How to setup Bluetooth Pairing/Bridge/Bonding with RAPT Products

The QD is finished but we are just waiting on some small parts for the Nukatap to be finished now. Should be very close now.

Thanks for the video on this subject. Sometimes it can get really challenging to configure and pair this divices. Right now waiting for the temperature controller I just bought today, hopefully i will have it soon, and already have a pill😊

I have 10 steel fermentation tanks, an i have a pill for each one, but as you know sometimes i have prolems with the wifi connection because of the steel tanks.
I have now ordered a temp controller, because i would like to use it as a bluetooth/wifi bridge, i havent been able to find out how many pills a controller can act as a bridge for, do i need to buy one temp controller pr. pill, or can i handle a number of pill's...
Hope you understand my quesition.

Assuming you can't 'pair' the pill in the RAPT portal to the fermentation chamber if its in bluetooth mode? The RAPT portal doesn't have any metrics for my pill (as its bonded to the fermentation chamber). I can't see the pill temp in the portal for the fermentation chamber either (unless it's the 'control sensor'?). Its only temp though - I can't see data for the gravity. Unless I'm confused and it should still be reporting in via wifi and just use bluetooth for the temp to the fridge?
I have a stainless steel bucket buddy and a pill , what will give a better signal through the stainless steel, Bluetooth or wifi ? Cheers 🍺
@kegland my first brew went fine with the rapt pill and the rapt temp controller. Problem I now have is I’ve just put down a second brew and the temp controller screen is showing the correct new OG and temperature for the new brew but the online portal still shows the last brews temp and FG and it’s not updating? How do I solve this please? Thank you!
You guys really should go thru the menu and explain the different settings in the temp controller.. And how they do on their own and what the expected behavior is when they are paired.. I read the menu and it told me jack so far. And then started fiddling with pairing and got that going but it seems like the controller completely disregards the temp in the pill and goes for the internal regardless..

Thanks for another great video See, I do have a couple of questions though 1st I already have my pill connected up and view the fermentation via Brewfather, I know that I have to pair the pill with the temp controller but to keep viewing via Brewfather is there any other setup procedures I must carry out as I 'm sure at the moment the pill talks to Brewfather via my wifi. 2nd if my pill is supplying the temp controller with temp data do I need to connect the controller temp probe to the fermenter or do I just let it sit in fridge to measure internal air temp? thanks again
Thanks for the support Peter. We have made several new updates and we need to talk to brewfather again with futher about further integration. Once we do this we will release more videos on how to set this up.
With the temp controller I would just put that into the fridge. There is no need to do anything different on that front and no need to tape it to the fermenter body.

Yes if you change the temperature probe to the pill it will then show on the display of the temp controller or RAPT chamber.
I just got my pill and temp control set up. I did a test profile, during the test the portal would freeze the site. Any thoughts on what I’m doing/not doing? Also is there any way to clear the history already logged? Thanks for the videos, am looking forward to my first brew using the profiles.

@@stephend7128I have not. I sent an email to CS but just got the product manual. I’m going to try the Facebook group.
We have recently made some changes to how the profiles work so we have more advanced starting and end conditions for each step. We also have alerts that can get triggered by multiple different things. The only issue is the old profiles might not work on the new system so you may have to re-built your profiles and also you may want to consider ensuring you have the latest firmware.
The facebook group is the best place to go. It takes a while for manuals to get updated and the platform is changing fairly quickly so the facebook group is probably the best source of up to date information.
Trying to find spec's on max temp for RAPT pill, would it survive at typical mash temps? and will it pair with the Brewzilla like this temp controller to allow for top of mash monitoring / temp control?
Pill is for fermentation temps, to my knowledge. So i would imagine under 40 degs Celsius
I think you’d be better off with the Bluetooth temperature probe
Yes that is correct. The pill itself would handle the tempreature and so would the housing. the weak link is the battery.
Why would you want to connect these?
