It must've been hard as hell to make music for 8-bit systems. 8:30, best music to any game ever. I'm 31, that song has been in my head since I was about 7. It also reminds me of not being able to make some nearly impossible jump and trying about 900 times while this music is playing.
As a child playing playing as Kuros and battling through the evil forces of Malkil and seeing Kuros fight with unwavering courage and determination sparked a fire in me to face my own challenges head-on. His relentless pursuit of justice and bravery against overwhelming odds taught me that true strength comes from perseverance and heart. Whenever life throws obstacles my way, I channel my inner Kuros, knowing that no adversary is too great to conquer.
This is my first time hearing any of this since the late 80's or so. I'm overwhelmed, so good. Also I can't help but remember that this was one of the few games which was actually fair, where the developer wanted everyone to enjoy it. Too many games (on consoles certainly) at the time made it extremely difficult and as a kid I was convinced that was how games were supposed to be. Then this, and other games came along which were more about enjoying it and having a fun experience.
This is still the only game where I actually liked coming close to dying. . .just to hear the "near death music"! That might be the coolest track in the whole game series imo.

I remember always picking up and keeping the Cloak of Darkness. Not because it does anything (does it do anything?) but so I could listen to the awesome potion music whenever I wanted.

The very end of the title screen/ending theme sounds like it’s from a classical song. Like Bach or someone. It’s a motif I’ve heard in classical music before. Does anyone know what this is? Or am I just crazy?
This reminds me of that time Simba saw the long long road laid out before him and okay so he was like no. "No, hell no that aint right. I gotta rock in and do a roar with my friends dancing hula from the gay magic inside them" and he knew he had a job to do.
I wouldn't want to be out of armor either if I was fighting through hoards of enemies. I think it's neat though. Kind of adds more mystery to the character.

I always loved the title music as a kid. It always sounded so EPIC! This game has a surprisingly good soundtrack for its age.

I never owned this game, but I remember playing a few times as a kid. The Forest track reminded me of the Pink Panther theme.

The cover art for the game is fucking awesome, shame you never see Kuros outside of actual armor.
