    About Jackson:
    Jackson began back in the late 1970s, when heavy music experienced a flamboyant and virtuosic resurgence in popularity and a small Southern California guitar repair shop became the epicenter of a new level of shred-approved excellence. Ever since then, Jackson guitars have been universally lauded as the metal guitars; the shred machines-highly original high-performance instruments of distinctive style and formidable substance. From metal’s chart-topping peaks to its darkest recesses, for discerning guitarists all over the globe, Jackson is the only way to go.

      I just wrote a similar comment about the price. Totally unjustified. I wish they moved production to Asia and reduced the price by 50% for those who does not mind having an Asian guitar. I've owned an Edwards Les Paul and it was on par with a Gibson that cost 4 times more. For those who can afford USA model, let them buy the US one.

    I love Seafoam green!! Also I love Jackson, but on models like DK2 and most other models the volume needs to put lower near the tremolo because when your playing you hit the volume once and a while which turns it down... So its cool both volume tone (not that you use the tone very often) is out of the way! Hope Jackson will make 6 string of this model sometime down the road! Jackson makes the greatest guitar on the planet especially the USA custom shop ones! Mike Shannon is a luthier God!!

  • @augustcampbell2375
    @augustcampbell2375 Год назад +2

    Yes its the most expensive pro series Jackson ever, as far as I know anyway. But you'd be hard pressed to find a production guitar with specs this fire in the industry, and you'd be waiting at least like a year if you order something custom. He even moved the controls out of the way! All in all good job lads. Good music, cool gear.

    • @Andrew_182
      @Andrew_182 Год назад +3

      "But you'd be hard pressed to find a production guitar with specs this fire in the industry"
      I mean...not really. LTD and Schecter offer similarly spec'd guitars for less. Made in Korea too, also by world music, so likely in the same spaces this one is made. As far as going custom, Kiesels quoting I think 10-12 weeks at the moment but even with their longer wait times I've only ever seen it get to like 18-20. Would likely be paying more though. Also worth mentioning Jackson are charging like $1000 less outside of North America for this guitar, which just goes to show they're ripping their NA customers off.
      It's really a shame because this guitar is rad and Josh deserves for it to be successful. But even as someone who loves Jackson and wants them to succeed, it's hard to deny they keep screwing things that should be easy W's up.
      Edit: I did a mock up of this guitar on Kiesels builder. I can't price the ET, BKP, or roasted neck as they haven't added those options to the builder yet, but they do offer the ability to get them, you'd just have to call in to order. But with everything else - body shape, scale length, number of strings, similar color (They call it tropic), ebony board, extra jumbo frets (theirs are stainless so plus there)- it comes to $1850 shipped with a soft case. Add in the ET, the BKP, the roasted maple neck, and you could also have them move the knobs, and you probably aren't going to be too far over the cost of the JS sig and you would have it in a few months, not over a year.

    • @Andrew_182
      @Andrew_182 Год назад

      @@lucaburchartz516 Ltd has guitars (including strat shaped ones like the soloist) that come stock with evertunes, stainless frets, locking tuners, and fishmans (not bkpus but still in the more expensive side as far as pickups go), and ebony boards, that are also made in the same factory in South Korea that sell for significantly less.
      If you want an example look up the M-1007B ET. Comes with the et, SS frets, locking tuners, ebony board, five piece walnut/maple neck (not roasted but arguable a more premium spec), a mahogany body with a flame maple top (not veneer), luminlays, flush mounted Dunlop strap locks, FF modern dual Alnico (instead of Alnico/ceramic which is a more expensive option) pickups, and a hard shell case - for $1600.
      The strat headstock is not an added cost for Jackson as they are owned by fender, and the color while cool isn’t a justification for the stupid price difference. Flat out, Jackson is overcharging for this model in North America. It is not a good or even fair deal here, and it sucks because Josh deserves to have them sell well.

    • @Andrew_182
      @Andrew_182 Год назад

      @@lucaburchartz516 I just realized you might be referring to the Kiesel. I believe they charge $400usd for the et, $100 for the roasted neck, which puts you at $2450 before the bkps. So, like I said, you could have Kiesel build you one for not much more and it’ll be a MIA semi-custom guitar. Sure, you don’t get the strat headstock (oh no!), but you do get stainless frets. Again, there’s no justification for the price here in NA.

    • @Andrew_182
      @Andrew_182 Год назад

      @@lucaburchartz516 lol. Bud, I get you’re a super fan and all, desperate to defend it, but come on. “The headstock is so cool because it doesn’t cause neckdive! (Lolol) That justifies it being about $1000 more than it should be!”. Riiiight.
      No matter how hard you try to justify or defend it, it’s overpriced here. If it was priced on par with what it is overseas, it would do much better than it will at this price which puts it in a market segment with much higher tier guitars than it actually is.
      Anecdotally, if it was priced where it should be, I would be seriously considering it. But as it stands, it’s not a compelling choice because of its ridiculous markup. Flip through the comments here and elsewhere this has been discussed, and you’ll see I’m sharing the prevailing sentiment. It is not a criticism of the musician but rather the company, so don’t get so deep in your feeling about it.

    • @Andrew_182
      @Andrew_182 Год назад

      @@lucaburchartz516 lol, good for you matey, doesn’t change a thing I said unfortunately, and the only confirms you’re a super fan who is unable to see the forest through the trees in this conversation
      The headstock shape doesn’t effect neck dive. Plenty of brands with various headstock shapes and no dive because it’s simply down to the body weighing more than the neck as a whole not the shape of the headstock which is why you claiming “the headstock means no neck dive!” as some sort of justification for the ridiculous pricing here is fucking hilarious. As for him saying “it feels like like a CS guitar!”, great, an artist is stoked on his own signature model. More news at 11. In reality, it’s going to feel just like the guitars which this one should be in a similar price range of being made along side it at the same factory in the LTDs and Schecters and whatever else world music makes.
      Again, it’s a cool guitar but it is absolutely over priced here in the US/NA. Absolutely NOTHING you have said, or will say, is going to dispute that. Jackson/Fender is fucking Josh by overcharging here. It should be the same cost as it is overseas and then it would be muuuuch more competitive. But as it stands, it’s just not worth the extra $1000 they’ve tacked on here. That’s not taking away from Josh or shitting on the guitar, it’s criticizing the decision made by Jackson/Fender to overcharge so feel free to stop saying silly shit trying to argue something you can’t.

Schecter too. Also, Fender owns Jackson, so not sure why you think they would need to pay a fee like Warmoth or something.
      It's also worth mentioning they're selling these things for like $1000 less outside North America. Wouldn't be able to do that if the margins/costs really added up the way you outlined. They're overcharging NA buyers, plain and simple.

    $2700 plus tax for a Korean made Pro Series with no Stainless Steel frets. Absolutely pathetic. Absolutely greedy. This type of pricing being where this guitar is made sets a TERRIBLE precedent. Other companies will follow suit to try and pull the wool over everyone's head, and they will start trying to pull fast ones by charging people these outrageous prices for Indonesian, Chinese, Korean, etc made guitars. $2700 for a Korean made! Old Thomas gave it a valiant go, but LTD is doing all that minus the bareknuckles but add in Fishmans and SS frets, in korea likely at the same world music factory no less, so there goes the "costs money cause the CC has to be reprogrammed" line item. Add in the fact that Fender owns Jackson, so they wouldn't need to pay a licensing fee like a third party like Warmoth does, and there goes another. Not to mention that they're able to sell these guitars for $1000 less outside of North America, which wouldn't be possible if the margins where anywhere near what Tommy boy is suggesting.
      But yes, those of us who us see this for what it is, a ripoff, just don't understand how capitalism works, obviously.
      It's a shame Jackson/Fender are messing this up yet again. I love the brand and think this guitar is super rad, but I'm absolutely not willing to pay double the price as I would for a comparably specced guitar from a company who is actually looking to give their buyers good value like LTD.
