I have remember me from jovoy. It’s a lactonic tea scent. I really love it. I have dryad from papillon- so beautifully green. Bengale rouge too is really lovely. I stupidly sold tobacco rose and Anubis. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

So happy to hear you mention Linda landenberg. I own all 4 of her fragrances. And a fifth of hers she did for the jewelry brand Maria nilsdotter. Her DNA is distinct.

I just bought a bottle of Cacao Porcelana last week and I’m really enjoying it. It does share some similarities with the only other cacao fragrance in my collection, Les Heures de Cartier: L'Heure Defendue VII. Where Cacao Porcelana has a rum note, L'Heure Defendue VII has a deep fruity syrupy liquor note and on the whole is a stronger fragrance, with an earthy, mossy, petrichor aspect, that can come off a bit musty & dank if I wear it in the middle of winter in damp/rainy weather. Of the two, I like Cacao Porcelana better. It’s an easy wear, where as Defendue VII does have better longevity, it’s a gothic statement piece of a fragrance that I have to be in the mood to pull off, but love it’s uniqueness and beauty. Another recent acquisition I picked up is a bottle of Victoria from the Argentina house Frassaï. I first heard about Victoria from Cherie (of The Top Note)- it’s a floral (tuberose) woody, resinous musky scent that is probably the most complex fragrance I own. It’s not a typical tuberose in my opinion, so I’d be very curious if you ever try it, what you think of it.
I want to try the house of Mizensir as well. Although my next purchase is probably going to be Bo by Liis. My Iris period of late, has morphed into a woody mood, and Bo is woody perfume of cedar, sequoia & guaiac woods, with tobacco, Elemi resin, incense and vanilla.
Although, after hearing you have a bottle of Olfactive Studios’ Woody Mood to pick up, since that’s a house I’ve been wanting to try, I think I’ll start with a sample of the aptly named Woody Mood.

Interesting comments, thank you! Never tried Bo or anything from Liis. The notes sound similar to Woody Mood, they both have sequoia at least. Never tried anything from Frassaï yet either, but have heard of it on several other channels. Would love to try that Cartier fragrance you wrote about. Might go to the Cartier shop and ask for it this coming week!

Hi Kicki! I sending good vibes for getting the job. Summer is wrapping up and guess what I couldn't stop myself from ordering a few days ago? Chameleon! Haha! So funny you are tailing about it, I am wearing it today and my decant is now empty but a full bottle is on the way. I can smell no clove at all in that one. I do agree clove to be very strong and way too much if overdone in a fragrance. I am not too sure I can identify immortelle yet. Lily of the Valley can be too sharp and strong for me also, but I know it is in some vintage perfumes I love. I don't find Miss Dior vintage eau de cologne sharp, however I just got a tiny mini from my Mom that is a newer vintage version than what I have and it is very sharp. That bottle is the frosted glass rectangle with the hounds-tooth embossing in the glass. That version smells totally different to me than the one my Mom wore in the 60s and 70s. Miss Dior perfume has been massacred anyway since the multiple reformulations happened. I know you are talking about the one I sent you so it must have a sharp note I just am not bothered by. Did I hear you say you found a bottle of Woody Mood?? Fantastic perfume! Congrats on finding a good price. oxJulia

Fingers crossed that you get the best job!🤞. Santa’s Majuscule is fantastic. It took me about 2 minutes after the initial spray to know I was going to love it. It’s so rich and deep and the cocoa gives that powdery texture. Don’t you think ELDO is a house just having fun? I don’t think of it as a house trying to be cool or trendy, rather I see it as a house being experimental and hiring great perfumers to create those experiments. Papillon has some beauties…deep…exciting….beautiful. And I love Ormandy Jayne too. I wear Tolu a lot too. Personally, I love green fragrances…Synthetic Jungle was right up my alley. I wear it a lot…enjoy it a lot. I love that you have perfume meet ups. I want to do that in my city, Los Angeles, CA.

My favorite Jovoy is Fire At Will but it may not be your cup of tea. It's a beautiful vanilla and mimosa with amber vetiver and white musks. I have their discovery set and they are an interesting house to me too. Psychedelique is a hard pass for me but I know people love it. It's such a heavy patchouli and such a beast mode that I cannot do it. My son dislikes it intensely too but we both love Fire at Will.

Very interesting to hear your thoughts. I kinda warmed up to the vomit accord in Imortelle so I totally understand where you're coming from.
I did not clock the LOTV note in Ormonde Jayne's Tolu. Time to revisit. That scent is gorgeous.
I was exploring the house of Kilian recently and bought three that I really like. Was sampling their the rest of their line especially the darker masculine marketed Kilian offerings and I have the same thought as you! Most of what I've tried are nicely polished but lacks that something extra.

Fun video! going to look into the brand Laboratorio Olfattivo that you mentioned! I was curious if your passion for perfume has lead you to know how to tell if a brand uses high quality ingredients? I've tried to look into how to tell if a brand uses high quality ingredients be it natural or synthetic and youtubers and perfume enthusiast I've interacted with online usually just say "if it smells good or if its expensive they use high quality ingredients" but to me it doesn't always seem to be the case. If it interest you i'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic in a video and share how you identify if a perfume or brand uses high quality ingredients maybe some tips on that and any brands you feel like do use high quality ingredients. It would be help for me and I'm sure others to learn how to identify how to know if a perfume or brand is high quality to know if a perfume is worth the price or even better inexpensive brands that use high quality naturals and synthetics that would be incredible value for money.

I will explain this more in my next video, but in the case of Les Indemodables they smell really natural which I first experienced with their Escale en Indonésie. That ambergris is amazing! That got me into a lot of comparisons and am getting the feel for what more natural perfumery smells like. I respect Les Indemodables because they state the exact amounts of the real materials that they use. I am no expert, though. Just sharing my experiences as I go on this fragrance journey. I don’t have enough knowledge about ingredient quality that I could rank different houses. But Les Indemodables, Papillon, Hiram Green and Atelier Materi I believe has really good stuff in their products.

Cloves you say? I stud my Xmas ham with it (relatives complain 😂). I also make a mouthwash from steeped cloves and essential oils. Love PMC Nosy Be, I've just got the extrait travel set. I also have the Cacao Azteque extrait and Tubereuse Absolue Extrait. The Tubereuse has gardenia in, a note that's often really difficult for me. Absolutely no problems with gardenia in the PMC. It's very similar to FM Carnal Flower with added gardenia, the PMC last longer on me. I find the same, that lilly of the valley can be really sharp and off putting.

After your review I had to revisit Santal Majuscule -- which I love -- to see what you're referring to ... and funnily I never noticed it. I assumed any sharpness was the Sandalwood. But it does smell a little like the hay opening in Chergui, maybe. Maybe a tad metallic? I find most from Serge are better after I let them meld with my skin a little.
Curious of your thoughts on any from Parfum d'Empire, if you've tried this house. I'm excited to visit a perfume shop on a trip later this fall and give more attention to Papillon and try out MDCI. I'll have to look up your review of Chypre Palatin.
All the best to you and your job hunt!😊

I have tried a few fragrances from Parfum D'Empire in store, but didn't get blown away by them. I was in a store with so much to choose from that I didn't give priority to that house that time. Do you have any specific fragrances to recommend?

@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 They're not huge projectors so I found I enjoyed them more when I got a sample home. They're just such lovely quality. I mentioned them because of the immortelle note. I have Eau de Gloire and Immortelle Corse (very much all-in on the immortelle. lol)
Most of this house seems subtle to me but the more I wear them and get to know them, I find there's a lot more going on. They often feel quite herbal. I was curious mostly if you'd tried their Amber Russe and how it rated on your amber love scale. 😄
I need to try more of theirs. I really like Mal-Aime, but again, a bit more subtle -- like compost and grassy wild-flower fields on a hot summer day. lol (it actually smells a LOT like chrysanthemum tea to me) ... I need to give Tabac Tabou another try -- I dismissed it because I was smelling a lot that day. Think it might be something my nose could learn from. Funnily, I found the dry down in Corsica Furiosa really reminded me of the dry down of SL de Profundis (I have a decant of the newest Gratte-Ciel version)
Most of the Parfum d' Empire are so natural to my nose they tend to spark some sort of scent memory, prob why I've enjoyed them. Can't wait to hear more on your thoughts of MDCI and Papillon -- I've only tried Spell 125 and Salome.

Psychedelique is the best Patchouly for me, however the rest of Jovvoy fragrances die not convince me so far. Psychedelique is quite strong and long lasting and green, sweet and has a nice choclade note in drydown.
