Hi Kraig, I am Sean from Singapore, a supporter of your channel. Thank you for inspiring people like me from far away from where you are at to make content, hike and explore. =)
I like the end of the videos when you discuss your thoughts on the details of the trail/hike itself. The last few haven’t showcased that, hope it doesn’t go away. Be well.
I'm so glad that you're doing videos in AZ. It's such a beautiful state and I hope you get to hike in the Superstitions and other places in southern Arizona.
I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico and recently, for the first time, I summited our highest peak, Wheeler Peak (13,161’). It was a great feeling to get to the top. Toughest hike I’ve ever done, but the views were absolutely worth it.
I live in Arizona. I did this with my jack russell this year and he ran out of energy early. I had carry him on my shoulders to the top. Good memories and beautiful view.
Love your vids man. Tbh this channel is the reason why I started hiking myself an I gotta say, I enjoyed every single bit of it. Thanks to you Kraig, I'm realizing what I been missing out. Keep up the great work.
I sometimes play your videos in the background while I work and it's always such a wonderful experience to hear noise from some other part of the world in my studio. Thanks so much! : )
Love the aerial shot. But was shock that the hike part was only about 5mins, I had my popcorn already for a big sit down. love your videos by the way 😍😍
Hey bro hope you are well. Sorry we haven't been able to visit you for a while we were in Bulgaria then Malta were we got stuck due to Covid. But great to catch up with you again. Awesome work as always brother. Nice job thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. Stay safe and catch up again real soon God bless.
Every shot and every angle is just amazing. I wanna watch this over and over, just to find out every little cinematic trick you used. Thanks for spoiling us with these views, it's my dream to go hiking in the US again at some point.
Humphreys Peak is the highest point in Arizona at 12,633 feet and one of the most scenic viewpoints in the San Francisco Peaks. On clear days hikers can see the Grand Canyon from the summit. The alpine forest trail is located just north of Flagstaff. This is a strenuous rocky trail with over 3,000 feet elevation gain.
Watching this as I pack for a hike tomorrow! You should go to Panama and hike Volcan Baru. If the sky is clear, you can see both oceans from the summit. Awesome video, as always.
Thanks. It's been years since I did that hike, but I still remember the feeling when I got above the tree line and reached the saddle between Humphreys and Agassiz.
Kraig, I have so enjoyed your channel since you've changed your focus to hiking and taking us to places around the planet that most of us can only dream of. I hope you will take it as a compliment that it was a disappointment that the actual hiking footage ended at 3:13. Oh,.and you can never post too many videos, nor too often! Keep 'em comin'!
Long time fan and lerker and i must say something as little as the white text really brings these videos together and the quality and editing of these videos are utterly amazing! Hope to see more content when the worlds back to normal! Love the vids, love the channel. Much love from South Dakota! If you ever get a chance, the badlands are pretty cool to hike through!
I have many memories of my numerous attempts to summit Mt. Humphrey. I've had to turn around because of a Forest Fire, turn around 300' from the summit because Mother Nature was throwing lightning bolts, & once after reaching the saddle because I wasn't physically able to continue on. I wish you'd said something or included footage of the 3 false summits, the 11,600' trail sign, & the metal container containing the logbook hikers are supposed to sign on the way UP & again to sign out, on the way back to the trailhead. My most memorable hike was on 3 Aug 2010. Upon arriving at the summit there were 3 other hikers, within 10 minutes after arriving it began to hail & in another 10 minutes the summit was in a whiteout condition & the summit down to the saddle completely covered in hail. Thanks to my GPS I was able to safely get back to the saddle & below the treeline, the trail was apparent because of the tree canopy. Upon returning to the trailhead I looked up at the summit, took a photo, & all the hail had melted. The Yurt is something that must be new & I'm wondering if you can say something about WHERE it physically is located; co ords would be good. All my hike photos are taken with a Lumix FZ200. I retired & moved to Reno, Nevada in 2014. I fervently wish you'd included more footage of the hike itself, both the ascent & descent. I'd like to suggest you consider a clockwise hike in the Superstition Mountains beginning at the Carney Springs trailhead, up to Robber's Roost, over & down to Fremont Saddle & then continue down the Geronimo Cave trail instead of the Peralta Trail.
That brotherly love is awesome! I just posted a hiking video for a highest peak in Orange County here in Southern California, and I'm also way struggling with filming during the sunny, bright day. Footage comes out looking so blah, but I see it's just the way it is. Looked like an awesome workout this hike!
I recommend hiking Mount Katahdin, it is the highest mountain in Maine at 5,269 feet. You have to climb up some insane steep rocks, a sick adventure to Knifes Edge!
Kraig & Chris, I enjoyed the video immensely. For me in Australia our highest peak is only 7,310 feet (Mt. Kosciuszko). Of course, being an old land, the original height of our land was 3 miles higher in the Kimberley area in the NW. So thanks for the interesting trip; you appeared to each well.
Hey Kraig, Have you ever considered doing the Kalalua Trail along the Na Pali Coast of Kauai, Hawaii? (22 miles). That's a really exotic landscape you could get to during Covid without leaving the country, and you would capture that landscape better than anyone has ever captured it.
Recently did some filming in Arizona... sure I'll be back someday, and definitely gonna add this place to to the list. :) Love the state, especially the southeast, though most of it has some incredible beauty.
@@kayseacamp Few videos form the line, I explore the Santa Rita mountains, where the first jaguar in the States in about a century made his home range. Place was absolute paradise! Could immediately see why he stuck around.
Great, I'm going to watch it now! I have been following your channel since I watched Mardi Himal trek, Nepal film. I'm waiting for the world to open up more, hopefully by Feb, so I can do the terk. Love your silent films! 💛✌🏻
Thank you for another great video, I used to live in Flagstaff. This video brings back a lot of good memories. I live in Idaho now. I'm going to watch your Sawtooth loop hike video next. If you ever make it back to Idaho. You should summit Mt. Borah (the highest point in Idaho 12,667 ft.). It comes with a famous "Chicken out ridge". I think you will enjoy it. Thanks again for making these beautiful hiking videos.
I hiked Humphreys Peak years ago after two attempts! It gets really windy up there and it must have been 50+ mph winds when we were up there, my friend Harry and I! I lost my hat one year, it blew off and just kept on going never to been seen again by us. I made it to the top but my friend Harry had to stop since his eyes were bothering him, a result of his being diabetic. After getting down, I remember us going into town and being so hungry we both ordered a whole pizza! We each ate about half of it and then we took the remaining slices outside and we gave it to a homeless woman who I'm sure enjoyed it. I realize we don't really see homeless people unless we are looking for them. I remember this woman because she walked up to us and asked if she could clean our house to earn some money. We told her we were from out of town and offered her the pizza instead. She gladly accepted it! Also back then, I did not have a camera, Harry did but he was down below me so I had to get a picture of me taken and then emailed to me. I don't remember if I ever got the picture!
Always miss my brother when I see you two together. He's been gone almost ten years now. Enjoy every sandwich.
Sad, my heart is with ya
I had a bro in law who died while mtn. biking.
You're spoiling us with 2 videos so close to each other. ❤
more on the way ha
first thing i thought when I read "33 minutes ago"
Oof, guess I'll have to smash that refresh button then

What a great location! I love those wide wide views ⛰⛰ thanks for a reminder of what’s out there!
Growing up in Phoenix I’ve still never done Humphreys Peak. Did Grand Canyon recently but this looks like a must do also!
I live in Phoenix too. I would recommend spending the night in flag to acclimate to the higher altitude
Edit: the night before you hike.
