40 years after recording it, two of the three surviving members of Thin Lizzy at that time are in this line up. Fine to call this Thin Lizzy. Nearest you can get.
They had a number of guitar players, Eric Bell, Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Midge Ure, Snowy White, and John Sykes. The one who was in the band the longest - BY FAR - was Scott Gorham. And Brian Downey helped give that band their sound with his awesome drumming style, and they don't play as Thin Lizzy without him. This is a TRIBUTE to Phil, otherwise no one plays these songs live to crowds of any larger than 200 people. They sound great, they pay tribute to Phil (and Gary), so, for those bashing these guys, what's the problem?
Totally agree with you ,these keep Phil's memory alive and if some young UN gets in to lizzy that's there job done . I was lucky to see one of the last lizzy concerts with Phil live at sheffield city hall ,Great band
I think this sounds great. With Scott Gorham ,respectively, and Ricky Warwick on vocals. With Brian Downey on drums! Very good stuff...Phil would be proud!
Very very sad for Scott and Brian. The lodestar behind Lizzy, that man that gave it that aura of unique untouchability, is not here. As good as this presentation is, and with Scott and Brian here, it's just not the same, and never will be. Just fuck that people have to die, fuck that we have to get old, fuck that we can never recapture our youth again, no matter how newer artists try to purvey the songs that made our youth magic...
Some day you and me are gone. It's what left behind that counts. Phil Lynnot left a lot behind him. I'v met them. In person, invited by the bands management. They was doing a concert in Drammen outside Oslo. I was playing in a band who covered several great songs from Thin Lizzy. And that was a little special in the beginning of the 80s. And today even more rare. Bad sound but bearable. ruclips.net/video/JZDv3ZSkE-w/видео.html
The music itself is fine, even good, but my god what a dusche... The early Thin Lizzy versions had such a cool vibe, and this guy is just posing so so hard.
What is wrong with sound guys today, i think they've got to much stuff to play with, and they lose the plot?? Compare this sound ruclips.net/video/cSo9CC2wKVI/видео.html to the above vdo? Its chalk and cheese. Analogue just sounded better, but thats not the problem here, its the final mix down. Scotts solo has no power whatsoever, Brians solo pumped. Same with Made in Japan - recorded in 1971 and it sounds better than most of Purples digital albums. Dark Side of The Moon - recorded early 70s - Dream Theater, modern digital recording covering that album - sucked (yes i know it was live!) Most engineers don't have their heads around digital recording, the guitars sound thin. (not enough mids) This is a terrible version of this song, actually, its not the playing, its the sound.
What is it with these Celtic rock bands not respecting the demise of their frontman , first Badfinger , then Thin Lizzy now Big Country . Thank god the Beatles were English.
So much hate here it's almost funny. Those guys sounded great and the singer killed it. Try to have your lead singer die and not play any of the songs ever again. What are you gonna call it, Thinner Lizzy? No, you carry on and you fkn keep rocking with the SAME name!!
Meh, as a tribute with special Thin Lizzy guest stars, it’s fine. But as Thin Lizzy it’s kind of embarrassing. They should have called it something else.
WTF is this mess?!!!! That is NOT Thin Lizzy! Almost as bad as the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band calling themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd just because Rossington is still in the band.
Without Moore? He was BRIEFLY in the band twice. They sound great, they pay tribute to Phil (and Gary), so what's the problem?
Thin indeed, very very very thin.... Ethiopian thin, after the famine. Not even good enough to be a high school tribute band, and all the rough elegance of "old" Thin Lizzy has been wiped out by those Cro Magnons that are stepping in shoes that are waaaaaay too big for them. Too bad Gorham gave this shit his blessings. It should be deepsixed until hell freezes over, dogs can fly again and the Earth is flat again. Decline, "Decliner", "Declinest"....

I’ve seen Gary Moore. He was an absolute monster.
Fantastic
Brilliant man. Nostalja.
Tank you for sharing...
brilliant singer and band.
Yes, and Mr. Trump is a good president.
Scott Gorham is just a god
I think this sounds great. With Scott Gorham ,respectively, and Ricky Warwick on vocals. With Brian Downey on drums! Very good stuff...Phil would be proud!

klasse..phil and gary in ehren gehalten.. tolle show..gute erinnerungen..i like it
Nice 👍🏻 tribute
A good reason to grab Live and Dangerous from the private collection und forget about that video as soon as possible.
Seems like a lot of lukewarm or even negative comments. I’m not a musician or audiophile, but I think this rendition is pretty damn good!
Powerful
I like Thin Lizzy like this, Phil Lynott's gone and this is what they've got now, let them get one with it, it's good stuff.
How to make a great band sound amazing? Just add a little bit of Marco Mendoza.
This is not fucking thin Lizzy. This is a tribute band that should never have been allowed to tour under the name thin Lizzy
True
No Lynott, No Lizzy.😥
Some day you and me are gone. It's what left behind that counts. Phil Lynnot left a lot behind him. I'v met them. In person, invited by the bands management. Bad sound but bearable. ruclips.net/video/JZDv3ZSkE-w/видео.html
No drugs. U have philly and lizzy.
Its just a tribute. Most of the audience won't have heard of this song or Thin Lizzy
Its not Phil, but who is beside Lynott? Ricky did a fine job!
Ditto, I saw them in 1978 when I was 13years old…. Blew my mind. It’s good to see Scott and Brian still rocking 😊
Scott Gorham looks like a hard rock Tom Petty in this one ;)
The music itself is fine, even good, but my god what a dusche... The early Thin Lizzy versions had such a cool vibe, and this guy is just posing so so hard.
What is this? Tribute band?
without Lynott and Moore it's not Lizzy! never
Vi hedrar...
Marco Mendoza.
I love Goro but this song is nothing without Phil and Robbo ☹

Good, but nobody quite like PL...

Holy fuck that ain't right wonder wot the boys think upstairs
Is that Micheal Mendoza on bass ?
Marco Mendoza.

Scott Gorham refused to record new material under the name Thin Lizzy. Hence the Black Star Riders.
not bad but not a patch
I'm sick of hearing this singer sounds like Phil. This guy sounds more like Jon bon Jovi than phil
This singer is way better than
Why do they call themselves thin lizzy? They're destroying the legacy, just like axl rose
The changed name in 2013 to Black Star Raiders
And, for what it's worth, I think is one of the last shows they did under the Thin Lizzy name
Seems fitting since Phil was indeed a black star and they are raiding his legacy to earn more money then they would playing originals.
Get a life
They sound great
WTF is this mess?!!!! That is NOT Thin Lizzy! Almost as bad as the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band calling themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd just because Rossington is still in the band.
RootsRockRebel feckin discusting.
If it was a new band and I heard this I may dig it but this is just smeg.
Don't you remember the original band pished and or stoned ?? Or is it because these guys are clean ??
Strong performance, but without Lynott and Moore it's not Lizzy!
Elliott Michaels you got that right
Without Moore? He was BRIEFLY in the band twice. They had a number of guitar players, Eric Bell, Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Midge Ure, Snowy White, and John Sykes. Weird how new gear brings out the generic in everyone.

Right on ... i have seen 8th grade school bands play a whole lot better than these punks..
つまんない
Disgusting
No Lynott No Lizzy. This is crap
