    I have watched many videos and I found that yours was the best. I just got some peaches from the fruit club a truck was near our town. I have to let them sit for 24-48 hours for them to ripen. I can't wait to freeze them. Thanks for sharing your video.

    My absolute favorite knife for doing what your doing is the " Tomato Knife " by Rada...... I use it for all kinds of things freezing and canning preparations...... I have one that's 4-5 years old and I have never had to sharpen it yet

      I too have my favorite Imperial knife which I've been using since we were married 48 years ago. When we were on a mission for many years to find another. After we included a photo of my knife on one of our videos, viewers in Ohio (Scott & Sarah Miller) actually found the exact same one and sent it to us as a gift. They drove here to Wisconsin and spent the weekend with us last summer as well. We were absolutely amazed and ever so grateful to the kindness, support and generosity gardeners from around the world have shared with us over the past 5 years since posting our Wisconsin Garden blog. Thanks to you too for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard

    You’re right, we planted them two springs ago. Last year they gave us maybe 8 peaches, and then this year they went crazy! We were so pleased! Hoping for even more next year. Yes, 124th and Capitol where Office Max, Burlington, etc are now. Also was one on Green Bay Ave in Mequon back when. Lynn

      Sherry Kaiser Thanks for the kind comment. Richard is just about to release our new video this evening titled: "Freezer Peach Jam." OMG is it delightful as we just finished the first of 4-5 more batches. Richard says it's like drinking love. I thought that was a unique descriptor. Thanks again for watching and sharing. I have done it both ways. I think the water version is better at getting it all over the peaches, faster too. Thanks for your question. Lynn

      Hi Cynthia. Actually one of our viewers in Ohio, Scott & Sarah, found the exact one Online and sent it to us as an unexpected gift. The following summer they drove to Wisconsin to spend the weekend with us to tour our gardens and also greater Milwaukee. This year one of their precious daughters sent us 3 children books for our Free Book Library. We just can't say enough about all the love and support we've received from so many viewers around the world. Never in our wildest dreams did we anticipate what was about to have after we began posting videos on RUclips about our little eclectic experimental gardens. We are truly blessed. Thank you for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard

      Good morning Faith. Oh my, this brings back great memories from 2013. Oh those Elberta peaches were sooooooo gooooood! We lost our peach trees a couple of years ago so this year we planted several more. Hopefully next year we will once again they will start producing. These summer time peaches make winter enjoyable.

      Hi Patricia. Thanks for the link. We've found many great knives available, but I was looking for a specific knife that we bought shortly after we were married nearly 50 years ago which I really, really like over all others that I also have. I just mentioned it in a couple of videos where I used the knife I had. The Millers are wonderful viewers from Ohio who actually found the same identical knife and sent it to us as a gift. We now have 2 of the best knives ever made. Thanks for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard

    How can I freeze peaches without sugar...do other natural sweetners like stevia?

    • @WisconsinGarden
      @WisconsinGarden  10 лет назад

      Yes but you'll need to fill the jar with water, apple or white grape juice. You could use an artifical sweetner in place of sugar if you want them sweeter. You may want to freeze them instead in an air-tight container without sugar or syrup. Thanks for watching and sharing. Lynn & Richard

    You convinced me to plant some peach trees. How old are they? I thought the trees had only been planted a year or two and when I saw your yield ... NICE.

    Aren't you supposed to let peaches ripen on the tree? That's what I do and it has always worked very well. That way they get as big as possible.

    • @WisconsinGarden
      @WisconsinGarden  7 лет назад

      Ideally yes. With so many different aspects in our eclectic experimental gardens to consider on a daily basis, it's not always possible to pick each peach when perfectly ripe. While we try to allow as many as possible to remain on the tree until that stage, we prefer to harvest as many at a time as possible that are fully ripen or close to it before they simply fall off onto the ground and get bruised or eaten. We also have to consider the 3 different types of peach trees that ripen at different times of mid to late summer (O'Henry, Red Haven & Elberta). All we can say is that when we begin to can, freeze or eat our peaches, they are truly sweet and picked at the best time. Thanks for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard

      I would not use newspaper because the ink is not safe. Buy food safe paper from Amazon.

    may I ask .. why does everyone take the peels off "blanching" ? It's where all the nutrients are !

    • @WisconsinGarden
      @WisconsinGarden  8 лет назад

      If it were up to Richard he would prefer to keep the skins if only for that reasoning. While I also agree with your reasoning, I myself do not like the fuzzy skins on my peaches. Just can't eat them that way so I blanch. Thanks for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard

    • @WisconsinGarden
      @WisconsinGarden  9 лет назад

      John Carey Make sure the label of the tree(s) you select is listed as hardy for zone at least zone 5 and comes with a 1-year warranty. We purchased 4 more peach trees last year and this spring we didn't see one blossom. We're hoping to finally get some peaches growing next year. TKS Lynn & Richard
