  • Hiking Capitol Butte - Sedona, Arizona
The Hardest Hike in Sedona, AZ and also known as Thunder Mountain. This trail is 2.8 miles out & back, with 1,750+ft of gain.
Featuring class 3 scrambles and light trail finding, this trail is rated as difficult. And should only be attempted by more experienced hikers.
Leaving from the same trail head as Devils Bridge. If you’re looking for a hike that will leave the crowds behind, this is the trail for you. We had the mountain to ourselves and only saw 3 other hikers all day.

Some say 3.5 miles or 3.7. Which is more accurate? 2.8 doesn't sound quite right because it felt like 10 miles. We did it in about 9 hours with several stops for breaks and photos.
