This is my acoustic guitar cover of the classic Nintendo game Wizards & Warriors, composed by David Wise. Arranged by Oroz 5
/ @oroz5
It's been a while since I've posted any video game cover videos. I've been busy working on other art mediums these last couple years.
I'm surprised I haven't seen any acoustic guitar versions on youtube thus far.
Excuse the sloppyness....enjoy :)
Don't forget to check out my other videos and follow my channel!
Wow! I felt like a kid again.... in my room at my Moms' house.....playing all night. This is VERY nostalgic. Music....especially (for me) 8-bit Nintendo music never really leaves ur heart & mind. It's like a smell....u never forget. It brings back a load of emotions. Nothing but good ones at that. Ahhh simpler times. Remember when u would lower, the volume so ur Mom wouldn't hear u playing & disconnect it? This music hits ur soul in a very special way. Thanks' for the flashback Brotha'. \m/
Oscar Gamboa Awesome. That's how I feel about these old school NES themes as well. Thanks for ur comment.
Agree 100%. Very nostalgic, brings back so many memories. Where did the time go?
I still play it for that reason... my house was next to an ally that was over grown and looked Erie at night much like the first level... at sun set you could see the rats running in it ... I miss the days
Beautiful. This takes me back to the mid 80s. I played that intro over and over.
Awesome. That's why I learned it for the guitar. for the same reason :)
It should take you back further, this tune was composed by Vivaldi! Listen to: ruclips.net/video/O6NRLYUThrY/видео.html 1hr 01 min 35 seconds in. :)
Can't imagine the practice behind this. Amazing.
I've practiced this for several months off and on. Could of used a few more practices though. Thank you :)
I sent this directly to David Wise (the creator of W&W sound track). :)
Awesome man :) Such beautiful music...
Grew up on all 3 of the Wizard & Warriors games, loving this! salute
Thanks man...
my favorite game series ever!! I so wish I could get a team together and make a 4th installment!
Love the first one. Second one was disappointing. I saw what they were trying to do but some of the magic was lost.
The third one was so weird I couldn't even get into it. Should I give it another chance? It's hard to beat the straight forward action and pure insanity of the first game.
@@mfb5642 the first one was bomb!!! awesome fucking game!!!
I really only like the first one
The next two in the series just couldn't capture the look and feel of the orginal.
I must admit all 3 had good music.
It's so beautiful, and none of those artists got the credit they deserved. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I really appreciate it. These songs were my childhood and I try to do my best.
@@fr3rdsky this was part of my childhood as well. It makes me sad, cuase I can remember sitting in Grandpa's house playing this game on the tv in the den, my mom and dad and grandma and grandpa, was there. they are all dead now. And this puts right back there . Really do appreciate you sir. Made me feel something I never suspected I'd feel again. I have watched at least 10 times now.
@@gerbilkill I'm glad I was able to help bring a good memory. This music does the same for me. Thank you for your comment.
this was one of the first songs i learned on guitar. from tab
like in 98'
when minibosses were really popular
BIG BOSS Cool. Yeah I remember The Minibosses. One of the first NES cover bands I found on youtube.
not even sure how i found them as a kid
since there was no youtube in 98'
fuck. hmmmmmmmm. i dont know where i was hanging out then!
but yeah their contra and castlevania shit was the first
BIG BOSS Wait, You’re right. I had some of their mp3’s way before youtube. Don’t remember where. Napster perhaps. I remeber the Kid IcarusTheme they played.
Ha yes, that was way before RUclips. I read about them in EGM and then downloaded on Napster. Ahh 2000!
Napster, mp3.com, IRC channels, message boards...there were plenty of ways to find things back then.
One of the best things ever!!! Thanks for this!!🙌🏼
MadDogHoek23 Glad you like this nostalgic music like I do. 😎
Genius! Ive got all these tunes well ingrained in my permanent memory and this rendition is just friggin awesome.
+Nandemo Guy Thanks. Yup, These tunes represent my childhood. So many of these NES games had awesome music.
This was one of my favorite NES games growing up.... spent hours upon hours playing this game! Great music piece!
Awesome. This is definitely one of the best NES games because of the gameplay and music. Thanks for your comment.
Absolute masterpiece of a performance.
Thank you. Glad you enjoy this type of music.
Without a doubt! So fantastic!
dude you have a superpower.
with your guitar in hand you can immediately out any nerd in any room by playing this and watching their eyes for a response.
Thanks man. Haven't played it for a while. I would need to brush up on it to play it like the video. Thanks for your comment.
I love the acoustic version the best
Heather Cantway Cool :)
Indeed. On this one the acoustic is so much more magical and misterious. Also this version is the best to be found in the endless voids of the abyssal www.
Yes this maybe is the greatest 8 bit videogame music that was ever composed.
Really rad. Awesome performed
BEAST!!!! This is so good.
datalaforge Aw man. Thanks.
The forest theme was so lit!
I HAVE that as my ringtone
that bassline lol
@@Utubesuxmycock haha. Nice man. I’ve got Within These Castle Walls from Castlevania 2 as mine.
All in one take, absolutely S tier bro. Amazing
Thanks. There are some screw ups in there but if you don’t notice them then that’s great 👍🏾
Best NES music ever made!!!
I love old school NES music. Especially from games like this one. It's what movitated me to practice them and put them on you tube. Thanks.
Every summer I spent holidays 100 miles away from my hometown with grandmothers. And some year (don't remember which one) i spent every morning/day with my cousin, ride bike to his place at morning (about 10 km) to play with him in NES (we never had official release in Belarus, the console was named Dandy) - we played a lot of games and Wizards & Warriors was one of them... I think that was only time time I ever played in my life this game, but the song and gameplay stuck in my head till now... Thanks fr3rdsky!
Cool story. The music gives me nostalgia. That is why i try to learn some of these old video game songs. Thank you for your comment.
@@fr3rdsky yes. Actually your videos put me into spot to learn my favorite nes songs on guitar as well. I've used your tabs - they are awesome! There is one song, which is one that can easily bring me back, that I hardly can find any meaningful tabs - Castlevania the silence of daylight, if you ever made any cover on it, please let me know)
@@DangeRsEDang Yes we did. You can find that song in the NESGameTabs. com website. In the guitar tabs section under "Castlevania 2 - The Silence of Daylight - By Oroz5".
Yeah you totally rock dude
Now it's been a while I follow your work, and your website, everything began with this song... Actually I can play a lot of your tabs ( zelda, gauntlet, castlevania, ninja garden,..) because of YOU ! So I really want to thanks you and give me all my gratitude.
+Leeroy Kat I appreciate it man. Cool :)
Freakin incredible. takes me back to my childhood! 😢
the counterpoint is challenging but you nailed it!
You sir are awesome.
Thanks. It took a lot of practice :)
The title theme is incredibly beautiful! Well done sir :) Also thanks for making these videos, this type of music will live on in us and, really deserves to give inspiration to new music like it!
+Stab Backer Thanks..I'm glad I'm not the only one who still enjoys this type of music and is influenced by it :)
A M A Z I N G
thank you.
You threw me back to the beginning of the 90's...
This is ridiculously good.
Thanks man. I spent a lot of time practicing it. Probably could of used a few more practices but glad you like it :)
This is the first video that i've ever seen that doesn't have dislikes, and it's totally normal, it's just perfect
I just noticed that. wow. Thanks for noticing. I'll take a snapshot of it before I get a dislike :)
3 folks are overruled by the nerds 🤓😏
Man. I feel like a kid again. Awesome.
Thanks. That’s why I made this video. Childhood memories.
Beautiful!
+Isac Saleh Thanks man.
Anyone who disliked this video has problems. Awesome job dude. Nostalgia big time.
For a long time there were no dislikes. I was kinda relieved when I got my first thumbs down. Thanks for your comment.
@@fr3rdsky epic man. I am 42 years old. I remember playing this for hours on end when it came out as a kid. Actually after I watched your video I busted out my modded nes mini and played for a few hours. I let the intro play for 10 minutes or so before I started. Awesome video
@@djm2373 Sadly I don’t have my NES console anymore. Lots of great memories playing even when I had to blow hot air into the cartridges to try to get them to work. Haha.
Awesome everything, love low health 🔥
Thanks. Glad you still remember the music to this game.
@@fr3rdsky Mos definitely, great job
I'm still trying to play this game. It's so damn hard 😅 I love these songs. You nailed them. Awesome.
Yeah man. I loved playing this game as a kid. The music is just nostalgia for me. Thanks for the comment.
whst is this wizardry that captivates the soul?
Thanks man:)
This tune was composed by Vivaldi! Listen to: ruclips.net/video/O6NRLYUThrY/видео.html 1hr 01 min 35 seconds in. :)
@@JimEadon A class without a doubt.
most appropriate cover of the year. Wizards and warriors on Nylon Guitar.
Haha thanks. Classical influenced music does go good with the acoustic guitar, sometimes :)
I absolutely love this video. That intro is so beautiful.
That damn low health meter theme 😂
This is fantastic 🔥
Yeah. I couldn't leave that one out.
@@fr3rdsky It's a must 🔥
If you want to hear a version of this song that will make you cry and completely changes the nature of it, play it back at .5 speed.
I stumbled across this as a young lad when I had an old cassette tape recorder/stereo combo unit and I found out that if I held down the play button about half way it would speed up the wheels when recording and when I played it back it would be in "slow mo" or slow motion. That tape deck is no longer part of this world as it burnt out ages ago and I thought I lost my lovely tunes I found this way. But with the power of RUclips I have found the right playback speed that gives almost the same experience.
So yeah, replay the intro part at .5 speed, then go find a version of the intro for Mega Man II and do the same thing. Hard Rock Mega Man!!!
Thanks. I will listen to it in that speed. I’m very will aware of those casstte days. I remember trying to fix some of my cassettes by trying to tape the ripped string with scotch tape. Sometimes I would lose a few seconds of a song because I cut off the stretched out part of the string :)
@@fr3rdsky I could imagine this slowed down version playing over the credits of a very sad drama movie or something. Let me know how you like it.
Thank you so much for this! I've watched it fives times in two weeks ❤
Nice. Thanks. I take it you also grew up playing this game as kid?
@@fr3rdsky oh absolutely, one of my faves on NES! I always enjoyed the music also..all of it lol
@@davemilk8520 Definitely one of the best games of the late 80's
That was beautiful
Thank you. Glad you remember this old school game and music.
Soothing 2the Soul love it
@@ToddGoldfinger thank you. Glad you like it 🤙🏽
Thanks much, man. One of my favorites from NES.
Awesome. Thanks for your comment.
fr3rdsky There are a few chords in your opening that immediately remind me of Mason Williams. The picking detail , while not Mr. Williams's, does speak of your ability and willingness to pursue classical variations. Cheer(io)s, my friend, and thank you for your art.
That's cool man. Mason is a legend. I guess I was trying to put the bass in the melody parts together but I wasn't able to get all the bass lines in. Classical/Fingerstyle guitar is great because you become like your own one man band :)
fr3rdsky Indeed, my friend, indeed. Instrumentals can convey and speak more openly than lyrics. They may evoke treasures of memories. I finally found a video from Mr. Joplin's "The Entertainer" that I recall as a kid. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and wish you well in the New Year.
f ing savage. i always loved this music more than the game. i good game even still. thank you for this
Your welcome and thanks for the comment. I loved the classical style W&W music as well :)
Best soundtrack ever. Nice adaptation.
Thank you. That soundtrack was awesome. I had to learn it in guitar.
I recently began to play the first copy of the game and I really appreciate your enthusiasm for the games awesome music
Thanks. It's part of my childhood. And the music was also pretty good.
This is Wonderful.
Thank You so much.
I’m glad you like it. And thanks for your comment.
Amazing, thank you!
Genius 👏 lovely composed
Thank you. I’m glad there are still people who remember this old school game music.
Omg the intro combined with your style of playing is perfection
I don't know about perfection but thank you very much :)
Love this
Just played the game, listening to your music! Just great
Cool. Haven't played the game in a long time.
Aaaaah, thank you so much for covering the tree song!
Thanks for added tabs! Really cool!
Your welcome and thanks for the comment.
this is spectacular
Could of practiced it a little more for the recording but thanks :)
One of the greatest games forget by time
Yes, I agree. And the music is great that's why I did this medley.
Very nice
@@shawnd223333 thank you.
Nailed it!
I probably could’ve used a few more practices before recording it but thanks. I appreciate it.
INSANT SUB! I am a sucker for retro gaming classic cover songs, particularly for the NES! So damn good! Thanks you for this!
Thanks man. Those old NES themes hold a special place that's why I learned how to play them on acoustic guitar.
@@fr3rdsky I’m so into them you would think I’d do the same thing. Cheers to you brother!
Best game soundtrack ever! Expertly played fr3rdsky, thank you!
Thsnks. Glad you like it. Yes the game had an awesome soundtrack.
beautifullly played! absolutely loved the intro!
It's been a long time man! Welcome back

@@fr3rdsky same!!
This is really amazing, very skillful playing
Thank you. It really comes down to practicing a lot. First learning the song, then combining all the parts and playing it until you feel ready to record it.
@@fr3rdsky coming up with all those chord voicings is impressive
I was a die hard nintendo Gamer when I was a child my cousin she 1st showed me this game and from there on it was history Really awesome music to this 1 and the 2nd one I like too and i also love the music to Mega man 6 Zelda 2! I know it doesn't mean much to no body however I am Gald I was brought up in this era Some of the best games in the whole entire world. O and by the way awesome job man with the Guitar solos to the song brilliant as soon as you start playing at 2nd level song in the cave man brought back a Crap ton of memories!!

Needs a random clock noise halfway through when you pick up the bonus to stop time and the bat cave music. Do do doo dooo dooooooo
That would've been cool. There was a couple of themes I wanted to also do but it would've become a bigger task to complete. Thanks for your comment.

So sick
Thanks man.
Dude, I'll say it again, you are the shit. Absolutely phenomenal job. I put this on and just listen to it sometimes.
I tried my best to capture the music like the game in one guitar. Glad you liked it :)
The nostalgia if eating teenage mutant ninja turtles cereal and beating this game is still fresh in my mind...I miss that cereal and I still love this game and the soundtrack, great job
Thank you. I'm glad you were able to recollect cool moments from the past. It makes learning and playing these songs all worth it.

Hey I love this!!! I’m not good a reading tab. Can you do an instructional video of this medley? Or maybe just a slower version where I can see how you play it? Soooo good!!!
I was thinking about making tutorials for some time now. I just haven't had time since I've been working on other projects not related to guitar. I appreciate the comment. If I do make one I will let you know.
@@fr3rdsky Awesome thanks for replying!! I was so excited to see this! Can I ask you one favor if you don’t have time for a tutorial? Would you be able to play the whole medley through slowly so I can see all of your picking/frets etc? Then I can just pause and rewind 😁🙏😊🙏
@@Thundercracker67 I wish I could but the truth is I haven't played it in years. I recorded this in 2015, and I would have to learn it all over again which would require time. Sorry about that.
