Ironic that this character never showed up again after he decided to stay in the year 2015, until he was brought back as an Easter egg in the 2012 series.
@@melancholy7526 I think it was season 4 requiem. They were watching that stupid chris Bradford cartoon. Carter's mutant form had a cameo as an Easter egg.
I do think that Carter is a character that's worth giving another shot again, if Venus can get another chance in the IDW comics. I think there's room for Carter too & to truly flush him out better as another supporting human character to the turtles other than April and Casey~
In Season 10 (1996): Carter get taken away to the future to get his mutation cured (Turtles to the Second Power). We never see or hear from him again, so whether or not the cure was successful: we'll never know.
I have mixed feelings on Carter. His addition did help to revive my interest in the series. However, it also felt like an intrusion as well since the series already had lots of potential characters who could aid the turtles. When season 9 originally came out, it was a mixed bag. If you missed one of the serialized episodes, then you knew you were missing something and that was a major problem back in the 90s.It made me want to tune in each Saturday to find out what was going to happen. I didn't get a chance to see season 10 until a couple of years back. As an adult, I can appreciate the red sky seasons since they seem more maturely written. It's hard to watch season 3 in comparison. I got away from TMNT after The Secret of the Ooze and only saw an episode of season 4 and after here and there until season 9.
Network meddling (CBS) was also responsible for Shredder and Krang being Put on a Bus and replaced by Dregg during the ninth season. They also forced the show's creators to introduce a "hip" new character, eventually resulting in Carter (who was pretty much an African-American Expy of Keno from the second TMNT movie). After these changes weren't liked by the fans, rather than admit they might have been slightly misguided in these demands: “the executives fired head writer David Wise* & replaced him with Jeffrey Scott (who had never even watched the series before): *speeding TMNT '87 to its demise.*
I felt that Carter was never forgotten, just ignored. They shoulda have included Carter and his transportation in the new TMNT Shedder Revenge Game. I would have accepted him more than April.
You think he would have fitted in the IDW comics because he could be useful in the Armageddon game which has begun and I thought he was inspired by Keno from Secret of the Ooze.
I heard this before and I don't see it (being inspired by Keno). Keno was created before the movie was written, specifically for Ernie Reyes Jr., to me that is a similarity (in that it was an imposition). But I feel like both Keno and Carter are based on an archetype. Also, while Keno didn't have enough time to get developed in the movie, he wasn't a Jack of all trades like Carter. What I think probably happened, was that the writers took some things from Keno (there are specific moments when the same things happen to Carter). But other than those few moments, he is just a sidekick to the turtles. As for IDW comics, I am sure he will show up in some form there eventually.
@@srstriker6420 I am not sure right now, but every now and then you see heroes with very capable sidekicks with their own motivations and conflicts. So to me, it's more like both Keno and Carter follow that same formula.
I'm surprised that there was no mention on Carter's superficial resemblance to the foreground character on the front cover of TMNT comic book issue #3.
Even though he doesn’t have much appearances, but in the original, Carter seems to be like a better version of Casey Jones . I wish someday he and Casey are the same person.
For characters like Carter and Cody Jones they are better thought of as disposable characters since they never appeared in any adaption (especially since it is during less than memorable seasons) and are not significant enough to be brought back.
@@disneyknightspadilla1406 if we're talking about the 2003 Casey. Then I think the only thing the two had in common was being honorary members of the turtles. Which 80s Casey doesn't feel like.
I always liked Carter. He was cool, smart, but also hip and full of himself but learned. He's basically to 80s Donetello, what 2003 Casey is to 2003's Raphael. But unfortunately he spawned and died on this show.

Is there a specific episode ?

he was a replacement for Casey they screwed up with their portrayal of Casey

I think Red Sky seasons needs a more love than 87 sacrilege seasons.
By sacrilege seasons, you mean seasons 4-7, right?
I hope NECA will make a Figure of him also like they did with Zach.

I forgot this character even existed
Good thing that you have Lord Dregg on your list
He is more than just in the list, he is coming up in a couple of weeks. 🙃
@@TheTurtleNexus good to hear

You know, in the Batman TMNT adventures comics issue 6, there's a African American boy who's dressed like Carter in the crowd of people.
….. I gotta check it out.

When these seasons came out, my older brother compared this character to RC3 from the last season of Knight Rider.

It would be out of place for this channel to make videos about coincidences (unless there is something ironic about it).

Part of me does hope they eventually revisit Carter in a future TMNT adaptation… 😌

I admit I never cared for Carter, and was pissed that Lord Dregg replaced Shredder
I like the 03 show more but Carter was definitely better than Cody in Fast Forward.
I like Carter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 TV series). And also his mutant transformation.
Carter should come back one day. 😀👍🐢
I wonder what happened to shredder and kraang after they were replaced by dregg?
You'll find out this week.
Season 9 was the best season since season 3
Where did that last name Dawson come from?
From a promotional text, in the CBS site at the time.
Carter is a new Version of Casay Jones!
Carter is just a worse version of Keno.
this why I was never a fan of the 87 cartoon
I HATE THIS CHARACTER
One of my least favorite characters
