    Thank you all for the no fluff content. You all are a dying breed. No filler portions just to stretch the length of the video, no unnecessary repetition to squeeze in an extra few minutes into the video, no unrelated & obnoxiously long intros. You all simply provide the content that the title and thumbnail describes. What we see (and what we came for) is what we get-and damn it, it’s a beautiful thing. Kudos to everyone at BTOD.

    I wish BTOD would make videos where they give us an overview of the actual quality of materials used in these chairs. What sort of plastic-grades? Types of metal? What differs in manufacturing of a Steelcase than a Haworth? What sorts of quality control measures make each company stand out? These are the Tour De Force of chairs out there, would be neat to give some insight on what truly makes them "good quality".

    After a few years of scouring the market, I pulled the trigger on a HM Embody late last year, and I have zero regrets. It's great for posture and support, but the recline system, flexibility, and the fact that there are no hard edges anywhere on the seat or backrest also make it a great chair for when I want to throw posture out the window and be a slouchy half-cross-legged gremlin. I'm also pretty short at 5'6", and I was easily able to set it up to be super comfortable for me, which was a major concern while I was shopping. They can be found for ~$1400 during sale seasons.

    A note on the Ticova: I bought one of these in late 2020. I spend a lot of time at my desk as I work from home. I'm 6'3" and have found it to be rather comfortable, but I never could get the headrest to be comfortable for me. It always pushed my head a little bit forward and caused neck pain. I have a size 8 head, so that's a lot of weight lol. Because of this, I usually had the head rest removed and only used it if I was reclining and watching something. ALSO-- as of about a month ago, so right at 3 years of use, the arm rests started rapidly cracking and deteriorating, hence why I'm here, to find something better.

    Been sitting in my Ticova for the past week and I agree with BTOD, it's a really sturdy comfortable chair. At first I was skeptical because it's amongst dozens of other same-looking Chinese made chairs. But it's honestly a surprisingly comfy chair, it just feels really supportive. It took a couple days to really understand it before the comfort settled in from its very pronounced lumbar support. I got it on sale on Amazon for $140 after taxes.

      It's not bad for the money and certainly an improvement over most ultra budget chairs but it's definitely a fit or not type of chair.
      I am 5'10" and 190 lbs and could never get the lumbar to hit comfortably and the seat was just too firm and shallow so it became uncomfortable for me after a few hours. The base also did not allow it to roll smoothly on hardwood so that's another thing that was a deal breaker for me.
      I ordered two different ones to see if it was just a one off issue but the second one I got had an even worse fit for the lumbar that was too high up and aggressive so that tells me the build consistency isn't great on these either.
      Just a PSA for those with a similar build to me and are considering this chair.

It's a good chair on the whole but probably more comfortable for smaller people.

    Oh man, I can't tell you how HAPPY I am to find this video review. I thought I had to drop 1300+ for a Haworth, but now can't wait to give the Vera a try.
    I'm 6-3 in need of a slightly higher seat than normal, plus solid lumbar. Any further ideas welcomed!
    Also what does 'S tier' and 'A tier' mean exactly?

    The embody is super comfortable... UNLESS you cross your legs (or just one leg) on your chair. The front corners are hard and unpadded and they hurt your legs. Fine for an office. Not good for a gaming setup.

    Prices even used are so high for disabled seniors. My main chair/bed is a beast chair. Unfortunately my office/gaming chair is a $50 wal mart zero gravity patio chair. I like to game. Would kill for any used quality chair with my disabilities are way more than a bad back. If anyone wants to gift a crippled old man I'm not picky

Take any chair you guys can donate… obviously Steelcase preferred but I’ll take Anything Fred Kapp Los Alamos Ca My handicap requires lots of sitting and semi lay down can’t straighten legs to lay completely flat.Can only stand and walk about 5 minutes with a chair that can recline can only sit shorter periods. Guys do a mitzvah these holidays you’ll feel good and so will I thx for your time

    • @btodtv
      @btodtv  10 месяцев назад +1

      Because all the best chairs don't have headrests and I would rather use a top tier chair with no headrest than a decent chair with a headrest. And truthfully, we don't need headrests on chairs, unless it's something like a lazyboy where you are just sitting watching something half asleep. -Ryan
