videos 👍🙏🤗
Thanks so much 😊
Could you actually do a settings and technique video on how you take photos and videos?
Wonderful. Would be interesting to hear your data workflow. You shoot a lot of clips and it’s content rich, so I’ve wondered just how you organize all that data. Oh wow that is a great idea to have an air tag attached to it!
Love your adventures. Quality videos.
Glad you like them!
Does the sony have good video stabilization built in the camera?
Nice drone. I have the mavic mini and love it, but hooking up the cell phone is a pain in the butt.
haha It really is, I love not having to use my phone anymore
Oh! I’d love to know what microphone you use for your voice over
Thank you for this video! Always great to see what goes on behind the scenes! I have a Sony A7RIV and I love it! I also use the 24-105 lens, best all around lens to have for any trip. Question! The drone shots really do pay off!
Glad you like them!

Gear Stipend!!!
You are very kind, thank you!
I use Final Cut Pro to edit. That is so awesome to hear that you and your wife love the channel!
Awesome, like.
Love your videos and adventures!! I do have a question: what program do you use to edit your videos and how do you color edit your footage? I use an iPhone, Insta360 One X2, & the GoPro 11. Thanks. I will have a Pips donut in your honor.
Pips is the best 🍩
Please do!!
what about the mic you use for the crisp voiceovers????
Josh,
Do you use any kind of stabilizer with your videos? Yours are very stable, amazing if purely hand held. Great videos.
No, I don't use a stabilizer. I try to be really steady and I do some stabilization while editing as well.
@@ThroughMyLens Wow, good stable hands. :) If it isn't getting too technical, what software do you use for the stabilization?
1. What type of cameras (and/or videos cameras) do you recommend for people who wants to start up photography (and videos) that are not as expensive? 2. Do you get to "Write off" your camera equipment off your income tax returns.....when you use them on your hikes? 😀

Does you use You Tube editing software or do you use something like Filmora?
What gear did you use starting out, since most people can't afford the Sony a7, what are recommendations on more affordable gear
Honestly, just starting out I would use my phone. I use my phone for a lot of the videos I make now and it does a great job with photos and video. If you really wanted a camera then I would consider the Sony RX100 series or the A6000 series.
Hey man love the video!! What microphone do you use to do voice overs?
I use this mic for voiceovers amzn.to/3Dp03yW
Great job, how old are the twins?
They are 2 years old
Do I spy Morro Rock in the thumbnail?
Yep!
Soo wow💕💕💕👌📌
Hey Josh! Do you use gimball on ur vids?
No I don't use a gimball for the videos
What video editing software do you use?
I use Final Cut Pro
I heard that content creators need permits from the national parks service due to being designated as commercial videography, is this a thing?
I am still not sure on that one. I have mostly stayed away from national parks at the moment, just posting older stuff from before the ruling. Here is a good video on it. ruclips.net/video/sE4KfEd9boo/видео.html
