I was lucky enough to meet one of the Ninja Turtles himself, Rob Paulsen in person today! I got him to ask “Would you like a croissant pizza?” in his Carl Wheezer voice, that and I asked him about his opinion about the cast of Mutant Mayhem, he liked it, and his son was thrilled to see the movie. I also got to meet Maurice LaMarche, he was fun to meet too.
They way i understand the definition of anime is it the animation form of material that originates in Japan and since the turtles were not created in japan by Japanese creators they dont qualify as anime
You should really make a video on the German version of the show. Because the shenanigans pulled there are something else. Germany still used the censored titel of Hero Turtles with all the cut scenes because we got the british version as a base for ours. But other than that the dialoge writer didn't give a damn and had a field day. He added several details like Raphaels catchphrase "I feel sick" whenever he disliked something, Donatellos speech bumbling through sentances. "So when, so we, so you ..." and also nicknames. Like Rocksteady calling Beebop Pigcheeks. And last but not least: The swearing. Dear god the swearing. From Bullshit to the actual F-bomb. I'll never forget the Neutrinos going "Let's cruise down the fuckin Milkyway!" I think that show taught me to use foul language and i will forever be grateful lol It really is a treasure. So i think in Germany season 8 was very well the reason it went down. They changed studios for the final season. New dub with new voice actors and also very tame.
Even though I'm a grown ass man working for a living paying off bills and whatnot, I still can't shake off my love for TMNT. (yes I'm showing my age a bit). I grew up as a lil boy watching the first cartoon show. I even drew myself on pieces of paper as the fifth turtle lol. But, the 2003 version did a better job and from what little I've seen, the 2012 version did a bit better again. Only recently am I here because I caught wind of the 4th iteration of the franchise and it looks f***ing awful, Raphael is the leader? I guess for the younger people it doesn't matter. For me, the franchise died with the 2012 series and the michael bay movies (which made a good effort in all fairness).
The "Rise" show has two types of episodes. If you figure out which ones to watch, you could find yourself LOVING that show. There is a lot of mythology around the Hamato clan that makes the finale super climatic. And then they did the movie, which also has a very powerful plot that addresses your concern about Leonardo. The design issue is something that happens with the turtles with every iteration. I didn't like the 2012 design at first, but then I got used to them. The same with Rise. I never got used to the Michael Bay ones, though. Probably because they were just too invulnerable.
This was the Turtles I grew up with but isn't my favorite Ninja Turtles these days. It does have the best intro theme (seasons 1 to 7) though. Either the 2003 or 2012 is my favorite Turtles series.

The eighth season is mostly Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady. You could call it a clan if you want, but to me, the Foot clan involves the soldiers.

I don't understand why the animation was changed after the first five pilot episodes. It was splendid.
