It’s a little subtle also but my current favourite !
Frustrating as it is with your current situation, I’m sure you know that things will always work out in the end, whatever you missed just wasn’t meant to be and what you gain will be the best outcome. Keep positive despite the disappointments, those vibes will repay. I have that ELDO box too. I remember when ELDO started with the pseudo-edgy and 'shocking' vulgar names and actually ignored them for a good while because of it, but others (like TF) picked up on it as well. It seems to have been part of a broader trend and would be interesting to analyze but not here and now, lol. I also used to ignore celebrity scents (and in effect, still do), unless they are genuine collaborations and the fragrance is not named for the celeb. I mention this, because among my few ELDO favorites is Like This which was a collab with Tilda Swinton - a heartbreakingly gorgeous, truly original scent with pumpkin, ginger, immortelle and orange blossom (not mentioned in the official listing) on a base of musk, that evokes childhood and autumn to me. I recently got a back-up bottle and am not sure whether it has been reformulated or it is the batch, or it just needs to macerate a bit; it seems to lack its punch. My other favorite is The Afternoon of a Faun - a complex rose chypre with a hefty dose of dark immortelle and laced with myrrh and incense. Feels like an authentic chypre in the vein of Mitsouko and is wildly different from another more recent authentic-feeling chypre, Panthère, which is more along the lines of Ungaro's Diva . I also like Eau de Protection (collab with Rossi di Palma), Jasmin and Cigarettes and Rien. ETA: I do hope things turn for the better for you. Also, thanks for mentioning Hiram Green, may have to look into them.
Interesting! Yes, I think it was a trend. That sexy marketing can still be found here and there. Initios Absolute Aphrodisiac is one that comes to mind. A Swedish brand called MaLo has one called Role Play. And the Koraean house Born to stand out has a bunch of sexual words in the names of their perfumes, like Fig Porn, Not Vanilla, Sex & Cognac etc. I have tried Like This a few years ago but I think I found it too conceptual at the time. Need to revisit. The problem is that no store in Stockholm has Eldo.
Can you imagine you’re a bride & on your wedding day everyone is telling you you smell beautiful & asking “what are you wearing?” Answering: “Don’t get me wrong baby, I don’t swallow”😂😂That is so *out there* it turns me off from the whole brand.
I understand how you must feel, with so many things going on, and not being in a place of certainty. Everything will fall into place, when the situation is right, just be patient. I remember, when my late husband passed, and having to sell the house, and start a new career, it seemed that it was such an uphill battle. I sort of backed off of things a bit, just from pure frustration, and things started improving, and turning for the better. I’ve not tried EtatLibre D’Orange, but I’ve wanted to try a discovery set. The names are interesting!!! Dior Addict, is one I’m thinking of buying, as I’m very late to the party on it. 💜🙏🥰

If you would like to try more natural perfumes, I would recommend Teone Reinthal (TRNP). She is based in Australia so it’s harder (and more expensive) to purchase, but I know there are distributors in Europe.
Thank you! There is a shop in Sweden that sells TRNP. I was there a few years ago, but wasn't quite ready for those fragrances then. Aren't they Japanese? I thought so. Or am I mixing them up with Di Ser? Yes I am. I have mentally grouped this two houses together and I think there are some similarites. The shop is in the town in Sweden where my oldest son now lives. Also have a sister there, so will be sure to visit the shop next time I visit.
Should try some of the ELDO Extraordinaire line, they are much richer and better: I have full bottles, and my standout ones are 1. Experimentum Crucis 2. Spice must flow 3. Soul of my Soul

I did like Jasmin et Cigarettes and a few others were nice, but as you say, none were full bottle for me either, and some, including Like This, were just unwearable for me. I didn't have Secretions Magnifiques in my box set and really have no desire to smell it, lol! I had Hiram Green "Slow Dive" on my list to try for a few years but always forget to buy a sample as I get so distracted by this or that perfume. oxJulia
You might want to check out Teone Reinthal perfumes ( TRNP ) - all natural perfumes that tend to be real throwbacks in terms of vintage diva feel, however her catalogue is quite diverse overall. Hang in there w the life stuff - sounds like a really stressful time 😢
They’re Australian, they all smell of a Balinese store to me, wasn’t a fan. Somehow unfinished and home made and …far from refined, certainly not on par with Hiram Green’s take on natural perfumery.
