Great video I recently bought the brewzilla gen 4 from you with the add on pack and a rapt thermometer as I was taking the next step into all grain brewing its an awesome bit of kit with everything you need I have done my first brew day and I was struggling to maintain consistent temp so will defo look at switching the PID on would love to see you brew using the two thermometers and looking forward to the next update along with all the kit you can add to it. Will you be stocking the CIP cleaning attachment as this will be very handy 👍
I have one of these and 4 brews in. I am blown away by it.What a great video I can tell you your prices along with the add on pack are very competitively priced well done MM
Great vids guys, both parts! Just got my hands on a Gen4 BZ, and was wondering how does whirlpooling actually work with the concave base? Wouldn't all the cold break be sucked back in and stirred by the pump into the vortex? And then, assuming you let it settle and you get a nice cone at the bottom... do you siphon the wort out from the top (as opposed to using the pump)? Cheers!
Hey! Yes, the whirlpool works a treat! As you have the filter plate on the bottom, this stops most of the hop matter from being pulled through. Also, if you have the Heat Distribution plate too, this changes the wort flow and draws wort form the sides of the filter plate and round, again limiting the direct draw of the centre drain.
@@themaltmiller8438 Right, so I reckon the Heat Exchanger Dish is a must then. I use a hop spider so not really concerned about hops making it through. But break material needs something solid to decant on, as the perforated screen lets most of it through.
Not from the stock unit as the draw for the pump is at the centre of the main kettle - there may be a way to add some form of valve and hack it as the pump components and hoses are all accessible from the underside of the unit, but it's not something we have tried and would obviously void any warranty - so approach this idea with caution, you may be better off getting a small pump to the pump your sparge water if gravity feeding it isn't an option.
Yes, it prevents temperatures from wildly overshooting. Even better would be to use the PID and the additional bluetooth temperature probe, this then gives the system two points of reference for managing temperatures during the mash and as such makes it even more stable
Are you going to stock the extenders and extended malt pipe? Have been debating getting the 35l brewzilla and the ability to upgrade to two extensions to get 50l into a fermenter without the hassle of a dedicated electrical circuit is very tempting
You don’t need much of the Sodium Met, just about a quarter of a teaspoon for the whole volume. AMS is dependent on your water at home, we recommend that you use a water report such as the one we sell from Murphy and Sons to test your home supply and they will make recommendations on the amount you use
ditto, and then came here. I want to brew a Shepard Neam 1698 here in Australia after a few months practice, if it's possible to get close to it. Only done extract and a bit of biab up to now.
False bottom yes, HED no. That’s an add on or if you go for the premium version it’s included. Both are currently on offer as part of our Black Friday event 👍🏻
Hi guys. Any trouble with stuck mash ? On almost all my brew even while using lot of rice hulls I still have to steer during the all mashing session in order to get a good circulation….any advices ? Ty
No, we’ve not had that during our brews on the BrewZilla. Are you crushing your own malt? Are you throttling the pump with the ball valve? What % are you pumping at?
Top work guys. Thanks for making this great video giving the full run down!
Glad you enjoyed this, and the other videos we have done so far! More to come!! Really impressed with all the items we have testes so far!!

l just don't know about that one l do use the Fermzilla gen3 but l like the Grainfather g30 Kegland do make great things
They sell those handy clamps in Poundland.. they are also a much better match in colour being black and blue! 😄
They didn't do the two stage lift on the 65L, the one that could really use it!
Can you use the pump to get sparge water from your hot liquor tank through a rotating sparge arm so you don't have to use a jug?
Not from the stock unit as the draw for the pump is at the centre of the main kettle - there may be a way to add some form of valve and hack it as the pump components and hoses are all accessible from the underside of the unit, but it's not something we have tried and would obviously void any warranty - so approach this idea with caution, you may be better off getting a small pump to the pump your sparge water if gravity feeding it isn't an option.

Do you recommend activating the PID setting? New to using the gen 4….

Keep an eye out! Might be that we bring them in on our next order of them!
Great video , how much SODIUM METABISULPHITE and AMS do you use please

Good work as usual,
Another great video. Thanks lads
Our pleasure!
you send to portugal?
Indeed we can;)
Is this system hardwired? If I would like to use this in EU can I replace the power cord for EU version?
It's not hardwired, 3 pin kettle style lead. If you drop us an email we can send you a picture, hello@themaltmiller.co.uk
Just ordered the brewzilla and fermzilla on your black Friday deal- great video, cheers fellas 👍🏻
Ace!! Glad you enjoyed the video, also thank you for your order! Hope you enjoy your first brew!

Does the standard device come with the false bottom and heat exchanger plate??

No im not crushing my malt, nor using the valve. Its full open at 100% pump. I will try to play with that valve. Ty
Does the gen 4 grain basket work with the gen 3?
Not entirely sure, we’ve not got a Gen 3 to try it on but will try to see what we can find out for yoy
Y'all know what the worst part of the Brewzilla 4 is?
As soon as i upgrade from the three to the four.... they'll make a 5!!!!
🤣 The Gen 4 is great, love the adaptability and the way you can add to it over time
still no 5……..but a 4.1 😅
