    In May 2021 our group of four hiked to Jacks River Falls. Checkout the trail conditions and get a good idea of what the 10+ river crossings (each way) look like.
    And of course you can't miss jumping into the falls!

      If he started at dally gap, I believe it’s almost 8 miles to the falls.

    Started this trail with my dad when I was 10. We'd camp the night right before the falls....40 now waiting for my boys to get old enough for the trip

      You're boys are going to love it! So many great camping spots along the water. And it's amazing how few people you see out there. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    Watch your step! Looks like you guys had a few falls out there. What do you think the water temps were? Can't wait to get back out there! Thanks for sharing!

      Haha! The rocks are slick. The water wasn't freezing and with the weather warming up it will be perfect the rest of summer.

    What time of year was this? Think I could take my medium sized dog on this trail? Or would he struggle with the crossings?

    • @wolfliferunning

      Hey JD, we did this in early May and the water was flowing pretty quickly. It was hard for us to stay up and I'd say there were more than few places 3-4 ft deep. I personally wouldn't recommend bringing a small dog. It's a great adventure though!

    You didn’t mention where you parked. The last time I hiked here I came in at Dally gap. Where did you park to hike in at?

    • @wolfliferunning
      @wolfliferunning  2 года назад +1

      Hey Morgan! We parked at the official trail head very close to the entrance of the park (just passed the bridge). Here is a link to alltrails where we got our directions from. The direction tab will take you right to the trail head. The road is accessible by car (no 4x4 or high clearance needed). Just let me know if you hve any other questions and I'll try my best to help!

    Hey bud, what type of hiking shoes should i wear? When i hike i plan on going thru rivers and boulders, mountains. Anything at Dunham's sports might work? Or dicks

      We all hike in the Hoka Speedgoats. They are great for rocks, boulders, and drain water really quickly. You should be able to get them at Dicks or REI. If you need something for muddy trails the Hoka Torrents are great too.
