I recently brewed my first all grain batch on the previous model Brewzilla 3.1.1, and I love it. I got it on sale because of the new model coming out so it cost just over half what the new one does, which as a disability pensioner was a great selling point. It doesn't have quite as many features as the Gen 4 but it's still a great bit of kit and I'm really happy with it so far. I hope you get heaps of enjoyment out of your system and make some great beer with it!
man its hard to find brewzilla brewtubers, but I also brew on a gen 4. 2 things I saw on the video that you may have figured out but I can help with. 1l. The bottom screen is supposed to be a tight fit so the trub doesn't get around it and clog the pump. I didn't re-route the pump, but still don't trust the bottom screen and use a hop spider anyway. 2. The heat exchanger dish connected to the bottom screen was recently added because both the heating elements and thermometer are on the sides of the conical, so the temp was often wrong and the liquid didn't heat as fast as a lot of it would go straight down to the hole and miss them completely. I love your vids... and you may already have figured out everything I've said :) haha
Most stainless brew stuff is not magnetic. This is also why you can't put magnets on stainless refrigerators. Some stainless is magnetic but it does tend to rust a bit quicker in my experience. Cheap stainless cutlery. If touching another metal type, it will rust fast.
Just picked up a Gen 4 65l. Currently cleaning it ready for brewing. Here is one tip I can give already. Before trying to connect to RAPT check you have the latest firmware. It would have saved me an hour of swearing. Connecting to the fermentation chamber after that took about 30 seconds
I had problems trying to get my Wi-Fi hooked up to mine so I shut mine off did everything manually. I hypothetically use my 110 gen 4 for distilling but I plan on using it for brewing beer too!
If you trim the recirculating silicon hose to a length that is not in the wort. Then when the pump is turnedoff it doesn't suck grain into the tube and block the pump.
I have been thinking on getting the 220V myself but don’t have a dedicated outlet in the location I want the equipment. Can you post images of the electric work done? I will appreciate it a lot! Thanks for the great video
interesting review. I'm not sure I want something that fancy. The clawhammer all in one system seems to do exactly what I need and I'm pretty happy. Wifi...just seems too fancy for brewing needs but an interesting tool none the less
What was your overall impression compared to other brewing systems? I've been using the 65 l version for around 9 months now. It took me a while to get the system sorted. Initially, I clogged the pump a few times with hops, that seems to be sorted now. Then I had an issue with the base of the malt pipe falling in when making double batches. I've sorted most issues out and I think it is a pretty good system for a low budget. There are some good videos on RUclips on setting up the PID for different volumes that are worth watching.
I’m trying to set up my Brewzilla Gen4. But I keep getting an error message at the step of “attempt to contact device”. Have you had the same problem? I find that the rapt portal is not easiest thing to use. Do you have to use it on a computer instead of on a cellphone?
Yep, wifi is a 🤬 Sunday I started the Rapt Pill up in a Belgian Blonde Ale, all good till today. It says: The dashboard has changed and is now customisable !! and my Pill are not to be found online !! please register device again 👎other vice, great you're back 👌😉
So did you have to end up cutting one of the tubes? I just rerouted My pump config, doesn’t seem like there is a kink but it’s. Definitely possible. It looked better before but I’ll give it a try
It allows direct draining of the kettle to the spigot without going through the pump. That way, if the pump clogs, you can still gravity drain out the spigot.
My all in one pump gets clogged up regularly luckily it’s on the side so really accessible. Used bazookers inside the tap but that doesn’t work I really need to find a inline filter that withstands boiling wort. Great vid as always cheers from over the pond 👍🍻
Something to know is that you’ll need a boil screen at $20 or so to actually make this thing boil. And you’ll need the extra BTLE thermometer to actually get temp control to work. And also, the software SUCKS.
Good luck with the steep learning curve. They are great systems but with all that new rapt stuff in the gen4 it's lost the experience from the simple and functional gen3. Now you need wifi, now it's computer nerdery. I'll stick with a gen3 thanks.
Most pathetic software system I’ve ever seen in my life. RAPT is a mess and there are so many bugs it is unusable. Even the profiles suck on the brewery itself. If I could get a refund and buy myself a Grainfather, I would.

Screws are most likely stainless steel to prevent rust which are not magnetic

Great to see you back Sarah xx
Hi, I think the video title has a typo, the word Brewzilla is missing a few letters. Great video as always. Cheers!

Pump mod is golden! 💯 Cheers from Italy
Great to see you back! 🍺
It's about frigging time. Welcome to the show.
Great video. Welcome back

FYI, Starsan doesn't do a good job of passivating stainless steel.
Is there a cost for setting up and using a RAPT account?
@FloraBrewing a small mistake in your title "BREWILLA GEN 4" is missing the Z .
Wrong in the thumbnail too

The software is a total clusterfuck.
Nice to see you using a Brewzilla as well.
Hi Sarah, great video, where did you find the pump rerouting directions?
Interestingly, it's in the user manual.
@@dustinlight4716Thank you! That's the last place I would have searched!

Did you replace your Clawhammer setup with the Brewzilla? If so, what made you change?

Worst software on a consumer device I’ve ever seen. Like, I think a 7 year old would do a better job at building software.
You didn't blur out your mac or validation code on the brewzilla display but did in the app
So did you have to end up cutting one of the tubes? I just rerouted My pump config, doesn’t seem like there is a kink but it’s. Definitely possible. It looked better before but I’ll give it a try
Why reroute it?
I can't believe that you actually got one👍, it's a nice little system, I got one myself but the gen 3.1.1
Keep em coming Sarah.
I watched until the end.
So tell me why you rerouted the pump?
It allows direct draining of the kettle to the spigot without going through the pump. That way, if the pump clogs, you can still gravity drain out the spigot.

In the Netherlands we only have this all in one brewing systems en most people replace the bazooka filter with a lauterhelix.
@@simonevdw90 just looked it up and that looks interesting cheers 👍🍻
Try a pressure fermented smash beer with only honey malt and magnum hops. Could be interesting.
The screw that fell out of your magnetic dish is probably stainless steel.
Youre a riot.. "a 4th time!!!!"

Wow. How she gets views blows my mind.
Cant magntise stainless steel.
Some stainless steel is not magnetic
Your brewzilla is illa
