I don't know if binge watching ALL of your videos over the last couple of weeks has been the healthiest choice I've made recently, ( I should probably mention that the binge watching is usually accompanied by a bag of chips and some dip....) but oh my goodness, you really are just the bees knees 🐝 Thanks for the thrifting inspirations and the lovely lovely travel vlogs!!
Haha I don’t why this makes me so happy but I’m a chip and dip girl so I’m there with you and your with me 😂🙌❤️
Love, love, love chips and dip, since I was a child!!
Hi Laura, I am 74 years old and my grandmother had the exact same carved eagle coffee table when I was a very little girl. The glass didn't just cover the eagle, it covered the entire table. I think it had about a 2 inch wood border that framed the glass.
We,amazing jewelry haul🥰
How amazing! It sure is a neat table! 😍
I have one like it but it's not an eagle it's a lady sitting on a rock in the water. When I bought it I was told it was a mermaid but it was not but I love it.
This one didn’t have a glass groove on the edge of the table but it clearly did immediately around the eagle emblem
So many audible gasps while watching this one. Nola is my absolute favorite city. I can’t imagine a thrift trip during Mardi Gras. I’d explode 🎉🎉🎉
I got a necklace like the blue an red style in east Germany before the wall came down. It was fun shopping there because things were cheap but also sad cause tourists were followed everywhere. Supposedly for our protection... We gave the bathroom attendant about a 5 dollar tip from the 5 of us an she cried cause she could buy things for her son an husband. We were digging for more money for her but Major Greishabor corraled us out saying we would offend her if we gave her more. Lovely trip.
What a life you have! So happy you get to travel AND thrift shop while you do!
Vintage treasure hunting AND New Orleans??? 🤩🤩 What a cool video! Thank you for sharing this with us,Laura!!
Been to New Orleans twice. The 1984 World’s Fair was awesome!
This makes my heart happy. I'm so glad things are going great for you and Jesse. May life continue to bring more and more happiness
Thank you so much Jackie! ❤️
Oh Laura, you brought back so many good memories for me with this trip! My husband and I spent many a day in the beautiful state of Louisiana, and New Orleans in particular. Katrina changed so much, then health problems, so we haven't been in many years, but it was wonderful to travel via RUclips with you and Jesse!
As a native New Orleanian I love the fact that you came to my hometown! So glad you had a wonderful time and many of the shopping locations I frequent as well. As they say you love New Orleans and she will love you right back. Hope you find your way back here again.
I keep saying If I hit the lottery I'm moving to Nola!!
It has an energy and beauty like no other! I hope to go back at a quieter time too and see it from a different perspective 😁
My daughter lived in New Orleans for 4 years. She loved it and she says the New Orleans gets in your blood. She lived in MidCity just before leaving and worked for Martin's. She loved her job too. Someday she hopes to go back and visit.
Laura, I JUST discovered you 3 days ago and I have been watching your channel 3 to 5 hours a day ever since! I love the content but I must say the best part about it is YOU! Your spirit is just full of joy and light. You are magical! HGTV should pick your show up for sure. I am obsessed. I've heard you reference a former RUclips channel you did with a partner? I can't find it and would love to experience the trajectory of your business. Is it still available on RUclips?
Wow, Laura- that pocket watch gift is absolutely stunning & oh so very special. I am so glad you found the display piece so you can enjoy looking at it while not being worn. I love New Orleans! It’s awesome that you & Jesse got to go. I have a good friend who owns a restaurant there so I go visit him every few years:). Anyway, what a fun video. All of your videos are works of art & they are getting better & better 😊
Thank you!! It was such a fun visit. Wish I had more time to check out more vintage shops and restaurants!
This was great fun, thanks for taking us along! 💝
I really like this format of your own B-roll, travel AND vintage shopping. I might try this for my upcoming Vegas Trip. I get to see Tiffany while I am in Vegas too!
Beautiful view love 💘 the jewelry thank u for sharing
This was so worth the wait, only wish the video were longer LOL! My bestie lives in NOLA and I'm planning a trip there this May. I sent her this video and said TAKE NOTES so we can visit the shops you featured! Thanks, Laura!!!
New Orleans is magical
Oh Laura, to be young again! You are so active , you tire me out just watching your videos! But I really do enjoy them because I feel like I am there with you! You have found what gives you joy! My good friend has gotten me interested in thrifting just these past 6 months. We go to the same 3 local stores, the thrift, Salvation Army, and St Vincent De Paul’s. After following you, I am ready to explore more areas of our small Eastern State! Thank you for your inspirational videos!
That's what napkin rings were originally for, each person had a special one just for them.
Germany is full of magical towns.
So glad you and Jessie enjoyed our great state of Louisiana!
You find the best stuff.
Love your channel ❤ have got lots of new ideas from you. Thanks for the videos
Laura, when you were in Minneapolis, you must have seen the Mississippi. It's hard to miss.😊
Love your videos, you are my favorite thrifter, only problem I have is there’s not enough videos. Lol , keep thrifting
Your channel is lovely and I love all of your content.
Absolutely love you
Much less thrift stores in Australia
Even less here in tasmania !
And they are full of crap compared to these ones. I went to 3 today and there was not much at all
Love your taste & style. It's perfection. I love the lckibona Japanese vase with the flower frogs. I don't know how to spell it but l just love them. Thank you love.
You may have already seen the Mississippi River when doing Minneapolis - it's right there too :)
Czechoslowakia means it is NOT !!!! Czech Republik but before independence!! Before independence the two ( now separate) States of Czech and Slowakia were one State but after the USSR fell, these two became separate independent states again: Czech Republik and Slowakia.
I know this, I but the last time I said Czechoslovakia many people commented saying that I need to now refer to it as Czech Republic. Even though I was referring to it in past tense. So I made sure to say both this time ❤️ I should have also included a *now*. I can’t seem to ever speak exactly perfect for my viewers to make everyone happy. It’s exhausting. I know the history very well as I studied it in school and even researched it extensively when I recently planned to spend a month there.
It's the same, when sometimes on some old items writes Yugoslavia or Jugoslavija and now it is 6 countries, with comlicated history and different state in Europe
I love jefferson bayou antiques
Oh Laura this is MASSIVE!!!
I love it thanks for making this video
I’m so loving your travel vlogs with great thrift shopping. Your trip to NOLA brought back so many memories from my time living in Baton Rouge and visiting New Orleans for many a Mardi Gras. I had a suitcase full of beads and doubloons that my daughter loved to play with as a kid. I’m looking forward to your next adventure.
Wish I could have made it to Baton Rouge! Next time 😁 So happy it brought back good memories ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Laura, I've been a subscriber for many years now. I enjoy your videos very much, and as much your positivity in any circumstances. 😀 looking forward to more videos
The Silver Necklace, Truly to me it looks Thorns & How Beautiful
The Flower Blossoms are so Perfect... You are my absolutely my FAVORITE THRIFTER EVER, So unbelievably knowledgeabl, Very Impressive!
Terri
I just love your videos. I’m so thankful you’re posting again. You’ve been missed. Your videos motivate me, excite me and make me feel confident enough to treasure hunt myself. Thank you for doing what God has called you to do. May you be blessed all the days of your life! 🙏🏻 🤗
What a beautiful pocket watch and fabulous gift!! It was made for you! Mardi Gras looks like a blast🎉🎉
Hi Laura! In answer to your question about petrified wood vs agate, all petrified wood IS agate, but not all agate is petrified wood. Loved all the jewelry you scored!
I missed you by a few weeks! Down in Belle Chasse for a two week Army course right now. Juts went antiquing on Decatur Street and had a blast! Looks like you guys had a fun time, too! :)
Our laura has come long long way doing what she loves entertaining us and now taking us places on het international trips well done u just have this lovely personality that catches everyone good luck always
Oh wow, would have loved to meet you in person. I live an hour southwest of N.O. an love all your video's. If you come back this way we could show you bayou country and take yall on a swamp tour. So glad yall got to experience Mardi Gras!
A swamp tour sounds amazing! I hope to come back again that way soon 😁
This was so fun! You are a great travel blogger. What I noticed is that so many people were really happy and enjoying the moment.
Never have I seen a pocket watch holder - that is the most beautiful thing. The holder and the special and lovely pocket watch make quite the display.
NOLA has some of the best antique stores with unique items.💜💚💛🎉
I’ve been saying for years I hope Laura comes to LA and I missed you! Hope you had a wonderful time
❤I am originally from New Orleans, cool you went there,if you ever go at Christmas time go see Christmas in the oaks at City Park ❤❤❤and even if not Christmas go check out the park the oak trees are huge ❤❤❤
I have so much fun thrifting with you. Your channel is so interesting and your hats are the cutest ever.
I miss Tn., I used to live there and now I live on an island near Canada. I have to travel an hour to the nearest Goodwill but first I have to take a ferry to the mainland. So thanks for the trip, I got my fix! Smile!😄
That painting with the flowers and orange background- just love it and definitely with the horse tray! Awesome jewelry finds too! I’ve had paperweights in my FBMP shop before and they just SIT! Glad you could sell yours
I love the napkin ring holder idea! Never been to Louisiana almost, love the old vintage antique stores you went too
Thank you for choosing the best music for a NOLA video.
I hope your experience was as positive as it appeared.
Great Idea on the different napkin ring holder for each family member
Way late to the game but just found this channel and am loving it! I know eagles were really popular in the Federal period, and based on the style of the table my guess would 1790-1820 in terms of date. Could be a replica of an earlier style, but that would be my guess
This is one of my FAVORITE EVER videos of yours!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE seeing New Orleans through your eyes. I went to high school outside NOLA (and attended LSU in Baton Rough). But I have not been back in years.
If you find yourselves in NOLA, again, ( not during Mardi Gras, check out the classics restaurants- Mothers for lunch ( a small cafe ) amazing Poboys and anything you want! Upscale restaurant- would be Mr. B’s ( on Magazine in the quarter) amazing Louisiana BBQ shrimp - not with a tomato BBQ- hard to describe- heads on shrimps adds so much flavor with spices( not too hot) lemon, and lots of butter. Another upscale - Commanders Palace during the week for Lunch ( lunch is most affordable -similar menus to dinner just slightly smaller) Two Sisters- has the best Oysters Rockefeller, and you must go to Cafe’ Du mode’ for There classic powdered sugar experience! NOLA has the best food in the USA, but during Mardi Gras, the crowds just don’t make eating in the classic restaurants feasible.
Two Sisters is awesome!
May God continue to bless you with love and laughter. You bring such joy to my life.
I think the pocket watch that was gifted to you is the Best Treasure of all !! How special .❤..love the trip, thanks for sharing..
So awesome to see you spent so much time in Jefferson. We have so many great shops. I live three blocks from Jefferson Bayou Antiques. It's a favorite spot. New Orleans is such a wonderful place for resellers! Glad you had a wonderful time! Maybe next time we can organize a meetup for all of your fans here...there are many. :)
PS. That WAS the river. You just walked up the levee...
My son lived in NO for years, he loved it.
New Orleans is amazing!! Great antique stores too! 🥰🥰
You were standing on top of a levee when you were trying to see the Mississippi River. What you were looking at is called a slough caused by back water from the Mississippi.
Your napkin holder idea is both sweet as can be and brilliant!
WOW. I have the same print of the town in germany. Bought at an auction to remind me of a fabulous day in one of my favorite countries.
What is the name of the town in Germany?
@@wrylieghhillebrecht1354 It's called "Rothenburg ob der Tauber". Very romantic and medieval looking place. I grew up close by and loved their local sweet specialty called Schneeballen (snowballs).
Wow what a great day out, finding so much exciting stuff, that jewellery you spotted Laura was so gorgeous loved it,Have a great week an weekend,😮❤😊
This was a really fun one! Loved getting to see some of New Orleans, and of Mardi Gras!
Laura you are so beautiful and amazingly talented. I love your adventures!!!
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I love your videos! I have learned so much from you and the Crazy Lamp Lady!
Thanks another Episode! God Jesus Bless!
My mother painted a beautiful oil painting of the blacksmith's shop in Rothenberg in the mid-70s. My parents just downsized and now the painting is mine. I love it, and I loved visiting Rothenberg. We visited many times, especially for the Christkindlmarkt.
How special!! I love that the painting is with you ❤️
Love the jewlery.
Love the floral painting. That watch what an amasing gift!
waaw colorful festivaties! Looks grate weather there
The Lion Dance! In New Orleans! 👏👏👏
The picture is fabulous, I love it!!! Glad your back, was my Laura videos.
I ADORE the curated to your family napkin ring idea! I think I’ll have to steal that! How special!
Come to Iowa and I’ll show you the Mississippi first hand
WOW what a gift. You are very special to that person.
Travel is so meaningful. It enriches you and your sole. Take care of your time piece and think of who you want to pass it to. I love this video very much.
❤️ this video! I go to NOLA every Christmas but have never been to Willa Jean. Adding it to my list!
Now Orleans, one of my most favorite cities! Glad you made it there!
❤
As a native of New Orleans (sadly I don’t live there now), this brought back memories. I first started thrifting at a place on Jefferson Hwy. and never stopped. I used to get pieces of Depression glass for a quarter. The river was beyond the trees you were looking at from the levee but you probably would’ve needed rubber boots to get close. The bridge is the Huey P. Long, very scary because the lanes are so narrow you can get your side view mirrors knocked off if you aren’t careful. My Driver’s Ed teacher made me drive over it. Took me an hour to stop shaking! My 3rd great grandparents are in a tomb in Lafayette Cemetery. Immigrants from Germany in the 1830s which you’ll find a lot of in that cemetery. Thanks for the walk down memory lane❤
I have a friend that collects pocket watch holders and has hundreds. Beautiful one you found for the special gift you received.
Laura, as an Israeli I've discovered Avraham Gofer's work only just recently.. and actually the minute you picked it up I was thinking "this looks like our style:)" Gofer's works are STUNNING! very similar in style to the Bitossi design, but in my opinion maybe even more beutiful.. he also has a series of creatures in blue and green colors.. just beautiful! his work is very popular here among collectors and resellers, whereas of Bitossi it seems not a lot of people have heard.
Yay! glad to see you.... felt like it had been a bit. My favorite person to watch!!
WOW! This makes me want to go to New Orleans. Love the different style of jewelry you bought. Very different. Love your videos Laura ❤
It’s a must see city for sure!!
Such a fun trip! Thanks for talking us along!
Love the napkin ring idea! Fun video!
Stunning episode Laura!
What a fun trip! Must add you look lovely with blue hair!
Haha thank you!! 😆💙
So much fun! Thanks for taking us along.
You are PRECIOUS 💕
God bless you and Jesse.
You look so cute in your Mardi Gras garb!! How fun!
Wow - you are really getting around. How fabulous. Great video Laura.😊
I love New Orleans. I've been to the Magazine Street Antique Mall. I enjoyed it, but the tourist prices deterred me from buying anything. The pocket watch is fabulous.
I saw Bon Bon Vivant in the red beans parade. They are one of my favorite bands❤ They actually come to St. Helens in the summer and put on a show ❤
smoothie king is a chain
Love the napkin ring idea!!
WOW, just wow!
MY Mum used to buy me vintage silver napkin rings look wonderful with my table laid up Merilyn
Looks like so much fun
