Great Video….not roasting you for the sheet….I had said that I would do the exactly same thing and you shortly advised the same. My fabric will be expensive so I will definitely create patterns with old sheets!! Great idea. Excellent finished product.
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing working on a project. I need more time. This will definitely help me love the blank sheets of papers 😅. The next step is threatening the machine 😮 it's been a while.
Im very beginner to sewing so not sure how to word this, but is there any way to make a pattern(clone) a dress that had multiple seams without taking it apart? Like the bust is a separate part, the shoulders are as well.. all sewn together or does this really only work for the simpler garments? I would like to clone a dress without taking it apart but not sure how
GIRL YOU THINK EXACTLY LIKE ME! I WAS THINKING OF DOING THE SAME THING WHEN I GET A SEWING MACHINE! Like Get an Actual Dress you Already own to create a design of a Dress 👗 you want to create Beautifully in a different Color I had the Exact Thoughts Myself! It's easy doing it That Way

I’m a newbie too but my take on tracing on the paper, makes it easier to make multiple items vs. just the one item. For example if you wanted to make the same dress on multiple fabric types, you could use the pattern on the paper over and over.
Cheap wrapping paper works well for making patterns because of how long it is. A lot of them even have a grid on the un-printed side
Old newspaper, too. Just use pen or marker to trace the pencil markings so you can se it better.
I would have never thought of this. Brilliant, THANK YOU
I love that you used multiple papers for your pattern 😅 I did this thinking I was being silly but hey it works!

Taping paper is so clever. While there are other options for large paper, this is cool is you don't have it. Good job!
I found a large roll of craft paper for drafting patterns at the hardware store for $6 !! Thank you for this tutorial I can’t wait to try it
this is so calming 💕
Haha thanks ☺️
Thank you I've watched several videos and your video seems the simplest to understand.

If it’s a stretchable cloth how can we use it cloning?
Wouldn’t it be easier to trace directly on the fabric and outline with chalk?
Newbie here. What is the benefit to tracing it out on paper first?
