I own the 101 irons. I bought them after watching the review on this channel. They are beautiful & I can attest, the finish is very durable too! Their best characteristic is their remarkable consistency. There are NO jumpers… ever! A lot of Distance Irons have an annoying tendency to have these surprise flyers (where the ball goes 10-15 yards further than expected for no real reason), but my Takomo’s don’t. There are no surprises. I want my 7i to go 155yds, I know it will go 153-157, not « oops! » 173! Consistent flight & distance is what I want & what I got with my 101’ s. They are objectively the best irons (dollar for dollar) I have owned in 40yrs of golfing. Cheers!

@@6899siew I am an unofficial 10 handicap and use the 101's. I have never tried the 101T, so I can not speak to whether my shots would improve or not. I love the DTC idea for clubs especially if you get your numbers from a fitting. I bought the Haywood “Signature” irons a few months ago, custom lie, custom shaft, etc, and they are AMAZING! Takomo was #2 on my list because they didn’t have as many shaft options. These TM P790-style clubs play well!

I like this idea. Not everone wants forged clubs. I mean, forged clubs are great but there are people out there who wouldn't want to sacrifice money over feel that much.. And when you go into mid - scratch handicappers' irons, there are almost no options when choosing irons that aren't forged. I believe these clubs are all cast hallow body irons, but I am happy to see the affordable price with the smaller head profile and high loft (you don't see many 32 degree 7 irons that are cast). My understanding is that there isn't anything inside. 2) How is the sound? 3) I thought the Tour and Tour Lite were standard options for shafts Takomo doesn't show C-Taper Lite as an option? What shafts was Mikey swinging...Stiff, C-Taper Lites? 4) Can you do a comparison video between the 101's, 101T, and 201's?

All I see when I go to the range and sometimes help golfers are lie angles on their clubs that are almost never appropriate. When I show them my fitted lie-angles, and the flight it produces, and then hit their clubs, and they see the difference, they often can't believe it.

Great information. So it sounds to me with the direct to consumer irons can be bought and then visit a fitter to fine tune them. So what is an average cost to custom fit 7 clubs? So we are looking at initial cost of 84.00 per club plus cost per club for fitting are able to keep the per club cost below 90 or 95 US dollars. If so that would be amazing. Now PXG offers more options to customize. You can customize lie angle and loft. Along with playing length at no additional cost and right now the 0211 DC are an unbelievable price of 79.00 US Dollars. I would love to see the Takomo 101 and PXG 0211 DC against one another or the Takomo 201 against the PXG 0211 XCOR2 which are 129.00 US dollars per club. Love the channel.

Hard to say if I buy these as a high hancap player...length of the shaft is my issue. As for a 183cm (6ft) player with average length arms for thus height. Wish I could give them a go at my local Golf Shop here in Australia. Anyone commenting on here thats bought these clubs? Be great to read your comments.

Had no idea Takomo was Finnish! I always assumed them to be Japanese with the name.

Takomo is actually Finnish, means forging plant

@@takomogolfcompany Very very interested in the 101 or 101t . Would you recommend that I go and get a fitting which will give me the specs and then come back to you guys and you can tell me which lies & shafts to purchase?

@@stephencarlisle3743 I bought the 101’s and I love them. I padded the 48* Skyforger wedge fro fit my other wedges. Long story short, the Skyforger wedge is so good in feel and consistency that I am in the process of replacing all my wedges with Skyforger wedges.

I'm a mid-high handicapper, typically shooting mid 90s but my ball striking is improving a lot and is probably one of the best parts of my game. Can usually flush a 7i 160 yards.
Would it be a bad idea to look at a players iron like the 101T to future proof? I'm thinking of getting the set, then getting fit to adjust loft and lies, but don't want to wish I got the 101 instead.

Question of the day! I'm shooting low 90s and my G400s are looking a little dated in the bag.
